Since its a slow news day, I thought about writing this post, which has been on my mind for a while now. Its about songwriters/producers who worked with two artists that are frequently associated with one another. For this post, I have chosen Alicia Keys and Beyoncé.  In case you did not know, Keys was signed to Columbia Records (which is Beyoncé’s current label) before signing to Clive Davis’ J Records.  Here are the musicians that both artists have worked with:

Beyonce & Jay-Z, aka The Carters, surprise-release joint album “Everything is Love”

Beyonce & Jay-Z, aka The Carters, have released their joint album online.

Exclusively available for streaming via Tidal, “Everything is Love” features nine new songs in the shape of “Summer,” “Apeshit,” “Boss,” “Nice,” “713,” “Friends,” “Heard About Us,” “Black Effect” and “LoveHappy.”

Among the musicians backing The Carters on the new project are Cool & Dre, James Fauntleroy, Nova Wav, Dave Sitek, Boi-1da, Vinylz, Jahaan Sweet, Nija Charles, MeLo-X, Illmind, D’Mile, Mike Dean, and Pharrell Williams.

Chloe x Halle confirm details for debut album “The Kids Are Alright”

Chloe x Halle have confirmed the details for their upcoming debut album.

The American contemporary R&B duo – composed of sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey – dubbed their first studio collection “The Kids Are Alright” and will release it on March 23 via Parkwood Entertainment / Columbia Records.

The title track – which was co-written alongside fellow recording artists Diana Gordon and Tayla Parx – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The highly-anticipated project reportedly delivers productions from NOVA WAV, Mike Dean, Nasri Atweh, Sounwave, Happy Perez, Malay, Benny Cassette, Naughty Boy, MeLo-X, and Kane “KIN” Parfitt.

On the songwriting front, Chloe x Halle have also worked with Katie Pearlman, Natalie Sims, Chelsea Lena, Bibi Bourelly, James Fauntleroy, Kirby Lauryen, Shane Stevens, Lisa Scinta, Emeli Sande, and Michelle Buzz.

Beyonce celebrates ninth wedding anniversary with new song “Die With You”

In celebration of her ninth wedding anniversary, American singer, songwriter, and actress Beyonce has shared a new song online.

The studio version of 2015’s “Die With You,” along with the associated music video, is now streaming exclusively via Tidal.

Beyonce wrote “Die with you” alongside Roc Nation signee Kirby Lauryen, whose other credits include Keyshia Cole’s “She,” Brandy’s “Begging and Pleading,” Rihanna’s “Four Five Seconds,” Kanye West’s “Only One,” La’Porsha Renae’s “Will You Fight,” and Avery Wilson’s “If I Have To.”

Lauryen’s extensive resume baosts further works with Ariana Grande (“Break Your Heart Right Back”), Monica (“All Men Lie”), Jennifer Lopez (“Let it Be Me”), Fleur East (“Never Say When”), Elijah Blake (“Rockabye”), V. Bozeman (“Smile”), Alexa Goddard (“We Broke the Sky”) and BOOTS (“Aquaria”).

Beyonce unleashes standalone music video for “Sorry”

Beyonce has unleashed a new music video online.

The singer-songwriter posted the Dikayl Rimmasch-directed clip for “Sorry” to her Vevo channel on Wednesday (June 22, 2016).

“Sorry” was written by Beyonce along with the song’s producers Diana “Wynter” Gordon and Sean “MeLo-X” Rhoda.

The track – featuring additional production duties from Hit-Boy and Stuart White – also appears on Beyonce’s latest album “Lemonade,” now available for download via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.

Beyoncé releases new album “Lemonade”

Beyonce has released her sixth album online.

“Lemonade” is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.

The follow-up to 2013’s “Beyonce” boasts guest appearances from The Weeknd (“6 Inch”), Jack White (“Don’t Hurt Yourself”), Kendrick Lamar (“Freedom”) and James Blake (“Forward”).

Album producers include Diplo (Madonna), Mike Dean (Kanye West), Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend), Hit-Boy (Jennifer Hudson), Jonathan Coffer (Emeli Sande), Boots (FKA twigs), Just Blaze (Mariah Carey), Ben Billions (Travis Scott) and Mike WiLL Made It (Kelly Rowland).

On the songwriting front, Beyonce has teamed up with Wynter Gordon (Jennifer Lopez), The-Dream (Kehlani), Ilsey Juber (Charlie Puth), MNEK (Kylie Minogue), Carla Marie Williams (Britney Spears), Kevin Cossom (Mary J. Blige), Emile Haynie (Bruno Mars) and Rock City (Miley Cyrus).

“Lemonade” is also accompanied by a 60-minute short film of the same name, featuring visuals directed by Khalil Joseph, Malcolm Nichols, Melina Matsoukas, Todd Tourso, Dikayl Rimmasch, Jonas Åkerlund, and Mark Romanek.

Sia debuts new song “Salted Wound”

Sia has shared a new song online.

The Australian singer/songwriter posted the audio clip for “Salted Wound” to her official Vevo page on Wednesday (January 28, 2015).

“Salted Wound” was written by Sia along with regular collaborator Samuel Dixon, whose resume also includes works for Paloma Faith (“Freedom”), Rox (“No Going Back”) and Christina Aguilera (“You Lost Me”).

The track appears on the original motion picture soundtrack, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” out on February 10 via iTunes in partnership with Republic Records.

Other artists who contributed to the “Fifty Shades of Grey” soundtrack are Beyonce [Columbia Records], Ellie Goulding [Polydor Records], Jessie Ware [Island Records] and The Weeknd [Republic Records].

Sia’s latest studio album “1000 Forms of Fear” – featuring hit singles “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart” – is now available via RCA Records.

On the songwriting front, the “Breathe Me” star has contributed to the next releases by Rihanna [SRP Records], Selena Gomez [Interscope Records], Labrinth [Syco Music] and Carly Rae Jepsen [Schoolboy Records].
