
British singer/songwriter Ella Henderson has selected “Ugly” as the first promotional cut from her upcoming sophomore album and will release it later this year via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.
The track was co-written by Henderson alongside fellow recording artist Sasha Sloan, whose other credits include Camila Cabello’s “Never Be the Same,” Niia Rocco’s “Nobody,” Alma’s “Phases,” Maggie Lindemann’s “Pretty Girl,” Kygo’s “This Town,” and Louis Tomlinson’s “Just Hold On.”
Production duties on “Ugly” were handled by Two Inch Punch, who is also responsible for Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Human,” Dan Caplen’s “Two Fingers,” Saya’s “Cold Fire,” JP Cooper’s “Good Friend,” Sam Smith’s “Money on My Mind,” Anne-Marie’s “Boy,” Ella Eyre’s “Deeper,” and Moko’s “With You.”
The follow-up to 2014’s “Chapter One” reportedly boasts further contributions from Moon Willis, Lindy Robbins, Robopop, Cara Salimando, Danny Parker, Kamille, Fred Ball, Jennifer Decilveo, Martin Sjolie, Dyo, Cass Lowe, Shungudzo, Fraser T. Smith, Chiara Hunter, Dallas Austin, Lauren Aquilina, Jordan Riley, MoZella, Sam Romans, Isabella Summers, JHart, and Electric Music.
As a songwriter, Henderson recently co-penned “Guilty” for Paloma Faith alongside Wayne Hector and Peter Kelleher, Benjamin Kohn, and Thomas Barnes of UK songwriting/production trio TMS. The track appears on Faith’s fourth album under Sony Music Entertainment UK, “The Architect.”
