[Songs Meant for Other Artists] Cassadee Pope – Easier to Lie

3 Aug

Track Title: “Easier to Lie.”
Written By: Savan Kotecha, Max Martin, Karl “Shellback” Schuster
Originally intended for: Christina Aguilera [RCA Records].
Recorded by: Cassadee Pope [Republic Nashville].

Before Christina Aguilera released her album “Lotus” in 2012, rumors circulated around the net that the lead single was entitled “Easier to Lie,” as it was registered with American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.

Unfortunately, the highly-anticipated track was not included on the album, which peaked at number seven on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

However, lead single “Your Body” was helmed by the same writers of “Easier to Lie.” The songwriting/production trio also collaborated with Aguilera on the Bonnie McKee-assisted “Let There Be Love,” which was another fan favorite.

Meanwhile, Cassadee Pope is currently putting the final touches on her upcoming debut album with Universal Music Group / Republic Nashville Records. The still-untitled collection is trailed by lead single “Wasting All These Tears.”
