Frank Ocean reunites with Hit-Boy for new album

Frank Ocean has reunited with Hit-Boy for his upcoming sophomore album.

The pair previously teamed up on the song “1st & Love,” taken from Brandy’s fifth studio album, “Human” [Epic Records].

Other notable production credits by Hit-Boy – born Chauncey Hollis – include Rihanna’s “Watch ‘N Learn” [SRP Records], Beyonce’s “XO” [Columbia Records] and Mariah Carey’s “Thirsty” [Def Jam Recordings].

His extensive resume also includes works for Chris Brown [RCA Records], Teyana Taylor [Def Jam Recordings], Keri Hilson [Interscope Records], Mary J. Blige [Capitol Records] and Keyshia Cole [Interscope Records].

Meanwhile, Frank Ocean’s next studio collection is expected to be released later this year via Universal Music Group / Def Jam Recordings.

The still-untitled project is expected to yield further contributions from Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston), Happy Perez (Miguel, K. Michelle) and Kevin Risto (Jennifer Lopez, Talib Kweli).

Ocean’s last album, 2012’s “Channel Orange,” debuted at number one on the US Albums Chart and delivered five hit singles in the shape of “Thinkin About You,” “Pyramids,” “Sweet Life,” “Lost” and “Super Rich Kids.”

Beyonce confirms new UK single ‘Blow’

Beyoncé has confirmed the details for her new UK single.

The singer/songwriter dubbed “Blow” as the first promotional single from her self-titled album, now available for download exclusively via iTunes.

The track was written by Beyoncé Knowles, Justin Timberlake, James Fauntleroy, Pharrell Williams, Timothy Mosley, and Jerome Harmon.

Production duties were handled by Knowles and Timbaland along with Williams, whose recent credits include “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke [Interscope Records] and “4×4” by Miley Cyrus [RCA Records].

The follow-up to 2011’s “4” boasts further alliances from Sia (Leona Lewis, Christina Aguilera), Frank Ocean (Brandy, Kanye West), The-Dream (Usher, Kelly Rowland) and Ryan Tedder (Adele, Colbie Caillat).

In related news, Pharrell confirmed additional production placements on the next albums by Kylie Minogue [Parlophone Records], Jennifer Hudson [RCA Records] and Stacy Barthe [Motown Records].

Beyonce has revealed the credits for her fifth studio album.

The singer/songwriter released the self-titled collection – which serves as the follow-up to 2011’s “4” – on December 12 without warning via iTunes.

Album producers include Pharrell (Ciara, Jennifer Hudson), Timbaland & J-Roc (Keri Hilson, Demi Lovato), Ammo (Jessie J, Selena Gomez), Detail (Lil Wayne, Kelly Rowland) and Hit-Boy (Dev, Luke James).

On the songwriting front, the “Grown Woman” star teamed up with Sia (Labrinth, Katy Perry), James Fauntleroy (Brandy, Chris Brown), Miguel (Elle Varner, Alicia Keys) and The-Dream (Usher, Celine Dion).

Viktoria Hansen writes new song for Alicia Keys

Viktoria Hansen revealed via Twitter that Alicia Keys recorded one of her songs.

The Danish singer/songwriter is known for helming tracks including “Bajan Style” by Cover Drive [Polydor Records], “Teenage Girls” by Lena [Universal Music Germany] and “For Myself” by The Saturdays [Fascination Records].

In 2006, she released her debut solo album “Lost My Balance,” which was critically acclaimed in Scandinavia and brought her to the attention of legendary record producer Barry Blue, who signed her to his company Frontline Music.

It is yet to be known whether the results of this recording session will appear on Keys upcoming studio album or an entirely different project.

As previously reported, the “New Day” singer contributed the upcoming motion picture soundtrack “12 Years a Slave,” which will be executively produced by R&B crooner John Legend.

She also performed a new song entitled “Better You, Better Me” at the 2013 Global Citizen Festival. The track was co-written by Keys along with British songstress Marsha Ambrosius and Australian producer Steve “Ace” Mostyn.

Her latest collection “Girl on Fire” debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It yielded songwriting contributions from Emeli Sande, Bruno Mars, Frank Ocean, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, and Sevyn Streeter.
