Stacy Barthe announces new single “You Wonder Why?”

Stacy Barthe has announced the details for her new single.

The singer/songwriter christened “You Wonder Why?” as the next promotional cut from her debut studio collection “BEcoming.”

Barthe co-wrote “You Wonder Why?” along with Shane Abrahams and Benny Cassette, who is also responsible for Miguel’s “NWA” [RCA], Mary Lambert’s “Secrets” [Capitol] and Wynter Gordon’s “Bleeding Out” [Harvest].

Cassette – born Benedetto Rotondi – also worked on the next projects by Raleigh Ritchie [Columbia], Lily Allen [Parlophone], Keri Hilson [Interscope], Sevyn Streeter [Atlantic], Elle Varner [RCA] and The Band Perry [Republic].

Barthe’s first studio collection “BEcoming” – featuring previous singles “War IV Love,” “Here I Am,” “Flawed Beautiful Creatures” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Homeschool / Motown Records.

The critically-acclaimed LP boasts further alliances with James “Malay” Ho (Alicia Keys, John Legend), Claude Kelly (Jessie J, Leona Lewis), Darhyl Camper (Mack Wilds, Tamar Braxton) and Oren Yoel (Miley Cyrus, Tori Kelly).

The singer/songwriter posted the visual clip for “Here I Am” to her official YouTube channel on Tuesday (July 21, 2015).

“Here I Am” was co-written by John Legend (Fergie, Keyshia Cole), Corey Gibson (Rihanna, Estelle), Joi Campbell (Christina Milian, Kanye West), Jesse Woodard (Brandy, Frank Ocean) and James Ho (Alicia Keys, Tori Kelly).

Barthe’s debut album “BEcoming” – featuring previous promotional cuts “Flawed Beautiful Creatures” and “Love IV Love” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Homeschool Records and Motown Records.

John Legend hits the studio with Sam Romans

John Legend has recorded new music with Sam Romans.

“Today I had the honor of working with @JohnLegend. One of the most gifted people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with,” Romans posted to his Instagram account on Wednesday (June 24, 2015).

Notable credits by the British singer, songwriter and record producer include Mary J. Blige’s “Doubt” [Capitol Records], Olly Murs’ “We Still Love” [Epic Records] and Naughty Boy’s “Home” [Virgin EMI Records].

His resume includes additional works with Kwabs [Atlantic Records], Labrinth [Syco Music], AlunaGeorge [Island Records], Melissa Steel [Atlantic Records], Ella Henderson [Syco Music] and Birdy [Atlantic Records].

Meanwhile, Legend is expected to release his fifth studio collection later this year through G.O.O.D. Music and Columbia Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly boasts productions from James “Malay” Ho (Tori Kelly, Frank Ocean), Alex Da Kid (Rihanna, Nicki Minaj) and Leon “RoccStar” Youngblood (CeeLo Green, Jennifer Hudson).

Legend’s last album, 2013’s “Love in the Future,” debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles including “Who Do We Think We Are,” “All of Me” and “You & I (Nobody in the World).”

He also serves as the executive producer for singer/songwriter Stacy Barthe’s upcoming debut album “BEcoming.” The highly-anticipated project will be available for download from July 10 through iTunes in partnership with Legend’s label Homeschool Records and Motown Records.

The singer/songwriter posted the visual clip for “War IV Love” to her Vevo channel on Tuesday (April 14, 2015).

Production duties on “War IV Love” were handled by James “Malay” Ho, whose other credits include Frank Ocean’s “Lost” [Def Jam Recordings], Alicia Keys’ “One Thing” [RCA Records] and Goapele’s “Undertow” [Skyblaze Recordings].

The track is slotted for inclusion on Barthe’s debut album, “BEcoming,” which will hit stores and digital outlets later this year via John Legend’s label Homeschool Records in conjunction with Motown Records.

Grammy-winning singer/songwriter John Legend has recorded new material with hit music producers Alex Da Kid and James “Malay” Ho.

It is yet to be known whether these sessions are intended for Legend’s upcoming fifth studio album or a different project for another artist.

Recent production credits by Alex Da Kid include Rihanna’s “American Oxygen” [Roc Nation], Nicki Minaj’s “Bed of Lies” f/ Skylar Grey [Republic Records] and Imagine Dragons’ “I Bet My Life” [KIDinaKORNER / Interscope Records].

Meanwhile, James “Malay” Ho previously co-wrote and produced hit singles “You & I (Nobody in the World)” and “Green Light” for John Legend.

His other credits include “Lost” by Frank Ocean [Def Jam Recordings], “One Thing” by Alicia Keys [RCA Records], “The Thrill is Gone” by Fantasia [J Records] and “Undertow” by Goapele [Skyblaze Recordings].

Legend’s last album, “Love in the Future,” was released in August 2013 via Columbia Records. The collection peaked to number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned international hit single “All of Me.”

Lead single “A N G E L” was produced by Darhyl “DJ” Camper, who is also responsible for Chris Brown’s “Lady in a Glass Dress” [RCA Records] and Nicki Minaj’s “Favorite” featuring Jeremih [Republic Records].

Other tracks slotted for inclusion on the album are “Flawed Beautiful Creatures,” “Hey You There,” “Eyes Wide Shut” “You Wonder Why” and “Live for Today.”
