Prince Royce enlists Savan Kotecha, Ilya KnocDown for new single “Back it Up”

Prince Royce has confirmed the details for his new single.

The singer/songwriter christened “Back It Up” – featuring Pitbull – as the next promotional cut from his upcoming English album under RCA Records.

“Back It Up” was co-written by Savan Kotecha, whose other credits include Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love” [Capitol], Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” [Republic] and Christina Aguilera’s “Your Body” [RCA].

Production duties were handled by Ilya “KnocDown” Salmanzadeh, who is also responsible for Ella Eyre’s “Comeback” [Virgin EMI], Jennifer Lopez’s “First Love” [Capitol] and Ariana Grande’s “Problem” f/ Iggy Azalea [Republic].

Previous single “Stuck on a Feeling” – which was helmed by Ross Golan, Sam Martin, Daniel “Robopop” Omelio and Jason Evigan – is now available for download via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

For his next studio collection, Royce has also collaborated with RoccStar (Fergie, John Legend), Lil’ Eddie (Usher, Kylie Minogue), Steve “Aceface” Mostyn (Sia, Jennifer Lopez) and Warren “Oak” Felder (Rihanna, K. Michelle).

Jason Derulo announces new album “Everything is 4”

Jason Derulo has announced the details for his upcoming fourth album.

The singer/songwriter christened his next studio collection “Everything is 4” and will release it on June 2 under Beluga Heights and Warner Bros. Records.

Lead single “Want to Want Me” – which was produced by Ian Kirkpatrick and written by Derulo along with Lindy Robbins, Mitch Allan and Sam Martin – is now available for download via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

“Everything is 4” serves as the follow-up to 2014’s “Talk Dirty,” which peaked to number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned international hit singles “Wiggle,” “Trumpets,” “Marry Me” and “The Other Side.”

On the production front, the keenly-awaited CD boasts alliances with Motesart (Sia, Celine Dion), DJ Mustard (Omarion, Chris Brown), Warren “Oak” Felder (Rihanna, Nicki Minaj) and Steve Mostyn (Brandy, Jessie Ware).

Album songwriters are Taylor Parks (Elle Varner, Tori Kelly), Guordan Banks (K. Michelle, John Legend), Ross Golan (Flo Rida, Prince Royce), Marlon Bonds (Kelly Rowland, Enrique Iglesias) and Talay Riley (Jessie J, Keri Hilson).

In related news, Derulo recently co-wrote “Chingalinga” for newcomer Alyxx Dionne along with Sean Douglas, Jason Evigan and Jonas Jeberg. The track is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with RCA Records and Derulo’s newly-launched label Future History Records.

Jason Derulo has debuted his new single online.

The singer/songwriter posted the audio clip for the Ian Kirkpatrick-produced “Want to Want Me” to his YouTube channel on Monday (March 09, 2015).

“Want to Want Me” – now available for download via iTunes – was co-written by Lindy Robbins (Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato), Mitch Allan (Zendaya, Kelly Clarkson) and Sam Martin (David Guetta, Nick Jonas).

The track marks the first promotional cut from Derulo’s fourth album, which will hit stores and digital outlets later this year via Warner Bros. Records.

As previously reported, the follow-up to 2014’s “Talk Dirty” will feature further productions from Steve Mostyn (Sia, Alicia Keys), Jason Evigan (Madonna, Olly Murs) and Sean Douglas (Jessie J, Kat Graham).

On the songwriting front, Derulo has teamed with Meghan Trainor (John Legend, Fifth Harmony), Taylor Parks (Madison Beer, Tori Kelly), Ross Golan (Prince Royce, Colbie Caillat) and Talay Riley (Keri Hilson, Nathan Sykes).

Brandy teams with Darhyl “DJ” Camper for new album

Brandy has teamed with Darhyl “DJ” Camper on new material.

“Studio with @theycallmecamper” the R&B singer/songwriter posted to her official Instagram account on Friday (March 07, 2015).

Camper is known for co-writing and producing Elle Varner’s “Refill” [MBK / RCA Records], Tamar Braxton’s “Love and War” [Epic Records] and Stacy Barthe’s “Flawed Beautiful Creatures” [Homeschool / Motown Records].

His resume also includes works for Mariah Carey [Epic Records], John Legend [Columbia Records], Mack Wilds [Larger Than Life Records], Big Sean [Def Jam Recordings] and Nicki Minaj [Cash Money / Republic Records].

Meanwhile, Brandy is expected to release her seventh studio collection and follow-up to 2012’s “Two Eleven” later this year.

The still-untitled project will be executive-produced by MBK Entertainment CEO Jeff Robinson, who is also overseeing the next releases by Gabi Wilson [RCA Records], Justine Skye [Atlantic Records] and Daisha [Epic Records].

Other album contributors are Steve Mostyn (Usher, Kelly Clarkson), Kirby Lauryen (Kanye West, Ariana Grande), Hit-Boy (Ciara, Sevyn Streeter), Diane Warren (Kelly Rowland, Rita Ora) and Tiago Carvalho (Rihanna, Elijah Blake).

Kelly Clarkson has debuted her new single online.

The singer/songwriter posted the audio clip for “Invincible” to her official Vevo channel on Monday (February 23, 2015).

“Invincible” was co-written by Sia, whose other credits include Rihanna’s “Diamonds” [Def Jam Recordings], Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts” [Columbia Records] and Katy Perry’s “Double Rainbow” [Capitol Records].

Production duties were handled by Jesse Shatkin (Leona Lewis, Kylie Minogue), Steve “Aceface” Mostyn (Alicia Keys, Ella Henderson) and Warren “Oak” Felder (Elle Varner, Jennifer Lopez).

Clarkson’s next studio collection “Piece By Piece” will hit stores and digital outlets on March 3 via Sony Music Entertainment imprint RCA Records. The follow-up to 2013’s “Wrapped in Red” is prominently produced by Greg Kurstin.

Other album contributors are Jason Evigan (Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony), Kara DioGuardi (Enrique Iglesias, Christina Milian), Mitch Allan (Zendaya, Selena Gomez) and Maureen “Mozella” McDonald (Rihanna, Miley Cyrus).

Kandace Springs releases “West Coast” music video

Kandace Springs has released a new music video online.

The singer, songwriter and pianist posted the Julie Vastola-directed clip for “West Coast” to her Vevo channel on Monday (January 12, 2015).

“West Coast” was co-written by Springs along with Andrew “Pop” Wansel, Warren “Oak” Felder, Steve “Aceface” Mostyn and Ronald “Flip” Colson.

The track appears on the artist’s self-titled EP, which is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with SRP Records and Blue Note Records.

Springs’ full-length debut album will hit stores and digital outlets later this year. As mentioned in previous posts, the still-untitled LP is executive produced by songwriting and production duo Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken.

Other album contributors are James Poyser (Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu), Dan Wilson (Adele, John Legend), Andre Harris (Usher, Mariah Carey), Jack Splash (Solange, Alicia Keys) and Brandon “B.A.M.” Hodge (Ne-Yo, Chris Brown).

Kandace Springs hits the studio with Dan Wilson

Kandace Springs has recorded new material with Dan Wilson.

“Had an amazing day in the studio with Dan Wilson cutting a dope song, then rehearsed with the band for Kimmel tomorrow!!” the singer, songwriter and pianist tweeted on Wednesday (January 14, 2015).

Wilson is responsible for co-writing and / or producing Adele’s “Someone Like You” [XL Recordings], John Legend’s “You & I (Nobody in the World)” [Columbia Records] and Pink’s “The Great Escape” [RCA Records].

His extensive songwriting and production resume includes further works for Taylor Swift [Big Machine Records], James Blunt [Atlantic Records], Paloma Faith [RCA Records] and James Morrison [Island Records].

Meanwhile, Springs is expected to release her full-length debut album later this year via SRP Records and Blue Note Records.

New York-based songwriting and production duo Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken will serve as the executive producers for the still-untitled project.

Among the musicians backing Springs on the keenly-awaited album are Jack Splash (Solange, Alicia Keys), Stacy Barthe (Rihanna, K. Michelle), Andre Harris (Usher, Melanie Fiona) and Andrea Martin (LeToya Luckett, Ella Eyre).

Her self-titled EP is now available for download via iTunes (US). The mini-collection features singles “Love Got in the Way” and “West Coast,” as well as contributions from Steve Mostyn, Jessyca Wilson, and Brandon Hodge.
