Charli XCX has teamed up with will.i.am for her upcoming album.
The British singer/songwriter – real name Charlotte Aitchison – previously co-wrote “Boys and Girls” for will.i.am alongside the song’s co-producer Batso. The Pia Mia-featuring track peaked to number 21 on the UK Singles Chart.
As a producer, will.i.am’s resume boasts further works with Rita Ora (“Fall in Love”), Fergie (“Big Girls Don’t Cry”), Nicole Scherzinger (“Baby Love”), Usher (“OMG”), Mary J. Blige (“About You”), Cheryl (“3 Words”), Mariah Carey (“Heat”), Rihanna (“Photograph”), and Brick & Lace (“Buss a Shot”).
Meanwhile, XCX is expected to release her third studio collection later this year via Asylum Records (UK) and Atlantic Records (US).
The still-untitled project reportedly delivers additional alliances with MNEK (Jax Jones), Ester Dean (Tinashe), BloodPop (Lady GaGa), Sasha Sloan (Idina Menzel), ROSTAM (Sky Ferreira) and Cass Lowe (Fifth Harmony).
Current single “After the Afterparty” – which XCX co-wrote alongside EYELAR and RAYE with production duties by Stargate, SOPHIE, and Fred Gibson – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.
