Rodney Jerkins, also known by his stage name Darkchild, is an American record producer and songwriter.

He has helmed a broad range of popular singles including “What About Us?” (Brandy), “Angel of Mine” (Monica), “Make Me” (Janet Jackson), “Déjà vu” (Beyonce), “It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay” (Whitney Houston), “If You Had My Love” (Jennifer Lopez), “He Wasn’t Man Enough” (Toni Braxton), “Say My Name” (Destiny’s Child) and “Telephone” (Lady Gaga).

Jerkins’s extensive resume boasts further works with Aaliyah (“Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”), Chante Moore (“If I Gave Love”), Britney Spears (“Don’t Keep Me Waiting”), Christina Milian (“Get Loose”), Teairra Mari (“Stay in Ya Lane”), Megan Rochelle (“The One You Need”), Kelly Clarkson (“I Forgive You”), Natasha Bedingfield (“Again”) and Rihanna (“As Real As You And Me”).
