Kelela reveals artwork for debut album “Take Me Apart”

American singer/songwriter Kelela Mizanekristos, mononymously known as Kelela, has revealed the artwork for her debut album “Take Me Apart,” featuring lead promotional single “LMK,” which is expected to arrive on October 19 via Cherry Coffee Music / Warp Records.

As mentioned in earlier posts, the title track was co-written by Kelela alongside Dominic “Mocky” Salole (Feist, Jamie Lidell) and Alexander “Al Shux” Shuckburgh (Alicia Keys, Lianne La Havas).

Executive-produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (Adele, Carly Rae Jepsen), the highly-anticipated project boasts further productions and songwriting contributions from Paul Epworth (Adele, FKA twigs), Jeremiah “Sad Pony” Raisen (Charli XCX, Sky Ferreira), Sam Dew (Marsha Ambrosius, Bridget Kelly), Nguzunguzu (M.I.A., Le1f) and Arca (Kanye West, Frank Ocean).

Kelela confirms debut album “Take Me Apart”

Kelela has announced the title of her debut album.

The Ethiopian-American singer and songwriter has christened her first studio collection “Take Me Apart” and will release it later this year via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

As per ASCAP’s ACE Repertory, the title track was co-written by Kelela alongside Dominic “Mocky” Salole (Feist, Jamie Lidell) and Alexander “Al Shux” Shuckburgh (Alicia Keys, Lianne La Havas).

Executive-produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (Sky Ferreira, Charli XCX), the follow-up to 2015’s “Hallucinogen” reportedly boasts further contributions from Dev Hynes (Solange, Jessie Ware), Paul Epworth (Ray BLK, FKA twigs), Blue May (Denai Moore, Clare Maguire) and Arca (Kanye West, Frank Ocean).

Kelela reunites in the studio with Arca

American singer/songwriter Kelela Mizanekristos has reunited with Arca for a new collaboration.

The pair previously teamed up on “A Message” and “Hallucinogen,” taken from Kelela’s 2015 mini-album, “Hallucinogen.”

Arca’s resume boasts further works with FKA twigs (“Papi Pacify”), Bjork (“Mouth Mantra”), Kanye West (“New Slaves”) and Frank Ocean (“Mine”).

The Venezuelan electronic producer, consultant, mixing engineer and DJ – real name Alejandro Ghersi – is also scheduled to release his third studio collection, “Reverie,” on April 7 via XL Recordings.

Meanwhile, Kelela’s still-untitled debut album – featuring contributions from Ariel Rechtshaid, Damon Albarn, and Jeremiah “Nugget” Raisen – is expected to arrive later this year via Cherry Coffee Music/ Warp Records.

Additionally, the “Rewind” star recently provided guest vocals on tracks performed by artists/acts including Solange (“Scales”), Clams Casino (“A Breath Away”), Danny Brown (“From the Ground”) and Marcelline & TRNSGNDR/VHS (“Dangerzone”).

Kelela enlists Clams Casino, Talay Riley for debut album

Kelela has enlisted the songwriting and production services of Talay Riley and Clams Casino for her upcoming debut album.

Clams Casino – real name Michael Volpe – is known for his production credits with Pia Mia (“Fight for You”), Blood Orange (“No Right Thing”), Mikky Ekko (“Pull Me Down”), FKA twigs (“Hours”), Jhene Aiko (“W.A.Y.S.”), A$AP Ferg (“Beautiful People”) and The Weeknd (“The Fall”).

Meanwhile, Riley previously co-wrote “All the Way Down” for Kelela along with Tinashe, Jess Glynne, Jeremiah “Nugget” Raisen and the song’s producer Dacoury “DJ Dahi” Natche.

Riley’s songwriting resume boasts further works with Dua Lipa (“Last Dance”), Jason Derulo (“If it Ain’t Love”), Nick Jonas (“Levels”), Austin Mahone (“Dirty Work”) and Jessie J (“Who’s Laughing Now”).

Kelela, on the other hand, is expected to release her first studio collection later this year through Cherry Coffee Music and Warp Records.

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up to 2013’s mixtape “Cut 4 Me” and 2015’s EP “Hallucinogen” and will be executive-produced by Ariel Rechtshaid.
