Stacy Barthe debuts new song “Live for Today”

Stacy Barthe has debuted a new song online.

The R&B singer/songwriter posted the audio clip for “Live for Today” – featuring Common – to her SoundCloud channel on Tuesday (January 13, 2015).

“Live for Today” was produced by Benny Cassette, whose other credits include Miguel [RCA Records], Keri Hilson [Interscope Records], Mary Lambert [Capitol Records], Sevyn Streeter [Atlantic Records] and Elle Varner [RCA Records].

The track is slotted for inclusion on the Barthe’s debut CD, “BEcoming,” out on March 3 via John Legend’s label Homeschool Records and Motown Records.

Other album contributors are Salaam Remi (Jazmine Sullivan, Mack Wilds), Pharrell Williams (Ciara, Justin Timberlake), James “Malay” Ho (Alicia Keys, Frank Ocean) and Darhyl “DJ” Camper (Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj).

As a songwriter, Barthe recently co-penned Teyana Taylor’s “Outta My League” [Def Jam Recordings] and K. Michelle’s “Build a Man” [Atlantic Records]. She also contributed to the next projects by Brandy and Kandace Springs.

Alex & Sierra confirm John Legend for debut album

Alex & Sierra have confirmed John Legend for their upcoming debut album.

The R&B crooner – born John Stephens – has previously penned tracks for other artists including Keyshia Cole (“I Changed My Mind”), Estelle (“American Boy”), Chrisette Michele (“Love is You”) and Alicia Keys (“Listen to Your Heart”).

His latest album “Love in the Future” – which features hit singles “Who Do We Think We Are” and “All of Me” – is now available for download via Sony Music Entertainment / G.O.O.D. Music / Columbia Records.

In addition to Legend, the still-untitled collection by Alex & Sierra will yield further productions and songwriting contributions from Toby Gad, Autumn Rowe, John Shanks, Ruth-Anne Cunningham, and Edwin “Lil’ Eddie” Serrano.

The indie pop duo – consisting of members Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton – are scheduled to release the highly-anticipated collection later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / Syco Music / Columbia Records.

American singer/songwriter Lauriana Mae has added Stacy Barthe to the list of songwriters for her upcoming as-yet-untitled debut album, which will be released in 2013 via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

Recent songwriting credits by Barthe include “When It’s All Over” by Alicia Keys [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records], “Speak Ya Mind” by Estelle [Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records] and “Like I Love You” by Melanie Fiona [Universal Music Group / Republic Records].

The super producer – real name Matthew Kahane – has previously crafted tracks such as “I Choose You” by Keyshia Cole [Universal Music Group / Geffen Records], “Bones” by Melanie Fiona [Universal Music Group / Republic Records] and “Saviour” by Alicia Keys [Sony Music Entertainment / J Records].

Alicia Keys has previewed her upcoming fifth album online.

The American singer/songwriter will release “Girl on Fire” in the United States on November 26 via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

Lead single “Girl on Fire” was helmed by Alicia Keys along with Salaam Remi (Usher, Jazmine Sullivan) and Jeff Bhasker (Leona Lewis, Kanye West).

The new collection serves as the follow-up to 2009’s “The Element of Freedom,” which debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It also delivered three hit singles in the shape of “Doesn’t Really Matter,” “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart” and “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready).”
