[Musicians’ Galore] Al Shux

Al Shux – born Alexander Shuckburgh – is an English record producer and songwriter who worked with the likes of Jay-Z (“Empire State of Mind”), Nas (“Roses”), and Lana Del Rey (“This is What Makes Us Girls”).

The Grammy award winner also helmed singles for Banks (“Fuck With Myself”), Kwabs (“Fight for Love”), Ella Henderson (“Mirror Man”), Lianne La Havas (“What You Don’t Do”), and Elle Varner (“Oh What a Night”).

Some of his recent songwriting and production credits include Erik Hassle’s “If Your Man Only Knew” [RCA], Shura’s “Kidz and Stuff” [Interscope], Lion Babe’s “Hold On” [Polydor] and Birdy’s “Words” [Atlantic].

Among the fellow producers Al Shux has collaborated with are Busbee, Matthew “Aqualung” Hales, Joel Pott, Starsmith, Emile Haynie, Fraser T. Smith, John Hill, Andrew Frampton, Steve Kipner, Rick Nowels, and Francis “Eg” White.

On the songwriting front, Al Shux has teamed up with Angela Hunte, Samuel Dixon, Emeli Sande, Laura “LP” Pergolizzi, Sam Dew, Priscilla Renea, Julie Frost, Amanda Ghost, Ian Dench, Lindy Robbins, Jason “Pooh Bear” Boyd, Ruth-Anne Cunningham, James Fauntleroy, and Sia.
