Bridget Kelly drafts Mack Wilds for new single “Act Like That”

Bridget Kelly has dropped her new single online.

The singer/songwriter posted the audio clip for “Act Like That” to her official SoundCloud channel on Thursday (July 30, 2015).

“Act Like That” features vocals from fellow recording artist and actor Mack Wilds, who’s currently working on his sophomore album and follow-up to 2013’s “New York: A Love Story” [Larger Than Life Records].

Meanwhile, Kelly’s upcoming EP is entitled “Summer of 17” and will be available for download from August 5 through iTunes and all other digital outlets.

The highly-anticipated project reportedly features productions from Marcos “Kosine” Palacios and Ernest “Tuo” Clark of Da Internz (Sevyn Streeter, Tamar Braxton) and Christopher “C4” Umana (Trey Songz, Kelly Rowland).

Alicia Keys unleashes new single “28 Thousand Days”

Alicia Keys has unleashed her new single online.

The singer, songwriter and record producer posted the audio clip for “28 Thousand Days” to her Vevo channel on Friday (July 03, 2015).

“28 Thousand Days” – now available for download via iTunes – was written by Keys along with regular collaborators Harold Lilly (Beyonce, Jill Scott) and Mark Batson (Lianne La Havas, Marsha Ambrosius).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Keys’ upcoming sixth album is scheduled for release later this year through Sony Music imprint RCA Records.

The follow-up to 2012’s “Girl on Fire” features additional alliances with Swizz Beatz (Drake, Nicki Minaj), Emeli Sande (Rihanna, Katy Perry), Pharrell Williams (Ciara, Kelly Rowland) and Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Mary J. Blige).

Jordin Sparks taps Babyface, Salaam Remi for new song “They Don’t Give”

Jordin Sparks has shared a new song online.

The singer/songwriter posted the audio clip for “They Don’t Give” to her Vevo channel on Friday (July 31, 2015).

Production duties on “They Don’t Give” were handled by Salaam Remi, whose other credits include Jazmine Sullivan’s “Numb” [RCA], Mack Wilds’ “My Crib” [Louder Than Life] and Ella Henderson’s “Hard Work” [Syco Music].

The track was co-written by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, who is also responsible for Tamar Braxton’s “Where it Hurts” [Epic], Colbie Caillat’s “Try” [Republic] and Samantha Jade’s “Shake That” f/ Pitbull [Sony Music Australia].

Sparks’ upcoming third album “Right Here, Right Now” – featuring previous singles “It Ain’t You” and “Double Tap” – will hit stores on August 21 through iTunes in partnership with 19 Recordings and Louder Than Life Records.

The follow-up to 2008’s “Battlefield” boasts further contributions from Dem Jointz (Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera), Key Wayne (Big Sean, Jhene Aiko), D’Mile (Rihanna, Wynter Gordon), Jonas Jeberg (Cassie, Chris Brown), DJ Mustard (Tinashe, Justin Skye) and Crada (Drake, Alicia Keys).

Jess Glynne enlists Knox Brown for new track “Why Me”

Jess Glynne has debuted a new song online.

The British singer/songwriter posted the audio clip for “Why Me” to her official SoundCloud channel on Friday (July 31, 2015).

“Why Me” was written by Glynne along with the song’s producer Knox Brown, who also worked with the likes of Usher [RCA], Sinead Harnett [Virgin EMI], Melissa Steel [Atlantic], Karen Harding [Capitol] and Raye [Polydor].

Glynne’s debut studio collection “I Cry When I Laugh” – featuring previous singles “Right Here,” “Hold My Hand” and “Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself” – will be available for download from August 21 through Atlantic Records.

The album boasts additional alliances with Jin Jin (Moko, Little Mix), Starsmith (Cheryl, Ellie Goulding), Wayne Hector (Mika, Britney Spears), Steve Mac (Shakira, Ella Henderson) and Ina Wroldsen (Labrinth, Calvin Harris).

Mika has premiered the music video for his new single online.

The British singer/songwriter posted the visual clip for “Staring at the Sun” to his Vevo channel on Friday (July 31, 2015).

Production duties on “Staring at the Sun” were handled by Martin Terefe (Shawn Mendes, Mary J. Blige) and Starsmith (Ellie Goulding, Kylie Minogue).

The track was written by Mika – real name Michael Holbrook Penniman – along with Wayne Hector (Fleur East, Jess Glynne), Benny Benassi (Kelis, Skrillex) and Alessandro Benassi (Madonna, Chris Brown).

Mika’s latest studio collection “No Place in Heaven” – featuring previous promotional cuts “Talk About You” and “Good Guys” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Casablanca Records.

Other LP contributors are Greg Wells (Adele, Michelle Branch), Nina Woodford (James Morrison, Leona Lewis), Matt Hales (The Fray, Mikky Ekko), Ross Golan (Chromeo, Jason Derulo) and Kerry Brothers Jr. (Mateo, Alicia Keys).

Craig David hits the studio with Ed Drewett, Jim Duguid

Craig David has recorded new material with Ed Drewett and Jim Duguid.

“Oh, it’s such a perfect day. I’m glad I spent it with these two legends!! @CraigDavid & @JimDuguid,” Drewett posted on Twitter.

On the songwriting front, Drewett is responsible for co-writing Little Mix’s “Black Magic” [Syco Music], One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” [Columbia Records] and Sinead Harnett’s “Do It Anyway” [Virgin EMI Records].

Meanwhile, notable songwriting and / or production credits by Duguid include Alex Clare’s “Too Close” [Island Records], Paolo Nutini’s “Last Request” [Atlantic Records] and Josh Kumra’s “Helicopters & Planes” [RCA Records].

David’s next studio collection and follow-up to 2010’s “Signed Sealed Delivered” is expected to be released later this year.

The still-untitled project features contributions from White N3rd (Daley, Joel Compass), Ali Tennant (Tulisa, Jessie J), Lindy Robbins (Zedd, Selena Gomez), Toby Gad (Beyonce, Alicia Keys), Tre-Jean Marie (MNEK, Melissa Steel) and Komi Hakam (Sam Smith, Ella Henderson).

As a songwriter, David recently penned “Talking About” for Conor Maynard along with James Murray and Mustafa Omer of songwriting and production duo Mojam. The track is now available for download via iTunes.

Fleur East has teamed up with Autumn Rowe for her upcoming debut album.

Among the artists Rowe previously collaborated with are Zendaya [Hollywood], Kacy Hill [G.O.O.D. Music], Dua Lipa [Warner Bros], Karen Harding [Capitol], Melissa Steel [Atlantic], Tanika [Virgin EMI] and Joel Compass [Polydor].

Her notable songwriting credits include “Happiness” by Alexis Jordan [Roc Nation], “Collide” by Leona Lewis [Syco Music], “Paper Doll” by Bea Miller [Hollywood] and “Fire” by Alexandra Burke [RCA].

Meanwhile, East is scheduled to release her first studio collection later this year through Simon Cowell’s Sony imprint Syco Music.

The still-untitled project features additional alliances with Iain James (Craig David, Emeli Sande), Ina Wroldsen (Labrinth, Calvin Harris), Ed Drewett (Olly Murs, Sinead Harnett) and Camille Purcell (Cheryl, Ella Henderson).
