Florence + the Machine return with new single “Hunger”

3 May

Florence + the Machine have announced the details for their new single.

The British indie rock band christened “Hunger” as their next promotional cut and will release it on May 3rd via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by lead vocalist Florence Welch alongside Tobias Jesso Jr., whose resume boasts additional works with Adele (“When We Were Young”), Sia (“Alive”), Pink (“You Get My Love”), John Legend (“Same Old Story”), Shawn Mendes (“Roses”) and Niall Horan (“Slow Hands”).

Production duties on “Hunger” were collectively handled by Thomas Bartlett and Emile Haynie, who is also responsible for Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” Dua Lipa’s “New Love,” Sam Smith’s “Baby, You Make Me Crazy,” Emeli Sande’s “My Kind of Love,” and Troye Sivan’s “Talk Me Down.”

Florence + the Machine’s next project – featuring previous single “Sky Full of Song” – is scheduled to arrive later this year via Republic Records (US) and Virgin EMI Records (UK).

The still-untitled collection follows 2015’s “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful,” which topped the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles “What Kind of Man,” “Ship to Wreck” and “Delilah.”
