Ray BLK connects with RAYE for new collaboration

British singer/songwriter Rita Ekwere, professionally known as Ray BLK, has teamed up with fellow recording artist RAYE for a new collaboration.

Born Rachel Keen, the “You Don’t Know Me” star previously co-penned songs for Charli XCX (“After the Afterparty”), Tara Carosielli (“Money”), Matoma (“The Wave”), Blonde (“Just for One Night”), M.O (“Not in Love”), 5 After Midnight (“Up in Here”) and Snakehips (“Don’t Leave”).

In addition to working on her upcoming project under Polydor Records, RAYE has also contributed to the next releases by Jess Glynne [Atlantic], Rihanna [Roc Nation], Little Mix [Syco Music], Rita Ora [Atlantic], Mabel McVey [Polydor], Era Istrefi [Ultra Music], Rudimental [Atlantic], Anne-Marie [Asylum], Naughty Boy [Virgin EMI] and Ellie Goulding [Polydor].

Meanwhile, BLK’s upcoming project – featuring current promotional single “Doing Me” – is scheduled to arrive later this year via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The follow-up to 2016’s “Durt” delivers additional alliances with Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith), Gina Kushka (Kylie Minogue), Tom Havelock (Kwabs), Paul Epworth (FKA twigs), Chris Loco (Maverick Sabre), Jin Jin (Dido), MNEK (Tinie Tempah) and Cass Lowe (Leona Lewis).

Vance Joy announces new single “Lay it On Me”

Vance Joy has announced the details for his new single.

The Australian singer/songwriter – born James Gabriel Keogh – christened “Lay it On Me” as the first promotional cut from his upcoming sophomore album under Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The track was written by Vance Joy alongside American Grammy nominated multi-platinum musician Dave Bassett, whose credits also include Elle King’s “Ex’s & Oh’s,” Shinedown’s “Second Chance,” Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song,” Daughtry’s “Torch,” and Halestorm’s “Love Bites (So Do I).”

Other songwriters expected to appear on the follow-up to 2014’s “Dream Your Life Away” are Ross Golan (Charlie Puth), Jin Jin (RAYE), Ammar Malik (Shawn Mendes), Ryn Weaver (Jojo), Danny Parker (Jessie Ware), Charli XCX (Ricky Reed), Justin Tranter (Nick Jonas) and Julia Michaels (Labrinth).

On the production front, Joy has reportedly worked with Jason Evigan (Andy Grammer), Cashmere Cat (Kacy Hill), Nolan Lambroza (Jason Derulo), Teddy Geiger (Christina Aguilera), Benny Blanco (Ed Sheeran), Happy Perez (Demi Lovato) and Justin Parker (Conrad Sewell).

Rita Ora collaborates with Chris Martin for new album

Rita Ora has collaborated with fellow recording artist Chris Martin for her upcoming sophomore album.

The co-founder and lead singer of the British rock band Coldplay recently co-penned “Homesick” for Dua Lipa’s self-titled debut album under Warner Bros. Records, out now via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

His resume boasts additional songwriting credits including Brandy’s “I Tried,” Nelly Furtado’s “All Good Things Come to An End,” Jamelia’a “See it a Boy’s Eyes,” Kylie Minogue’s “Every Day’s Like Christmas,” Natalia Imbruglia’s “Want,” K’naan’s “Better,” and Beverley Knight’s “First Time.”

Meanwhile, Ora is scheduled to release her second studio collection – featuring the Ed Sheeran-penned / Steve Mac-produced “Your Song” – later this year via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records UK.

Other musicians expected to appear on the follow-up to 2012’s “ORA” are Digital Farm Animals, Chelcee Grimes, Jimmy Napes, Diana Gordon, Leon Thomas, Jin Jin, Sam Romans, Max McElligott, Ali Tamposi, Brian Lee, Eyelar, Andrew Watt, Julia Michaels, Dallas K, Charli XCX, Jake Gosling, RAYE, Ammar Malik, MØ, Justin Tranter, Louis Bell, and Stargate.

Ella Eyra taps Fransisca Hall, Jesse Shatkin for new single “Ego”

Ella Eyre has confirmed the title for her new single.

The British singer/songwriter – born Ella Mary McMahon – dubbed “Ego” as the first promotional cut from her upcoming sophomore album and will release it later this year via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

The track was written by Eyre alongside Fransisca Hall and Jesse Shatkin, who are also behind Cheryl’s “Waiting for Lightning,” Kelly Clarkson’s “In the Blue,” Foxes’ “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now,” Jasmine Thompson’s “Crystal Heart,” Indiana’s “Play Dead,” and Lea Michele’s “Believer.”

Other songwriters expected to appear on the follow-up to 2015’s “Feline” are Harloe, Lauren Christy, Ilsey Juber, Emily Warren, Jin Jin , Becky Hill, Steph Jones, Dayo Olatunji, Sarah Aarons, Grace Barker, Caroline Ailin, Gina Kushka, Sean Douglas, Nate Campany, Philip Plested, Evan Bogart, and Sam Preston.

On the production front, Eyre has worked with Jason Evigan, Amish “ADP” Patel, Jonny Coffer, Toby Gad, Emanuel Kiriakou, Jarrad Rogers, Andrew Goldstein, Jonas Jeberg, Two Inch Punch, Joel Little, Paul O’Duffy, Jim Duguid, Kid Harpoon, Crada, and Mojam Music.

Jess Glynne drafts Ed Sheeran for sophomore album

British singer/songwriter Jess Glynne has drafted fellow recording artist Ed Sheeran for her upcoming sophomore album.

Sheeran co-wrote “Woman and Like Me” and “Thursday” for Glynne alongside regular collaborator Steve Mac, as registered on ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).

In addition to Sheeran’s global hit “Shape of You,” which topped both the UK and US Singles Chart, Sheeran and Mac wrote songs for other artists including Rita Ora (“Your Song”), Liam Payne (“Strip that Down”) and Zara Larsson (“Don’t Let Me Be Yours”).

Mac also produced and co-wrote “Take Me Home” for Glynne alongside Wayne Hector and Nick Tsang. The track, which appears on Glynne’s debut album “I Cry When I Laugh,” peaked to number six on the UK Singles Chart.

Glynne’s second studio collection, on the other hand, is expected to arrive later this year via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The still-untitled collection reportedly delivers additional alliances with Toby Gad (Craig David), Jin Jin (Ray BLK), Starsmith (Foxes), Talay Riley (Nick Jonas), GRADES (Kwabs), Sam Romans (John Legend), Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles), Justin Tranter (Imagine Dragons) and Kamille (David Guetta).

British singer/songwriter Rita Ekwere, professionally known as Ray BLK, has teamed up with fellow recording artist Dan Caplen for his new single “Flat Champagne,” which will arrive on June 30 via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was written by Dan Caplen and Daniel “Bnann” Watts alongside Jordan Riley, who also co-penned and produced songs on the next projects by Dakota, Ella Henderson, KStewart, Grace Carter, L Devine, Nina Nesbitt, Raphaella, Becky Hill, Calum Scott, Mullally, and Zak Abel.

Meanwhile, BLK’s upcoming studio collection – featuring the Jimmy Napes-assisted “Doing Me” – is scheduled to arrive later this year.

The follow-up to 2016’s “Durt” reportedly boasts further contributions from Paul Epworth (Bruno Marks) Chris Loco (Erik Hassle), Janee “Jin Jin” Bennett (Craig David), MNEK (Tinie Tempah), Cass Lowe (Sam Smith).

Kamille has teased a new collaboration with Anne-Marie.

“Playing the piano while Anne-Marie sings some lovely tings,” the British singer-songwriter (real name Camille Purcell) posted to her Instagram.

Kamille’s songwriting resume boasts works with Little Mix (“Power”), Ella Henderson (“Glow”), Fleur East (“Sax”), Olly Murs (“Grow Up”), Cheryl (“Throwback”), Neiked (“Call Me”) Leona Lewis (“Mr. Right”), The Saturdays (“What About Us”), Sigma (“Find Me”) and Jessie J (“Hero”).

She has also contributed to the next projects by Jessie Ware, Rudimental, The Script, David Guetta, Louis Tomlinson, Jess Glynne, Ella Henderson, Rita Ora, Tamera Foster, Sigala, Era Istrefi, Calum Scott, Wiz Kid, and Ella Eyre.

Meanwhile, Anne-Marie is expected to release her first studio collection – featuring singles “Ciao Adios,” “Alarm” and “Do it Right” – later this year via Major Tom’s Music and Asylum Records.
