Angel schedules release date for debut album ‘About Time’

Angel has unveiled the title and release date for his upcoming debut album.

The British singer/songwriter – real name Sirach Charles – will release “About Time” in the UK on April 15 via Universal Music Group / Island Records.

Lead single “Wonderful” was co-written by Parker Ighile, whose credits include “What Now” by Rihanna [Universal Music Group / Island Def Jam Recordings] and “Do It like a Dude” by Jessie J [Universal Music Group / Republic Records].

Other songwriters backing Angel on the project include Planet VI: Theron & Timothy Thomas (Keri Hilson, RaVaughn Brown), Eric Bellinger (Usher Raymond, Chris Brown), Erika Nuri (Christina Milian, Fantasia Barrino) and Christopher “Frank Ocean” Breaux (Alicia Keys, John Legend).

Angel has premiered the music video for his new single online.

“The World” – available for download on March 31 – will be included on the British singer/songwriter’s upcoming as-yet-untitled debut album, scheduled for release later this year via Universal Music Group / Island Records.

The R&B singer/songwriter – real name Shaffer Chimere Smith – previously teamed up with the artist on “B’Day” tracks “Irreplaceable,” “Welcome to Hollywood,” “Back Up,” “If” and “Flaws and All.”

His new album “R.E.D.” recently debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It features hit singles “Let’s Go,” “Don’t Make ‘Em Like You,” “Lazy Love,” “Forever Now” and “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself).”

The American singer/songwriter will release “Girl on Fire” in the United States on November 26 via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

Lead single “Girl on Fire” was helmed by Alicia Keys along with Salaam Remi (Usher, Jazmine Sullivan) and Jeff Bhasker (Leona Lewis, Kanye West).
