John Legend hits the studio with Dan Wilson, Warren “Oak” Felder

John Legend has drafted the songwriting and production services of Dan Wilson and Warren “Oak” Felder for an upcoming project.

Having previously worked with Legend on “You & I (Nobody in the World),” Wilson’s extensive songwriting resume boasts additional collaborations with Adele (“Someone Like You”), Halsey (“Alone”), LeAnn Rimes (“Borrowed”), Taylor Swift (“Treacherous”) and Pink (“The Great Escape”).

Meanwhile, Felder’s recent production credits include Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry,” Bea Miller’s “To the Grave,” Andy Grammer’s “This Ain’t Love,” Betty Who’s “Some Kinda Wonderful,” ZZ Ward’s “Ghost,” Kehlani’s “Distraction,” Britney Spears’ “Clumsy,” and Jordan Fisher’s “Counterfeit.”

Legend’s latest studio collection “Darkness and Light” – featuring promotional singles “Love Me Now,” “Penthouse Floor” and “Surefire” – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

He also provided guest vocals on the Zak Abel-penned / TMS-produced cut “I’ll Be Gentle,” taken from Paloma Faith’s chart-topping album “The Architect.”

John Legend enlists Raye for new collaboration

John Legend has enlisted fellow recording artist Raye for a new collaboration.

The British singer/songwriter (born Rachel Keen) recently co-wrote “If I Had My Way” for Little Mix alongside fellow recording artist Sam Romans and Thomas Barnes, Benjamin Kohn and Peter Kelleher of UK production team TMS.

Raye’s songwriting resume boasts additional works with Justine Skye (“Don’t Think About It”), Dev (“Come at Me”), Tara Carosielli (“Money”), Charli XCX (“After the Afterparty”), Tieks (“Say a Prayer”), Blonde (“All Cried Out”), M.O (“Not in Love”), 5 After Midnight (“Up in Here”), SG Lewis (“Yours”), Matoma (“The Wave”) and Snakehips (“Don’t Leave”).

Meanwhile, Legend’s latest studio collection “Darkness and Light” – featuring promotional singles “Love Me Now,” “Penthouse Floor” and “Surefire” – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

John Legend reunites with Toby Gad for “Fifty Shades Darker” soundtrack

John Legend has reunited with songwriter-producer Toby Gad for a new song entitled “One Woman Man,” taken from the original motion picture soundtrack “Fifty Shades Darker,” out on February 10 via Universal Music Recordings.

The pair previously teamed up on “All of Me,” taken from Legend’s fourth studio collection, “Love in the Future.” The track topped the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and peaked to number two on the UK Singles Chart.

Fans of Gad’s work should also keep an eye on the next projects by Sheryl Crow, The Veronicas, Betty Who, Charlie Puth, Louisa Johnson, Ella Eyre, Jess Glynne, Lea Michele, Clean Bandit, Molly Kate Kestner, and The Script.

Meanwhile, the original motion picture soundtrack for “Fifty Shades Darker” delivers further guest appearances from Sia (“Helium”), Halsey (“Not Afraid Anymore”), Tove Lo (“Lies in the Dark”), Frances (“What is Love”), Nick Jonas (“Bom Bidi Bom”) and Corinne Bailey Rae (“The Scientist”).

The highly-anticipated collection also boasts productions and songwriting contributions from Christopher Braide (Lana Del Rey), Breyan Isaac (Jason Derulo), Ali Tennant (Craig David), Talay Riley (Kelela), Jack Antonoff (Lorde) and Sam Dew (Jessie Ware).

The follow-up to 2013’s “Love in the Future” delivers songwriting contributions from Tobias Jesso Jr. (Adele), Julia Michaels (Selena Gomez), Justin Tranter (Nicole Scherzinger) and Tyler Johnson (Miley Cyrus).

Album producers are Blake Mills (Laura Marling), Greg Kurstin (Sia), John Henry Ryan (Colbie Caillat), Francis “Eg” White (Sam Smith), Ludwig Göransson (Childish Gambino) and BloodPop (Lady GaGa).

“I Know Better” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written and produced by Legend alongside Blake Mills, who previously teamed up with the artist on hit single, “Love Me Now.”

John Legend has enlisted Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter for his upcoming fifth album, “Darkness and Light,” which will hit stores and digital streaming outlets on December 2 via GOOD Music / Columbia Records.

Michaels and Tranter co-wrote “Love You Anyway” and “What You Do to Me” for Legend alongside Tyler Johnson, Blake Mills and Matt Sweeney, respectively.

The songwriting duo are also responsible for singles performed by Britney Spears (“Slumber Party”), Gwen Stefani (“Make Me Like You”), Justin Bieber (“Sorry”), Selena Gomez (“Hands to Myself”), Nicole Scherzinger (“Run”), Pia Mia (“Touch”) and Nick Jonas (“Close”).

In addition Michaels and Tranter, “Darkness and Light” delivers additional alliances with Greg Kurstin (Sia, Kylie Minogue), Tobias Jesso Jr. (Adele, Jarryd James) and John Henry Ryan (Colbie Caillat, One Direction).

John Legend has announced the details for his new single.

The singer-songwriter christened “Penthouse Floor” – featuring Chance the Rapper – as the second promotional cut from his upcoming fifth studio collection under GOOD Music / Columbia Records, “Darkness and Light.”

Legend co-wrote “Penthouse Floor” along with the song’s producer Greg Kurstin, whose other credits include Adele (“Hello”), Frances (“Say it Again”), Sia (“Cheap Thrills”), Niall Horan (“This Town”), Gwen Stefani (“Send Me a Picture”) and Carly Rae Jepsen (“Boy Problems”).

“Darkness and Light,” on the other hand, will arrive on December 2 via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other streaming platforms.
