Jamie Foxx recruits Elijah Blake for new album

Jamie Foxx has recruited Elijah Blake for his upcoming fifth studio album.

The R&B singer and songwriter – born Sean Fenton – is known for co-writing Keyshia Cole’s “Rick James” [Interscope Records], Rihanna’s “No Love Allowed” [Def Jam Recordings] and Ciara’s “DUI” [Epic Records].

In addition, he’s currently putting the final touches on his debut LP, tentatively entitled “Songs About Melody.” The highly-anticipated project will be distributed via Universal Music Group / Def Jam Recordings.

Meanwhile, the new studio album by Jamie Foxx is expected to be released later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

It serves as the follow-up to 2010’s “Best Night of My Life,” which debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and delivered hit singles including “Winner” and the Drake-assisted “Fall for Your Type.”

Among the other hitmakers backing the “Unpredictable” star on the still-untitled project are Mike WiLL Made It (Brandy, Mariah Carey), Lonny Bereal (Chris Brown, Teyana Taylor), will.i.am (Usher, Nicole Scherzinger), Kevin Cossom (Mary J. Blige, Keri Hilson) and Kanye West (Beyonce, John Legend).

Jamie Foxx has recruited Kevin Cossom for his upcoming fifth studio album.

Cossom is known for penning material for Trey Songz [Songbook / Atlantic Records], Keri Hilson [Mosley Music Group / Interscope Records], Keyshia Cole [Geffen Records] and John Legend [Columbia Records].

Some of his notable songwriting credits are “Jump” by Rihanna [Island Records], “Down on Love” by Kelly Rowland [Republic Records], “I Care for U” by Usher [RCA Records] and “No Condition” by Mary J. Blige [Geffen Records].

Meanwhile, the still-untitled LP by Jamie Foxx serves as the follow-up to 2010’s “Best Night of My Life,” which debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and delivered the Drake-assisted hit single “Fall for Your Type.”

In addition to Cossom, the “Blame It” star also teamed up with will.i.am (Ciara, Mariah Carey), Kanye West (Brandy, Janet Jackson), Lonny Bereal (Tank, Chris Brown) and Mike WiLL Made It (Future, LeToya Luckett).

The super producer – real name Michael Williams – is known for helming tracks such as “Pour it Up” by Rihanna [Island Def Jam Recordings], “Kisses Down Low” by Kelly Rowland [Republic Records] and “Do You Know What You Have” by Brandy [Chameleon Entertainment / RCA Records].

He also confirmed placements on the new projects by Monica [RCA Records], Ciara [Epic Records], Miley Cyrus [RCA Records], Nicole Scherzinger [Interscope Records] and Mariah Carey [Island Def Jam Recordings].

Meanwhile, the new collection by Foxx serves as the follow-up to 2010’s “Best Night of My Life.” That release debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. R&B crooner Jamie Foxx has started the process of recording his upcoming as-yet-untitled fifth studio album, which serves as the follow-up to 2010’s “Best Night of My Life” [Sony Music Entertainment / J Records].

Songwriting duties on the new collection are headed by Joseph “Lonny” Bereal, who previously teamed up with Foxx on tracks such as “All Said and Done,” “Let Me Get You on Your Toes,” “Love Brings Change,” “Overdose,” “Sleeping Pill” and “Yup Dat’s Me (featuring Ludacris & Soulja Boy).”

Other songwriting credits by Bereal include “Strip” by Chris Brown featuring Kevin “K-Mac” McCall [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records], “Keep It Between Us” by Kelly Rowland [Universal Music Group / Republic Records] and “Nuclear” by Destiny’s Child [Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records].

Kanye West has previously helmed tracks such as “My Baby” by Janet Jackson [EMI Music Group / Virgin Records], “Stay the Night” by Mariah Carey [Universal Music Group / Island Def Jam Recordings] and “Party” by Beyonce Knowles [Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records].
