Raphael Saadiq, real name Charles Ray Wiggins, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, guitarist, and record producer.
Saadiq has been a standard bearer for “old school” R&B since his early days as a member of the multiplatinum group Tony! Toni! Toné!
His critically acclaimed album, 2008’s “The Way I See It,” received three Grammy Award nominations and was voted Best Album on iTunes of 2008.
Saadiq has also produced songs for artists such as Joss Stone (“Tell Me ‘Bout It”), D’Angelo (“Lady”), TLC (“So So Dumb”), Kelis (“80s Joint”), Mary J. Blige (“Color”), Floetry (“Imagination”), Kelly Price (“So Sweet”), Teedra Moses (“Take Me”) and Whitney Houston (“Fine”).
His extensive resume boasts further works with Solange (“Cranes in the Sky”), Usher (“Champions”), Andra Day (“Cheers to the Fall”), Goapele (“Crushed Out”), Miguel (“Flesh”), Paloma Faith (“Mouth to Mouth”), Jaguar Wright (“Ecstasy”) and Erykah Badu (“Love of My Life”).
