Lion Babe unveils “Impossible” music video

Lion Babe have unveiled the music video for their new single online.

The soul duo – consisting of Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman – posted the visual clip for “Impossible” to their Vevo channel on Tuesday (July 28, 2015).

Hervey and Goodman wrote “Impossible” along with Amanda Ghost (Beyonce, Kylie Minogue), Joel Compass (FKA twigs, Nicola Roberts), Shift K3Y (Jessie Ware, Tove Lo) and Linden Jay (Secaina Hudson, Paloma Faith).

Lion Babe’s debut album – featuring the Pharrell Williams-produced “Wonder Woman” – will hit stores later this year through Outsiders Recorded Music in partnership with Polydor Records (UK) and Interscope Records (US).

The still-untitled CD boasts further contributions from MNEK (Madonna, Emeli Sande), Dave Sitek (Kelis, Elliphant), Makeba Riddick (Rihanna, David Guetta), Jeff Bhasker (Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars) and Jin Jin (Raye, Little Mix).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Lion Babe have also contributed to the sophomore album by British electronic production duo Disclosure. “Caracal” will be available for download from September 25 via PMR / Island Records.

Kelis debuts new single ‘Rumble’

Kelis has debuted her new single online.

The singer/songwriter – born Kelis Rogers – posted “Rumble” to her Official SoundCloud Page on Monday (February 10, 2014).

The track – co-written by David Sitek and Todd Simon – is lifted from the artist’s upcoming album, “Food,” out on April 22 via Federal Prism / Ninja Tune.

Kelis has described the follow-up to 2010’s “Flesh Tone” as “a kind of unspoken lovefest”. The album’s unique artwork was shot by Leif Podhajsky.

Kelis schedules release date for new album ‘Food’

Kelis has scheduled the release date for her upcoming sixth album.

The singer/songwriter will release “Food” in the United States on April 28 via British independent label Ninja Tune.

The project was fully produced by David Sitek, who previously worked with the likes of Oh Land [Federal Prism], Beady Eye [Columbia Records Records], Santigold [Atlantic Records] and Lianne La Havas [Warner Bros. Records].

“Food” serves as the follow-up to 2009’s “Flesh Tone,” which featured hit singles “Acapella,” “4th of July (Fireworks),” “Scream” and “Brave.”

Among the contributors on that album were Will.i.am (Usher, Britney Spears), David Guetta (Estelle, Jennifer Hudson), Jean Baptiste Kouame (Tulisa, Chris Brown) and James Fauntleroy (Brandy, Leona Lewis).

Kelis has confirmed the title of her new album.

The singer/songwriter has dubbed her next album “FOOD” and will release it in September via Federal Prism Records.

Lead single “Jerk Ribs” was produced by David Sitek, whose credits include artists such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs [Universal Music Group / Interscope Records] and Santigold [Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records].

Other songwriters and producers expected to appear on the follow-up to 2010’s “Flesh Tone” are Toby Gad, Autumn Rowe, Oliver “Skream” Jones, Tom Neville, Matthew Burns, Dan Black, and Gary “Caspa” McCann.

Kelis collaborates with David Sitek for new song ‘Jerk Ribs’

Kelis has unveiled a new song online.

“Jerk Ribs” will be included on the singer/songwriter’s upcoming sixth album, which will be released later this year via David Sitek’s label Federal Prism.

The new project is expected to feature productions and songwriting contributions from Toby Gad, Autumn Rowe, Oliver “Skream” Jones, Tom Neville, Matthew Burns, Dan Black, and Gary “Caspa” McCann.

“Flesh Tones” – Kelis’ fifth studio album – was released in 2010 via Universal Music Group / will.i.am Music Group / Interscope Records. That release peaked at number five on the US Billboard Electronic/Dance Albums Chart.

It also spawned hit singles “Acapella,” “4th of July (Fireworks),” “Scream” and “Brave,” as well as collaborations with David Guetta, Jean Baptiste Kouame, Ryan Buendia, Michael McHenry, James Fauntleroy, Makeba Riddick, Damien “DJ Ammo” Leroy, Alessandro “Alle” Benassi and Marco “Benny” Benassi.

Mikky Ekko unveils music video for new single ‘Pull Me Down’

Mikky Ekko has unveiled the music video for his new single online.

“Pull Me Down” – written and produced by Clams Casino – is taken from the singer/songwriter’s upcoming as-yet-untitled debut album, due later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

He was recently featured on Rihanna’s new single “Stay,” off the Barbadian artist’s latest album “Unapologetic.”

Among the musicians backing Ekko – real name John Stephen Sudduth – on his debut collection are Michael Busbee (Lucie Silvas, Coco Morier), Emile Haynie (Alicia Keys, Emeli Sande), Greg Kurstin (Sky Ferreira, Lily Rose Cooper), Rick Nowels (Dido Armstrong, Charli XCX), Justin Parker (Natasha Thomas, Lana Del Rey), David Sitek (Santigold, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Fraser T.
