John Shanks is an American modern rock songwriter and producer.

His notable credits include The Corrs’ “Only When I Sleep,” Michelle Branch’s “Everywhere,” Ashlee Simpson’s “Pieces of Me,” Celine Dion’s “Taking Chances,” Natasha Bedingfield’ s “Pocketful of Sunshine,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway,” Hilary Duff’s “Come Clean,” and Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb.”

Shanks’ extensive resume boasts further works with Alanis Morissette (“Everything”), Sheryl Crow (“Steve McQueen”), Anastacia (“Welcome to My Truth”), Enrique Iglesias (“Somebody’s Me”), Colbie Caillat (“Fallin’ for You”), Delta Goodrem (“In This Life”) and Nelly Furtado (“Red Balloons”).

Amongst the fellow producers Shanks has collaborated with are Dave Stewart, Carsten “Soulshock” Schack, Peter Biker, Toby Gad, David Hodges, Mitch Allen, Vince Pizzinga, Patrick Leonard, Alonzo “Novel” Stevenson, Desmond Child, James Harry, Sam Watters, Craigie Dodds, and Busbee.
