Sevyn Streeter unleashes “Sex on the Ceiling” music video

Sevyn Streeter has unleashed the music video for her new single online.

“Sex on the Ceiling” marks the third promotional single from the singer/songwriter’s debut mini-album, “Call Me Crazy, But…,” out now via Warner Music Group / CBE / Atlantic Records.

The track was co-written by Eric Bellinger, whose credits include Usher’s “Lemme See” [RCA Records], Justin Bieber’s “Thought of You” [Island Records] and Bridget Kelly’s “Shit Happens” [Roc Nation Records].

Production duties were handled by Da Internz, who are also responsible for John Legend’s “Made to Love” [Columbia Records], Tamar Braxton’s “Tip Toe” [Epic Records] and Candice Glover’s “Coulda Been Me” [Interscope Records].

The “It Won’t Stop” star – born Amber Streeter – is currently working on her upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released later this year.

Among the contributors on the still-untitled LP are Jerry “Wonda” Duplessis (Ledisi, John Legend), Angela Hunte (Yuna, Elle Varner), Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds (Madonna, Janet Jackson) and Midi Mafia (Brandy, Frank Ocean).

Sevyn Streeter has revealed the details for her new single.

The singer/songwriter – born Amber Streeter – christened “nEXt” as the second promotional single from her debut EP, “Call Me Crazy, But…,” now available for download via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

The track was co-written by Streeter along with James “J-Doe” Smith, whose previous credits include “Right There” by Ariana Grande f/ Big Sean [Republic Records] and “Lonely” by Tank f/ Chris Brown [Atlantic Records].

Production duties were handled by D’Mile, who is also responsible for Armin van Buuren’s “Alone” [Armada Music], Ty Dolla $ign’s “Never Be the Same” [Atlantic Records] and Celine Dion’s “Unfinished Songs” [Columbia Records].

Sevyn’s highly-anticipated debut album is scheduled for release later this year via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The still-untitled project is confirmed to boast alliances with Jerry Duplessis (RaVaughn, Mary J. Blige), Angela Hunte (Ledisi, Jennifer Hudson), Da Internz (Rihanna, Kelly Rowland) and Babyface (Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton).

Sevyn Streeter writes new material with Angela Hunte

Sevyn Streeter recently co-wrote new material with hitmaker Angela Hunte.

The results of this collaboration are expected to appear on the upcoming debut album by Streeter, which is due later this year via CBE / Atlantic Records.

Hunte is known for penning hits performed by Jay-Z f/ Alicia Keys (“Empire State of Mind”), Britney Spears (“Do Something”), Melanie Fiona (“Bang Bang”), Danity Kane (“Show Stopper”) and Magnetic Man (“I Need Air”).

Some of her recent songwriting / production placements include “One on One Fun” by Tamar Braxton [Epic Records], “Vixen” by Gyptian [SP Records] and “Torn Apart” by Snoop Lion f/ Rita Ora [RCA Records].

In addition to Hunte, the debut collection by the “It Won’t Stop” star will boast further contributions from Babyface (Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey), Rico Love (Beyonce, Kelly Rowland) and Da Internz (Rihanna, Chris Brown).

Meanwhile, fans of Angela Hunte’s work should watch out for the next projects by Jennifer Hudson [RCA Records], Ledisi [Verve Forecast], Elle Varner [MBK Entertainment] and Mutya Keisha Siobhan [Polydor Records].

Ledisi unwraps tracklisting for new album ‘The Truth’

Ledisi has unwrapped the official tracklisting for her upcoming album.

The singer/songwriter – born Ledisi Anibade Young – will release “The Truth” in the United States on March 11 via Universal / Verve Music Group.

Lead single “I Blame You” – written by Ledisi along with Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony – is now available for download via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

The follow-up to 2011’s “Piece of Me” is confirmed to yield further alliances from Jerry Duplessis (RaVaughn, Bridget Kelly), Angela Hunte (Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears) and Darhyl Camper (Elle Varner, Chrisette Michele).

Cover Drive have premiered the music video for their new single online.

“Welcome to Me” is taken from the Bajan quartet’s latest mini-album, “Liming in Limbo,” which can be download from their official SoundCloud page.

The track was written by Kerrie Thomas-Armstrong along with group members Amanda Reifer, T. Ray Armstrong, Jamar Harding, and Barry Hill.

“Liming in Limbo” serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “Bajan Style,” which delivered hit singles including the Jonathan Rotem-produced “Lick Ya Down,” Ina Wroldsen-penned “Twilight,” and Dappy-assisted “Explode.”

Among the musicians backing Cover Drive on their upcoming sophomore LP – which is expected to be released in 2014 – are Supa Dups, Angela Hunte, Eshraque “iSHi” Mughal, Jim Beanz, Camille Purcell, and Boi-1da.

Elle Varner has unveiled her new single online.

“Rover” – which features Wale – marks the first promotional single from the singer/songwriter’s upcoming sophomore album with RCA Records.

The track was co-written by Elijah Blake, whose recent credits include “DUI” by Ciara [Epic Records], “Shit Happens” by Bridget Kelly [Roc Nation Records] and “No Love Allowed” by Rihanna [Island Def Jam Recordings].

Production duties were handled by Eric Hudson and Andrew Clifton, who are also responsible for “Missing Me Now” by Keyshia Cole [Geffen Records] and “Sex Ain’t Better Than Love” by Trey Songz [Songbook / Atlantic Records].

Among the other musicians backing Varner on the still-untitled LP are Jerry Duplessis (Keri Hilson, John Legend), Angela Hunte (Ledisi, Jennifer Hudson), Da Internz (Usher, Kelly Rowland) and Tha Bizness (Brandy, Kevin McCall).

Varner’s debut album, 2012’s “Perfectly Imperfect,” debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. The project delivered hit singles including “Only Wanna Give it To You,” “Refill” and “I Don’t Care.”
