Julia Michaels has selected her debut single.

The singer-songwriter christened “Issues” as the lead single from her upcoming project under Universal Music Group / Republic Records.

“Issues” was co-written by Justin Tranter, who previously teamed up with Michaels on singles performed by Justin Bieber (“Sorry”), Britney Spears (“Slumber Party”), Gwen Stefani (“Make Me Like You”), Nick Jonas (“Close”), Pia Mia (“Touch”) and Hailee Steinfeld (“Love Myself”).

Production duties on “Issues” were handled Mikkel Eriksen and Tor Hermansen of Stargate alongside Benny Blanco, who are also responsible for Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” Jessie J’s “Thunder,” Lea Michele’s “Cannonball,” Selena Gomez’s “Same Old Love” and Fifth Harmony’s “All in My Head (Flex).”

Fans of Michaels’ songwriting works, on the other hand, should look out for the next projects by Jason Derulo, Years & Years, Jasmine Thompson, Ella Henderson, Zara Larsson, Jessie Ware, Rita Ora, and Snakehips.
