Jazmine Sullivan returns with new single “Lost One”

American singer/songwriter Jazmine Sullivan has released her new single online.

“Lost One” – which was written by Sullivan alongside Dave “Pop” Watson – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Google Music and all other digital streaming platforms.

Sullivan’s upcoming EP – which reportedly features productions and songwriting contributions from Nova Wav (aka Denisia Andrews and Brittany Coney), Janee “Jin Jin” Bennett, James “Malay” Ho, Jenna Andrews, and Justin Timberlake – is expected to arrive later this year via RCA Records.

Jazmine Sullivan teases spring release for upcoming EP

Jazmine Sullivan has teased a spring release for her upcoming EP.

“So I’ve been quiet for a min. And by a minute I mean 5 years. But I just recently experienced something that has rocked my world and turned it upside down. Life is funny like that. And I’m almost sure it’s leading me on a patch that will inspire an album. t for now, an EP is on the way. Probably spring release. Love you all,” the American singer/songwriter posted to Instagram.

Sullivan’s most recent album, 2015’s “Reality Show,” peaked to number twelve on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles “Dumb,” “Forever Don’t Last” and “Let it Burn.”

Since then, she has recorded new music with fellow recording artist Justin Timberlake as well as songwriters and producers Malay (Tori Kelly, Frank Ocean), Janee “Jin Jin” Bennett (Raye, Craig David), Nova Wav (Kehlani, Teyana Taylor) and Jenna Andrews (Tamia, Elle Varner).

As a songwriter, Sullivan is known for co-writing Mary J. Blige’s “Thick of It,” Christina Milian’s “Say I,” Tamia’s “Still Love You,” Monica’s “Everything to Me,” Faith Evans’ “He Is,” Candice Glover’s “Cried,” Jessica Sanchez’s “Drive By,” and Jennifer Hudson’s “I’m His Only Woman.”

American singer/songwriter Jazmine Sullivan has teamed up with Janee “Jin Jin” Bennett and Jenna Andrews for a new collaboration.

Jin Jin’s recent songwriting credits include Jess Glynne’s “One Touch,” Madison Beer’s “All Day and Night,” Raye’s “Put Your Phone Down (Low),” Nina Nesbitt’s “Love Letter,” Don Diablo’s “Brave,” and Blue DeTiger’s “Mad Love.”

Meanwhile, Andrews has penned songs for Little Mix (“Motivate”), Tori Kelly (“Bottled Up”),  Jessie J (“Personal”), Lily Allen (“Everything to Feel Something”), Noah Cyrus (“I’m Stuck”), Banks (“Weaker Girl”),  Tamia (“You Give Me Something”) and Jordan Fisher (“All About Us”).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Sullivan is expected her fourth album – featuring further contributions from Justin Timberlake and James “Malay” Ho – later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up to 2015’s “Reality Show,” which peaked to number twelve on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles “Dumb,” “Forever Don’t Last” and “Let it Burn.”

On the songwriting front, Sullivan is responsible for co-writing Mary J. Blige’s “Thick of It,” Christina Milian’s “Say I,” Tamia’s “Still Love You,” Monica’s “Everything to Me,” Faith Evans’ “He Is,” Candice Glover’s “Cried,” Jessica Sanchez’s “Drive By,” and Jennifer Hudson’s “I’m His Only Woman.”

Jazmine Sullivan has teamed up with label mate Justin Timberlake for a new collaboration.

It is yet to be known whether the session was intended for an upcoming Timberlake project or Sullivan’s next studio collection.

As a songwriter, Timberlake has penned songs for Keri Hilson (“Slow Dance”), Ciara (“Love Sex Magic”), Beyonce (“Blow”), Rihanna (“Rehab”), Madonna (“Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You”), Britney Spears (“What It’s Like to Be Me”), Leona Lewis (“Don’t Let Me Down”) and Esmee Denters (“Love Dealer”).

Timberlake’s latest album “Man of the Woods” – featuring singles “Filthy,” “Supplies” and “Say Something” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Meanwhile, Sullivan is expected her fourth album – featuring contributions from James “Malay” Ho – later this year via Sony Music / RCA Records.

Brandy reunites with LaShawn Daniels, Harvey Mason Jr. for new collaboration

American singer, songwriter, and actress Brandy Norwood (known mononymously as Brandy) has reunited with Harvey Mason Jr. and LaShawn “Big Shiz” Daniels for a new collaboration.

Mason Jr. previously co-produced and co-wrote “Truthfully” alongside Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Marc Nelson, and Brad Gilderman. The track appears on Brandy’s sophomore studio collection, “Never Say Never” (1998), which peaked to number two on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Meanwhile, Daniels is responsible for co-writing fan favorites including “Fall” and “Nothing,” as well as international hit singles “The Boy is Mine” (featuring Monica), “Top of the World” (featuring Mase) and “What About Us.”

Brandy, on the other hand, is scheduled to release her seventh album – featuring further contributions from Darhyl “DJ” Camper, Kelly Rowland, Fantasia, and Jazmine Sullivan – later this year via Primary Wave / eOne Music.

The still-untitled project follows 2012’s “Two Eleven,” which topped the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and spawned two singles in the shape of “Wildest Dreams” and the Chris Brown-featuring “Put it Down.”

Mary J. Blige selects “Set Me Free” as new promotional single

Mary J. Blige has announced the details for her new single.

The American R&B singer/songwriter christened “Set Me Free” as the next promotional cut from her latest album “Strength of a Woman,” now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

The Darhyl “DJ” Camper-produced track was co-written by Jazmine Sullivan alongside Prince Charlez, whose other credits include K. Michelle’s “Talk to God,” Rihanna’s “Needed Me,” Grace’s “Hell of a Girl,” Trey Songz’s “Song Goes Off,” Beyonce’s “Ring Off,” and Zedd & Liam Payne’s “Get Low.”

Featuring previous singles “Thick of It” and the Kanye West-assisted “Love Yourself,” the follow-up to 2015’s “The London Sessions” peaked to number three on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Mary J. Blige has delivered her new album online.

“Strength of a Woman” – featuring singles “Thick of It,” “Love Yourself” and “U + Me (Love Lesson)” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The follow-up to 2014’s “The London Sessions” boasts productions from Darhyl Camper Jr., HIT-BOY, Teddy Riley, B.A.M., Cainon Lamb, Derrick Baker, Neff-U, William Tyler, Kaytranada, BadBadNotGood, and Raphael Saadiq.

Current single “U + Me (Love Lesson)” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Seven songs on the follow-up to 2014’s “The London Sessions” were produced by Brandon “B.A.M.” Hodge, whose credits include Kandace Springs’ “Love Got in the Way,” Sevyn’s “Shoulda Been There,” Ne-Yo’s “Congratulations,” K. Michelle’s “Love ‘Em All,” and Trey Songz’s “What’s Best for You.”

The track was co-written by Charles “Prince Charlez” Hinshaw, whose other credits include Rihanna’s “Needed Me,” Beyonce’s “Ring Off,” Usher’s “More,” Jessica Mauboy’s “Beautiful,” and GRACE’s “Hell of a Girl.”

Production duties “U + Me (Love Lesson)” were handled by Brandon “B.A.M.” Hodge, who is also responsible for Kandace Springs’ “Love Got in the Way,” Sevyn’s “Shoulda Been There,” Ne-Yo’s “Congratulations,” K. Michelle’s “Love ‘Em All,” and Trey Songz’s “What’s Best for You.”
