The Scottish singer-songwriter christened “Hurts” as the first promotional cut from her sophomore album and will release it in September 16 via iTunes.

Production duties on “Hurts” were collectively handled by regular collaborators Mac & Phil (Ava Lily, Tamera Foster) and Mojam (Sam Smith, Jess Glynne).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Sande’s second album is expected to arrive later this year via Virgin EMI Records (UK) and Capitol Records (US).

Sande’s debut studio collection, 2012’s “Our Version of Events”, debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and delivered international hit singles including “Heaven,” “Next to Me,” “Clown” and “My Kind of Love.”

On the songwriting front, Sande co-penned tracks for Tanika Bailey (“Runaway”), Jess Glynne (“Saddest Vanilla”), Antonique Smith (“All We Really Have is Now”), David Guetta (“What I Did for Love”), Katy Perry (“It Takes Two”), Rihanna (“Half of Me”), and Gorgon City (“Imagination”).
