[Musicians’ Galore] Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds

Kenneth Edmonds, known as Babyface, is an American R&B musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer.

He has written and produced over 26 No. 1 R&B hits throughout his career, and has won 11 Grammy Awards.

On February 4, 2014, he released a Grammy Award-winning duet album with Toni Braxton titled “Love, Marriage & Divorce” on Motown Records.

His latest studio collection, “Return of the Tender Lover,” is now available for download via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

Recent songwriting / production credits by Babyface include Zendaya’s “Something New” [Republic], Foxes’ “Scar” [Epic], Jordin Sparks’ “They Don’t Give” [Louder Than Life], and Samantha Jade’s “Shake That” [Sony Music].

Along with regular collaborators L.A. Dua Lipa drafts Lauren Christy, Jon Levine for new single “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)”

Dua Lipa is gearing up to release a brand new single in September.

The British singer-songwriter christened “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” as the fifth promotional cut from her upcoming self-titled debut album.

“Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” was written by Dua Lipa along with Lauren Christy (Bebe Rexha, Iggy Azalea) and Jon Levine (Rachel Platten, Leona Lewis).

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa’s first studio collection – featuring previous singles “New Love,” “Be the One,” “Last Dance” and “Hotter Than Hell” – is scheduled to arrive on February 10, 2017 via Warner Brothers Records.

Other album songwriters include Andrew Wyatt, Lucy Taylor, Talay Riley, Chelcee Grimes, Karen Poole, Laura Dockrill, Sarah Hudson, Camille Purcell, Noonie Bao, Emily Warren, JHart, Iain James, Ed Drewett, and Lindy Robbins.

Shawn Mendes releases new single “Three Empty Words”

Shawn Mendes has released his new single online.

“Three Empty Words” – which was written by Mendes along with Scott Harris, Geoffrey Warburton and Ido Zmishlany – is now available for download via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

Production duties on “Three Empty Words” were handled by Jake Gosling, who is also responsible for singles performed by Ed Sheeran (“Thinking Out Loud”), One Direction (“Little Things”), and Paloma Faith (“Picking Up the Pieces”).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Mendes will release his second studio collection “Illuminate” – featuring “Treat You Better,” “Mercy,” “Ruin” and “Don’t Be a Fool” – on September 23 via Island Records.

The follow-up to 2015’s “Handwritten” reportedly boasts further contributions from Dan Wilson, Laleh Pourkarim, Stephan Moccio, Amy Wadge, Ilsey Juber, Chris Leonard, Ammar Malik, Danny Parker, and Teddy Geiger.

Sabrina Carpenter debuts new single “On Purpose”

Sabrina Carpenter has debuted her new single online.

The singer-songwriter posted the audio clip for “On Purpose” to her Vevo channel on Thursday (July 29, 2016).

“On Purpose” – now available for download via iTunes – was co-written by Carpenter along with the song’s producer Ido Zmishlany.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Carpenter’s upcoming sophomore album – featuring lead single “Smoke and Fire” – is expected to arrive later this year through Hollywood Records.

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up to 2015’s “Eyes Wide Open,” which debuted at number forty-three on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned the Meghan Trainor-penned “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying.”

BANKS unveils artwork for sophomore album “The Altar”

BANKS has unveiled the artwork for her upcoming sophomore album.

The singer-songwriter christened her second studio collection “The Altar” and will release it on September 30 via Harvest Records.

Lead single “Fuck With Myself” – now available for download via iTunes – was produced by Alexander “Al Shux” Shuckburgh and Lindsey Ramey.

Other musicians backing BANKS on “The Altar” are DJ Dahi (Madonna), Jenna Andrews (Majid Jordan), SOHN (Erik Hassle), Ben Billion$ (Kelly Rowland), Danny “Styles” Schofield (Nicki Minaj), and Belly (The Weeknd).

Sinead Harnett has confirmed the details for her new single.

The British singer-songwriter christened “If You Let Me” as the first promotional cut from her upcoming third EP will release it on July 29 via iTunes.

Production duties on “If You Let Me” were handled by GRADES, who also worked with NAO, Fantasia Barrino, Natalie La Rose, and Becky Hill.

Meanwhile, Harnett’s self-titled EP – featuring “Rather Be With You,” “Say What You Mean” and “Love to Lose” – is scheduled to arrive on August 4 via Rinse Recordings.

The keenly awaited mini-collection follows 2014’s “N.O.W,” which spawned contributions from Snakehips (Tinashe), Utters (AlunaGeorge), Paddy Byrne (Olly Murs), and Jonny Lattimer (Anne-Marie).

Jojo schedules release date for new album “Mad Love”

Jojo has scheduled the release date for her upcoming third album.

The singer-songwriter – born Joanna Levesque – will release “Mad Love” on October 14 via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

Lead single “Mad Love” – featuring Wiz Khalifa – is now available for download via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

Other musicians backing Jojo on “Mad Love” are MNEK (Beyonce), Ina Wroldsen (Demi Lovato), Justin Tranter (Gwen Stefani), Hayley Warner (John Legend), Taylor Parks (Alicia Keys), and Becky Hill (Imani Williams).
