Rihanna premieres music video for new single “Sledgehammer”

Rihanna has premiered the music video for her new single online.

The Barbadian singer-songwriter posted the visual clip for “Sledgehammer” to her Vevo channel on Thursday (June 30, 2016).

“Sledgehammer” – now available for download via iTunes – was co-written by Sia, who also worked with Carly Rae Jepsen (“Boy Problems”), Katharine
McPhee (“Round Your Little Finger”) and Lea Michele (“Cannonball”).

Production duties were handled by Jessie Shatkin, whose other credits include Kelly Clarkson’s “Invincible” [RCA], Foxes’ “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” [Sign of the Times] and One Direction’s “Perfect” [Columbia].

The track also serves as the main theme of the upcoming science fiction action film, “Star Trek Beyond,” which was directed by Justin Lin and scheduled for release in the United States on July 22.

JONES schedules release date for debut album “New Skin”

JONES has scheduled the release date for her upcoming debut album.

The British singer-songwriter – real name Cherie Jones – will release “New Skin” on October 7th via 37 Adventures.

Current single “Melt” – now available for download via iTunes – was written by JONES along with Andrew “Andy” Clutterbuck and James Hatcher of Elektro-Soul production duo HONNE.

Other album contributors include Ollie Green (Alex Newell), Adam Argyle (Izzy Bizu), Martin Brammer (James Morrison), Laura Dockrill (Jessie Ware), Josh Record (Dua Lipa), Justin Parker (Lana Del Rey) and MNEK (Beyonce).

Sabina Ddumba announces new single “Kingdom Come”

Sabina Ddumba has announced the details for her new single.

The Swedish singer-songwriter christened “Kingdom Come” as the next promotional cut from her upcoming debut album and will release it on July 1st via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

“Kingdom Come” was co-written by Ali Tennant (Craig David, Jessie J) and Michael Angelo (Stanaj, Imani Williams).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Ddumba is expected to release her first studio collection – featuring previous single “Not Too Young” – later this year through Warner Music Sweden.

Other album contributors include Toby Gad (John Legend), Carmen Reece (Kandace Springs), MNEK (Beyonce), LunchMoney Lewis (Fifth Harmony), Oscar Holter (Hailee Steinfeld) and T-Collar (Rita Ora).

GRACE debuts new song “Church on a Sunday”

GRACE has debuted a new song online.

The Australian singer-songwriter posted the audio clip for “Church on a Sunday” to her Vevo channel on Thursday (June 30, 2016).

“Church on a Sunday” was co-written by Charles “Prince Charles” Hinshaw Jr., whose other credits include Rihanna’s “Needed Me” [Roc Nation], Beyonce’s “Ring Off” [Columbia] and Usher’s “More” [RCA].

Production duties were handled by Da Internz, who are also responsible for Tamar Braxton’s “If I Don’t Have You” [Epic], John Legend’s “Made to Love” [Columbia] and Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” [Cash Money].

As mentioned in earlier posts, GRACE will release her first studio collection “FMA” – featuring “You Don’t Own Me,” “Hell of a Girl” and “Boyfriend Jeans” – on July 1st via iTunes in partnership with RCA Records.

Other album contributors include Parker Ighile, Quincy Jones, Fraser T. Smith, Mike “Scribz” Riley, Kassa “PRGRSHN” Alexander, Philip “Hardwerk” Constable, Victoria “Vickytola” Akintola, Mannie Fresh, and Mario “R!o” Jefferson.

Majid Jordan unleash music video for new single “Make it Work”

Majid Jordan have unleashed the music video for their new single online.

The Canadian duo posted the visual clip for “Make it Work” to their YouTube channel on Wednesday (June 29, 2016).

“Make it Work” was written by group members Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman along with Jenna Andrews and Andrea “Nylo” Landis.

Majid Jordan’s self-titled debut album – featuring previous singles “King City,” “Something About You” and “My Love” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with OVO Sound and Warner Brothers Records.

The project delivers further contributions from Illangelo (Alicia Keys, The Weeknd), Nineteen85 (Jessie Ware, Elle Varner), Ilsey Juber (Beyonce, Mariah Carey) and Noah “40” Shebib (Drake, Melanie Fiona).

Demi Lovato confirms new single “Body Say”

Demi Lovato has confirmed the title of her new single.

The singer-songwriter dubbed “Body Say” as the first promotional cut from her upcoming sixth album and will release it later this year through Safehouse Records in partnership with Hollywood Records and Island Records.

The still-untitled LP serves the follow-up to 2015’s “Confident,” which debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles including “Cool for the Summer” and “Stone Cold.”

Among the songwriters backing Lovato on the new album are Priscilla Renea (Rihanna, Nick Jonas), Miguel (Beyonce, John Legned), Sebastian Kole (Brandy, Alessia Cara) and Taylor Parks (Zendaya, Alicia Keys).

On the production front, Lovato has teamed up with Laleh (Tori Kelly, Shawn Mendes), Neff-U (Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole), Happy Perez (K. Michelle, Frank Ocean) and Emile Haynie (Bruno Mars, Lana Del Rey).

Tinashe drafts The-Dream, Tricky Stewart for new single “Super Love”

Tinashe has announced the title of her new single.

The singer-songwriter christened “Super Love” as the next promotional cut from her upcoming sophomore album, “Joyride.”

The track was helmed by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, who also worked with Rihanna (“Umbrella”), Beyonce (“Single Ladies”), Mary J. Blige (“Just Fine”), Celine Dion (“Skies of L.A.”) and Mariah Carey (“Touch My Body”).

As mentioned in earlier posts, “Joyride” – featuring previous singles “Player,” “Ride of Your Life” and “Party Favors” – will be released later this year through Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

The follow-up to 2014’s “Aquarius” reportedly boasts productions and songwriting contributions from Max Martin, Ester Dean, Jonas Jeberg, Taylor Parks, Devonte Hynes, Joel Compass, Mischke Butler, and Komi Hakam.

On the songwriting front, Tinashe recently co-penned “The Life,” “That’s My Girl” and “Scared of Happy” for Fifth Harmony along with Lukas Loules, Alexander Kronlund, Cass Lowe, BloodPop, and Stargate.

She also co-wrote “All the Way Down” for Kelela along with Jess Glynne, Talay Riley, Jeremiah “Nugget” Raisen and Dacoury “DJ Dahi” Natche.
