Icona Pop reunite with MSTR ROGERS for new single “Brightside”

Icona Pop have confirmed the details for their new single online.

The Swedish duo – consisting of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo – christened “Brightside” as the first promotional cut from their upcoming third album and will release it on October 21 via iTunes and all other digital outlets.

“Brightside” was co-written and produced by MSTR ROGERS, who previously teamed up with Icona Pop on the Fransisca Hall and Anjulie Persaud-penned “In the Stars” as well as “Someone Who Can Dance.”

The Australian hitmaker’s resume boasts further works with Ella Eyre (“If I Go”), Rebecca Ferguson (“I Hope”), Demi Lovato (“Fire Starter”), Neon Jungle (“So Alive”), Bea Miller (“Fire ‘N Gold”) and Delta Goodrem (“Not Me, Not I”).

Meanwhile, Icona Pop’s next studio collection under TEN Music Group reportedly delivers additional alliances with Patrik Berger (Carly Rae Jepsen), Noonie Bao (Dua Lips), Charli XCX (Selena Gomez), Tove Lo (Ellie Goulding), Jason Evigan (Britney Spears) and Sean Douglas (Enrique Iglesias).

Their previous album, 2013’s “This Is…Icona Pop,” peaked to number thirty six on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned hit singles including “All Night,” “Just Another Night” and “I Love It.”

Icona Pop have debuted their new single online.

The Swedish electronic pop duo – composed of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo – posted the audio clip for “Someone Who Can Dance” to their YouTube channel on Wednesday (February 24, 2016).

Production duties on “Someone Who Can Dance” were handled by MSTR ROGERS, who previously teamed up with Icona Pop on the Fransisca Hall and Anjulie Persaud-assisted “In the Stars.”

His other credits include Charli XCX’s “Doing It” f/ Rita Ora [Neon Gold], Bea Miller’s “Fire N Gold” [Hollywood], Ella Eyre’s “If I Go” [Virgin EMI], Rebecca Ferguson’s “I Hope” [Syco] and Neon Jungle’s “So Alive” [RCA].

Meanwhile, Icona Pop are scheduled to release the follow-up to 2013’s “This Is… Icona Pop” later this year through TEN Music Group and Atlantic Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly features additional productions and songwriting contributions from Ricky Reed, Erik Hassle, Charli XCX, Justin Timberlake, Patrik Berger, Noonie Bao, and Sean Douglas.

Icona Pop hinted at a new collaboration with Justin Timberlake.

“3 trolls in the studio @jtimberlake,” the Swedish pop electronic duo posted to their Twitter account on Wednesday (February 17, 2016).

Timberlake’s songwriting / production resume includes works for Madonna (“Miles Away”), Beyonce (“Blow”), Rihanna (“Rehab”), Ciara (“Love Sex Magic”), Leona Lewis (“Don’t Let Me Down”), Keri Hilson (“Slow Dance”), Esmee Denters (“Love Dealer”) and Britney Spears (“What It’s Like to Be Me”).

His last studio collection, 2013’s “The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2,” topped the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned hit singles including “Take Back the Night,” “Not a Bad Thing” and “Drink You Away.”

Meanwhile, Icona Pop – consisting of members Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo – are scheduled to release the follow-up to 2013’s “This Is… Icona Pop” later this year through TEN Music Group and Atlantic Records.

The still-untitled project delivers additional alliances with Ricky Reed (Meghan Trainor), Erik Hassle (Nick Jonas), Charli XCX (Selena Gomez), Patrik Berger (Santigold), Noonie Bao (Clean Bandit) and Sean Douglas (Madonna).

Icona Pop have announced the title for their new single.

The Swedish duo – consisting of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo – christened “Emergency” as the first promotional cut from their upcoming third album.

“Emergency” – which features vocals from fellow singer and songwriter Erik Hassle – is now available for download via iTunes (US) in partnership with Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

Icona Pop’s last album, 2013’s “This Is…Icona Pop,” peaked to number thirty six on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned hit singles including “All Night,” “Just Another Night” and the Charli XCX-assisted “I Love It.”

For their new studio collection, Icona Pop have collaborated with songwriters and producers Jason Evigan (Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas), Sean Douglas (Madonna,  David Guetta) and Tove Lo (Hilary Duff, Adam Lambert).

Rita Ora works with Jarrad Rogers for new album

British singer/songwriter Rita Ora has worked with Jarrad “Jaz” Rogers on songs for her upcoming sophomore album.

The Australian hitmaker recently co-wrote and produced “Doing It” for Charli XCX along with Ariel Rechtshaid, Noonie Bao and Matthew Burns. The tracks appears on the artist’s second studio collection, “Sucker,” out now via iTunes.

He is also responsible for Ella Eyre’s “If I Go” [Virgin EMI Records], Rebecca Fergusson’s “I Hope” [Syco Music], Icona Pop’s “In the Stars” [Big Beat Records] and Neon Jungle’s “So Alive” [RCA Records].

Meanwhile, the “Grateful” star will release her next studio collection in early 2015 via Roc Nation and Columbia Records.

The still-untitled project follows 2012’s “ORA,” which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and spawned four hit singles in the shape of “R.I.P.,” “How We Do (Party),” “Shine Ya Light” and “Radioactive.”

In addition to Rogers, the highly-anticipated project reportedly boasts further contributions from Diplo, Priscilla Renea, Tommy Brown, Victoria Monet, DJ Mustard, Camille Purcell, Devonte Hynes, and Chantal Kreviazuk.

Charli XCX reunites with Justin Raisen for new song “London Queen”

Charli XCX has unveiled a new song online.

“London Queen” is lifted from the British singer/songwriter’s sophomore album, “Sucker,” out on December 16 via Neon Gold / Atlantic Records.

Production duties on “London Queen” were handled by Justin Raisen, who also teamed up with XCX on “True Romance” cuts “Nuclear Seasons,” “Take My Hand,” “Stay Away” and “Black Roses.”

As previously reported, “Sucker” yields additional alliances with Stargate (Tinashe, Bebe Rexha), Benny Blanco (Miguel, Ed Sheeran), Cashmere Cat (Maroon 5, Ariana Grande) and Robopop (Lana Del Rey, Sean Paul).

XCX – born Charlotte Aitchison – also confirmed songwriting placements on the next projects by Rihanna [SRP / Roc Nation Records], Gwen Stefani [Mad Love / Interscope Records] and Sky Ferreira [Capitol Records].

Some of her notable credits include “I Love It” by Icona Pop [Big Beat / Atlantic Records], “So Alive” by Neon Jungle [RCA Records] and “OctaHate” by Ryn Weaver [Friends Keep Secrets / Interscope Records].

Colbie Caillat reveals release date for new album “Gypsy Heart”

Colbie Caillat has revealed the release date for her new album.

The singer/songwriter is scheduled to release “Gypsy Heart” on September 30 via Universal Music Group / Republic Records.

Lead single “Try” – which was co-written and produced by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Antonio Dixon – is now available for download via iTunes.

“Gypsy Heart” – available for pre-order from 2nd September – will boast further contributions from Ross Golan (Icona Pop, Eliza Doolittle), David Hodges (Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson) and Julian Bunetta (Fifth Harmony, One Direction).

In related news, Caillat recently co-wrote “Chasing the Sun” for Hilary Duff along with Jason Reeves and Toby Gad.

Charli XCX has confirmed the details for her upcoming sophomore album.

The British singer/songwriter dubbed her new studio collection “Sucker” and will release it on October 21 via Neon Gold / Atlantic Records.

The highly-anticipated project is preceded by new single “Break the Rules,” for which the music video has recently been shot in Los Angeles with Alex Lee and Kyle Wightman of BRTHR Films.

Among the musicians backing XCX – born Charlotte Aitchison – on the follow-up to 2013’s “True Romance” are Stargate (Beyonce, Rita Ora), John Hill (Rihanna, Mikky Ekko) and Patrik Berger (Icona Pop, Lana Del Rey).

Becky Hill has drafted Jarrad “Jaz” Rogers for her upcoming debut album.

The Australian songwriter and record producer is known for helming Aiden Grimshaw’s “Is This Love” [RCA Records], Ella Eyre’s “If I Go” [Virgin EMI Records] and Alex Clare’s “Treading Water” [Island Records].

His extensive resume also includes works for Demi Lovato [Hollywood Records], Icona Pop [Big Beat Records], Rebecca Ferguson [Syco Music], Pixie Lott [Virgin EMI Records] and Little Mix [Columbia Records].

Meanwhile, the highly-anticipated debut album by Becky Hill is expected to be released later this year via Warner Music Group / Parlophone Records.

It will feature further contributions from Toby Gad, Autumn Rowe, David Hodges, Katy B, Geeneus, TMS, Iain “Sparx” James, and MNEK.

Icona Pop have unleashed the music video for their new single online.

“Just Another Night” is lifted from the Swedish duo’s latest studio album, “This Is… Icona Pop,” out now via Warner Music Group / Big Beat / Atlantic Records.

The track was written by Ross Golan, Daniel “Robopop” Omelio, Justin Parker and Benjamin “Benny Blanco” Levin along with Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen of Norwegian production duo Stargate.

Video treatment was handled by Marc Klasfeld, whose credits include “Ooh La La” by Britney Spears [RCA Records], “Her Favorite Song” by Mayer Hawthorne [Republic Records] and “Go Gentle” by Robbie Williams [Island Records].

“This Is… Icona Pop” – which is now available for download via iTunes – features previous singles “I Love It” and “All Night,” as well as contributions from Jarrad Rogers, Shellback, Elof Loelv, and Nicole “Coco” Morier.
