Normani drafts Pharrell Williams for debut album

American singer/songwriter Normani Kordei, known mononymously as Normani, has enlisted Pharrell Williams for her upcoming debut album.

Williams’s recent songwriting and production credits include Ariana Grande’s “The Light is Coming,” Travis Scott’s “Skeletons,” Janelle Monae’s “I Got the Juice,” Camila Cabello’s “Sangria Wine,” Justin Timberlake’s “Man of the Woods,” and The Carters’ “Apeshit.”

His last studio collection under Columbia Records, 2014’s “Girl,” debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles including “Marilyn Monroe,” “Come Get it Bae” and “Gust of Wind.”

Meanwhile, Normani current single “Waves” – featuring 6LACK – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

For her upcoming debut album under Keep Cool / RCA Records, Normani has also worked with producers Stargate, Boi-1da, D’Mile, Joel Little, The-Dream, Nova Wav, Jahaan Sweet, London on Da Track, DJ Mustard, and The Rascals.

Lennon Stella delivers debut mini-album “Love, me”

Lennon Stella has delivered her debut mini-album online.

“Love, me” – featuring five songs in the shape of “Bad,” “Breakaway,” “Feelings,” “La Di Da” and “Fortress” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The new project yields productions and songwriting contributions from Greg Kurstin, Maureen “MoZella” McDonald, Joel Little, Emily Warren, Ajay “Stint” Bhattacharyya, Hayley Gene Penner, Jarryd James, Kennedi Lykken, and Busbee.

Normani taps Calvin Harris for new singles “Checklist” and “Slow Down”

Normani has tapped the production services of Calvin Harris for her new singles.

“Checklist” (which was co-written by Starrah) and “Slow Down” (which was co-written by Jessie Reyez) are now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Besides recently topping the UK Singles Chart with Sam Smith (“Promises”) and Dua Lipa (“One Kiss”), Harris also wrote and produced tracks for Rihanna (“We Found Love”), Kylie Minogue (“Too Much”), Sophie Ellis Bextor (“Off and On”), Rita Ora (“I Will Never Let You Down”) and Mary J. Blige (“One Life”).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Normani is currently working on her upcoming debut album under Keep Cool / RCA Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly delivers further productions from Stargate, Boi-1da, DJ Mustard, Nova Wav, Jahaan Sweet, London on Da Track, Joel Little, Sevn Thomas, D’Mile, Jimmy Napes, and Sons of Sonix.

American singer/songwriter Normani Kordei has drafted Joel Little and Teddy Geiger for a new collaboration.

Little is known for co-writing and producing singles performed by Shawn Mendes (“Youth”), Daya (“Safe”), Kesha (“This is Me”), Bebe Rexha (“The Way I Are”), Lorde (“Green Light”) and Khaled (“Young, Dumb & Broke”).

Meanwhile, Geiger’s songwriting and production resume boasts works with Christina Aguilera (“Unless it’s With You”), Sean Paul (“Jump On It”), Anne-Marie (“Machine”), Tiesto (“Summer Nights”) and James Blunt (“Bartender”).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Normani is currently working on her debut project under Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

The still-untitled collection reportedly yields additional alliances with Nova Wav, Sevn Thomas, Raye, Jahaan Sweet, Victoria Monet, D’Mile, Caroline Ailin, Justin Tranter, KiTo, Boi-1da, Tayla Parx, August Rigo, Starrah, London on Da Track, Nija Charles, Rasool Diaz, Jorgen Odegard, and Stargate.

Daya releases new promotional single “Safe”

American singer/songwriter Grace Martine Tandon, known professionally as Daya, has released her new promotional single online.

“Safe” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Laleh Pourkarim, whose other credits include Demi Lovato’s “Stone Cold,” Tori Kelly’s “Should’ve Been Us,” Ellie Goulding’s “Lost and Found,” and Shawn Mendes’ “Like This.”

Production duties on “Safe” were handled by Joel Little, who is also responsible for Lorde’s “Royals,” Khalid’s “Young, Dumb & Broke,” Imagine Dragons’ “Whatever it Takes,” and Bebe Rexha’s “The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody).”

Daya’s upcoming sophomore album – featuring previous promotional single “New” – is scheduled to arrive later this year via Interscope Records.

Lennon Stella teams up with Mojam Music for new collaboration

Canadian singer/songwriter Lennon Stella has teamed up with Mustafa Omer and James Murray of Mojam Music for a new collaboration.

The British songwriting and production duo are responsible for singles including Plan B’s “In the Name of Man,” Tom Walker’s “Heartland,” James Arthur’s “Get Down,” Conor Maynard’s “Talking About,” Sam Smith’s “Like I Can,” Naughty Boy’s “Should’ve Been Me,” and Sinead Harnett’s “Do It Anyway.”

Mojam have also contributed to the next projects by Rak-Su, Yungen, Zak Abel, Mack Wilds, Wens, Tori Kelly, Ben Platt, Kah-Lo, Rozzi Crane, Nstasia, Ella Henderson, Kranium, Bobii Lewis, Nina Nesbitt, Elderbrook, Christian Leave, Bugzy Malone, JP Cooper, Dolapo, Bibi Bourelly, and L Devine.

Meanwhile, Stella is expected to release her debut project later this year via Barry Weiss’ label RECORDS in partnership with Columbia Records.

Shawn Mendes releases new self-titled album

Shawn Mendes has released his third album online.

The self-titled collection – featuring singles “In My Blood,” “Lost in Japan,” “Youth,” “Where Were You in the Morning,” and “Nervous” – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

On the follow-up to 2016’s “Illuminate,” Mendes has reunited with regular collaborators Teddy Geiger, Scott Harris, and Geoffrey Warburton.

Other musicians backing Mendes on the album are Joel Little, Ryan Tedder, Zach Skelton, Ed Sheeran, Johnny McDaid, Julia Michaels, Ian Kirkpatrick, Nate Mercereau, Amy Allen, Louis Bell, Fred Gibson, and John Mayer.
