Awa hits the studio with Laura Welsh, Future Cut for new collaboration

Swedish singer/songwriter Awa Santesson-Sey, known mononymously as Awa, has teamed up with Laura Welsh and Future Cut for a new collaboration.

Welsh’s debut studio collection “Soft Control” was released in 2015 via Outsiders Recorded Music Limited / Polydor Records. That collection features singles “Cold Front” and “Break the Fall,” as well as productions from Dev Hynes, Emile Haynie, Joel Compass, Robin Hannibal, and Greg Kurstin.

Meanwhile, Future Cut’s production resume boasts works with Lily Allen (“Smile”),  Stooshe (“Black Heart”), Olly Murs (“Please Don’t Let Me Go”), Little Mix (“How Ya Doin”), Shakira (“Gypsy”), Laura Izibor (“Shine”), Melanie Fiona (“Ayo”), Ella Eyre (“Together”) and Mae Muller (“Leave It Out”).


As mentioned in earlier posts, Awa is currently working on her upcoming debut project under Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records UK.

The still-untitled collection reportedly features additional productions and songwriting contributions from Fred Cox, Negin Djafari, Luke Fitton, Joi Wynn, Kasper Larsen, Angela Beyince, Levi Lennox, Erika Nuri, Aston Rudi, Eyelar, Steve Booker, Autumn Rowe, Diztortion, and Lauren Aquilina.

Awa’s current promotional single “Comfortable” – which was produced by Aaron “Alias” Kleinstub and co-written by Justin Chaisson Smith – is now available via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

Nikki Flores releases debut album ‘This Girl’ online

Nikki Flores has unveiled her debut album “This Girl” online.

The previously unreleased project contains 17 songs that were recorded between 2005 – 2008 along musicians Evan Rogers & Carl Sturken (Rihanna, Christina Aguilera), Ryan “Alias” Tedder (Adele Adkins, Beyonce Knowles), Richard “Biff” Stannard (Pixie Lott, Kylie Minogue), Fernando Garibay (Britney Spears, Wynter Gordon), Alonzo “Novel” Stevenson (Joss Stone, Fantasia Barrino), Jonathan “J.R.” Rotem (Livvi Franc, Shontelle Layne) and The Jam: Michael Mani & Jordan Omley (Brandy Norwood, Leona Lewis).

Flores is currently pursuing a full time career as a songwriter under the direction of Sony / ATV Publishing, where she has been signed as a writer since 2006.

Salaam Remi, Elijah Blake grace new album by Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks has enlisted the songwriting and production services of Elijah Blake and Salaam Remi for her upcoming third album, which will be released in 2013 via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

Recent songwriting credits by Elijah Blake – real name Sean Fenton – include “No Love Allowed” by Rihanna [Universal Music Group / Island Def Jam Recordings], “Cold War” by Marsha Ambrosius [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records] and “Enough of No Love” by Keyshia Cole featuring Lil Wayne [Universal Music Group / Geffen Records].

Meanwhile, Salaam Remi is responsible for producing hit singles “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records], “Our Day Will Come” by Amy Winehouse [Universal Music Group / Island Records] and “Beautiful Surprise” by Tamia [EMI Music Group / Plus1 Music Group].

The new collection by Jordin Sparks serves as the follow-up to 2009’s “Battlefield.” That release debuted at number seven on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It also delivered three hit singles in the shape of “Battlefield,” “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)” and “Don’t Let It Go to Your Head.”

Lea Michele enlists Anne Preven for debut album

LeaAmerican actress Lea Michele has enlisted the songwriting and vocal production services of Anne Preven for her upcoming as-yet-untitled debut album.

Some of Preven’s recent credits include “Cuckoo” by Adam Lambert [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records], “What Do You Take Me For?” by Pixie Lott [Universal Music Group / Mercury Records] and “Remember December” by Demi Lovato [Disney Music Group / Hollywood Records].

Shall also collaborated with top musicians including Scott Cutler, Dallas Austin,  Phil Thornalley, Ryan “Alias” Tedder, Dapo Tormiro, John Fields, Paul Oakenfold, Christopher “Rusko” Mercer, Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes.

Beyonce Knowles has collaborated with Justin Timberlake and Terius “The Dream” Nash for her upcoming fifth album, which is scheduled for release in early 2013 via Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records.

Justin Timberlake has previously teamed up with the singer/songwriter on “FutureSex / LoveSounds” track “Until the End of Time,” which peaked at number seventeen on the US Billboard 100 Singles Chart.

He has also co-written songs for other artists including “Slow Dance” by Keri Hilson [Universal Music Group / Interscope Records], “Love Sex Magic” by Ciara [Sony Music Entertainment / Jive Records] and “Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You” by Madonna [Warner Music Group / Maverick Records].

Meanwhile, recent songwriting and production credits by Terius “The Dream” Nash include “Sight of You” by Tulisa Contostavlos [Universal Music Group / Island Def Jam Records] and “Nobody’s Business” by Rihanna featuring Chris Brown [Universal Music Group / Island Def Jam Recordings].

Singer/songwriter Beyonce Knowles has reunited with Frank Ocean for her upcoming as-yet-untitled fifth album, which will be released in 2013 via Sony Music Entertainment / Parkwood Entertainment / Columbia Records.

The pair previously teamed up on the Robert Shea Taylor-produced “I Miss You,” taken from the artist’s previous album “4.”

Other songwriting credits by Frank Ocean include “One Thing” by Alicia Keys [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records], “Pictures” by Conor Maynard [EMI Music Group / Parlophone Records] and “Scared of Beautiful” by Brandy [Sony Music Entertainment / Chameleon Records / RCA Records].

His second album and first major release, “Channel Orange,” peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It also delivered hit singles “Thinking About You,” “Lost,” “Pyramids” and “Sweet Life.”
