K. Michelle drafts Jason Boyd for new album

K. Michelle has drafted Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd for her upcoming fourth album.

“My last studio session for my new album was spent with a genius crazy man. Wait till you guys hear this one #PooBear,” the singer-songwriter posted to Instagram on Saturday (February 04, 2017).

Boyd is known for co-writing international hit singles including “What Do You Mean” (Justin Bieber), “Where Are U Now” (Jack Ü), “She Ain’t You” (Chris Brown), “Bitch Bad” (Lupe Fiasco) and “Work” (Kelly Rowland).

His extensive resume boasts further works with Usher (“Caught Up”), Pink (“Love is Such a Crazy Thing”), Kelis (“Handful”), Ludacris (“Contagious”), Mya (“Lock U Down”), Amerie (“Just Like Me”) and Blu Cantrell (“Round Up”).

Meanwhile, K. Michelle – real name Kimberly Pate – will release her next studio collection later this year via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The follow-up to 2016’s “More Issues Than Vogue” is expected to delivers further songwriting contributions from Bianca Atterberry (Pia Mia), Rosina Russell (Dawn Richard), Claude Kelly (Brandy) and Sevyn Streeter (Alicia Keys).

On the production front, K. Michelle has teamed up with Soulshock & Karlin (Whitney Houston), Rodney Jerkins (Toni Braxton), Chuck Harmony (Mary J. Blige), Mike Dupree (Trey Songz), Lovy Longomba (Gwen Stefani) and Kam Parker (June’s Diary).

Fans of Jason Boyd’s songwriting works, on the other hand, should look out for the next projects by Jason Derulo [Warner Brothers], Rita Ora [Atlantic], Sam Smith [Capitol], Zara Larsson [Epic] and Jessie Reyez [TBA].

K. Michelle has teamed with Rodney Jerkins for a new collaboration.

“Thank you Rodney Jerkins for creating such an amazing piece. It’s crazy how one song can tell the story of so many tears,” the singer-songwriter posted to Instagram on Sunday (January 22, 2017).

Jerkins’ credits include Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough,” Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay,” Michael Jackson’s “You Rock My World,” Jennifer Lopez’s “If You Had My Love,” Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name,” Lady GaGa’s “Telephone,” and Mariah Carey’s “You’re Mine (Eternal).”

The Grammy award-winning record producer and songwriter’s resume boasts further works with Brandy (“What About Us?”), Monica (“All Eyez on Me”), Aaliyah (“Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”), Mary J. Blige (“Doubt”), Janet Jackson (“Make Me”) and Keyshia Cole (“Shoulda Let You Go”).

Meanwhile, K. Michelle is currently putting the final touches on her fourth studio collection under Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly delivers additional productions and songwriting contributions from Soulshock & Karlin, Bianca “Blush” Atterberry, Chuck Harmony, Rosina “Soaky Siren” Russell, Claude Kelly, Amber “Sevyn” Streeter, Mike Dupree, Lovy Longomba, and Kam Parker.

K. Michelle’s previous album, “More Issues than Vogue,” debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned four promotional singles in the shape of “Not a Little Bit,” “Ain’t You,” “Mindful,” and “Time.”

K. Michelle has enlisted Soulshock & Karlin for her upcoming fourth album.

The Danish production and songwriting duo – composed of Carsten Schack and Kenneth Karlin – are known for their works with Whitney Houston (“Heartbreak Hotel”), Monica (“Before You Walk Out of My Life”), Toni Braxton (“I Love Me Some Him”) and Jojo (“Leave Get Out”).

Their extensive resume boasts further works with Destiny’s Child (“Dance With Me”), Keyshia Cole (“Fallin’ Out”), 702 (“You Don’t Know”), Kelly Rowland (“Still in Love With My Ex”), Solange (“Sandcastle Disco”), Nicole Scherzinger (“Try With Me”) and Bruno Mars (“Take the Long Way Home”).

Meanwhile, K. Michelle is currently putting the final touches on her next studio collection under Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.
