Sabrina Carpenter enlists Leland, Jonas Jeberg for new single “Why”

American singer/songwriter Sabrina Carpenter has liberated her new single online.

“Why” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Brett “Leland” McLaughlin, whose other credits include Daya’s “Cool,” Troye Sivan’s “Talk Me Down,” Allie X’s “Vintage,” Emmalyn’s “Hungover,” Spencer Ludwig’s “Good Time People,” Kat Graham’s “Secrets,” and Alex & Sierra’s “You Will Find Me.”

Production duties on “Why” were handled by Jonas Jeberg, who is also responsible for Selena Gomez’s “Fetish,” Dirty Heads’ “Vacation,” Bebe Rexha’s “The Way I Are (Dance with Somebody),” Demi Lovato’s “Made in the USA,” Zendaya’s “Putcha Body Down,” and Fifth Harmony’s “Sledgehammer.”

Carpenter’s upcoming third studio collection, on the other hand, is expected to arrive later this year via Hollywood Records.

The still-untitled project follows 2016’s “Evolution,” which peaked to number twenty-eight on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned two singles in the shape of “On Purpose” and “Thumbs.”
