Kelis hits the studio with Dyo for new collaboration

Kelis has teamed up with Dyo for a new collaboration.

The British singer/songwriter (born Dayo Olatunji) previously co-wrote songs for Fifth Harmony (“Lonely Night”), Maroon 5 (“What Lovers Do”), Fleur East (“Favourite Thing”), M.O (“Bad Vibe”), Four of Diamonds (“Name On It”), Jacob Banks (“Love Ain’t Enough”) and Iggy Azalea (“Bounce”).

Dyo’s debut single “Arena” – which was collectively produced by Jay Weathers and Parker Ighile and co-written by Alastair O’Donnell – is now available via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

Meanwhile, Kelis is expected to release her next project – featuring further contributions from Grades (Nao, Lianne La Havas), MNEK (Becky Hill, Kate Stewart) and Loxe (Sinead Harnett, Tamera Foster) – later this year.

Fans of Dyo’s songwriting works should also keep an eye on the next releases by David Guetta, Lauren Jauregui, Louise Redknapp, Ryn Weaver, Zara Larsson, Claudia Valentina, and Dan Caplen.

Kelis’ 2001 sophomore album “Wanderland” is now streaming

American singer/songwriter Kelis’ sophomore studio collection “Wanderland” is now streaming on all digital streaming outlets.

Even though the album was not released in US markets, due to Kelis’ departure from Universal Music imprint Virgin Records, “Wanderland” was available in European markets and peaked to number thirteen on the UK Albums Chart.

Entirely produced by The Neptunes (aka Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), the follow-up to 1999’s “Kaleidoscope” featured lead single “Young, Fresh n’ New,” as well as guest appearances from Pusha T (“Popular Thug”), Malice (“Daddy”), Roscoe (“Digital World”) and John Ostby (“Mr. U.F.O. Man”).

Kelis’ most recent studio collection, the David Andrew Sitek-produced “Food,” debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned two singles in the shape of “Jerk Ribs” and “Rumble.”

For her upcoming project, Kelis has teamed up with producers Daniel “Grades” Traynor (Kwabs, Lianne La Havas), Uzoechi “MNEK” Emenike (Beyonce, Christina Aguilera) and Rowan “LOXE” Perkins (Nao, Jaz Karis).

Kelis enlists MNEK, LOXE for new collaboration

American singer/songwriter Kelis Rogers, known mononymously as Kelis, has enlisted MNEK and LOXE for a new collaboration.

Born Uzoechi Emenike, MNEK is known for co-writing/producing Christina Aguilera’s “Deserve,” Jojo’s “Good Thing,” Alex Newell’s “Basically Over You,” Karen Harding’s “Say Something,” Craig David’s “Change My Love,” Little Mix’s “Touch,” Zara Larsson’s “Ain’t My Fault,” and Dua Lipa’s “IDGAF.”

Meanwhile, LOXE (born Rowan Perkins) had previously co-written and produced songs for Nao (“Love Supreme”), Jaz Karis (“Doubt My Love”), Chelou (“Out of Sight”), Tsar B (“Brazil”), Ariel (“We Bring Our Friends”), Jvck James (“Fears”), Vanessa Elisha (“Butter”) and MAAD (“Y.O.U”).

Kelis’s most recent studio collection, 2014’s “Food,” debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned two singles in the shape of “Jerk Ribs” and “Rumble.”

She also provided guest vocals on the track “Back and Forth,” taken from Italian DJ Giorgio Moroder’s fourteenth album, “Deja Vu,” out now via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

Kelis debuts music video for new single “Rumble”

Kelis has debuted the music video for her new single online.

“Rumble” marks the second promotional single from the singer/songwriter’s latest album, “Food,” out on April 21 via Ninja Tune / Federal Prism Records.

The track was written by Kelis along with Todd Simon and Dave Sitek, who also worked with the likes of Erik Hassle [Republic Records], Yeah Yeah Yeahs [Interscope Records] and Oh Land [Federal Prism Records].

“Food” serves as the follow-up to 2010’s “Flesh Tone,” which featured collaborations with will.i.am (Britney Spears, Nicole Scherzinger), Benny Benassi (Madonna, Chris Brown) and Jean Baptiste (Rihanna, Miley Cyrus).

Kelis has premiered the music video for her new single online.

“Jerk Ribs” marks the first promotional single from the singer/songwriter’s upcoming sixth studio album, “Food.”

The new collection – which serves as the follow-up to 2010’s “Flesh Tone” – is scheduled for release on April 21 via Ninja Tune / Federal Prism Records.

“Jerk Ribs” was written by Kelis and Todd Simon along with David Andrew Sitek. The latter previously worked with Santigold [Atlantic Records], Yeah Yeah Yeahs [Interscope Records] and Oh Land [Federal Prism Records].

In related news, the “Bossy” star recently landed a new show on the Cooking Channel entitled “Saucy and Sweet” and it will premiere on February 26.

Kelis debuts new single ‘Rumble’

Kelis has debuted her new single online.

The singer/songwriter – born Kelis Rogers – posted “Rumble” to her Official SoundCloud Page on Monday (February 10, 2014).

The track – co-written by David Sitek and Todd Simon – is lifted from the artist’s upcoming album, “Food,” out on April 22 via Federal Prism / Ninja Tune.

Kelis has described the follow-up to 2010’s “Flesh Tone” as “a kind of unspoken lovefest”. The album’s unique artwork was shot by Leif Podhajsky.

Kelis unleashes artwork, tracklist for new album ‘Food’

Kelis has unleashed the official artwork and tracklist for her upcoming LP.

The singer/songwriter is scheduled to release “Food” in the United States on April 22 via Ninja Tune / Federal Prism Records.

TV on the Radio’s frontman David Andrew Sitek – who previously worked with artists including Beady Eye, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santigold, Oh Land, and Lianne La Havas and – serves as the album’s executive producer.

“Food” follows Kelis’ last studio offering, 2010’s “Flesh Tone,” which was released via will.i.am Music Group / Interscope Records.

The collection delivered hit singles including the David Guetta-produced “Scream” and the James Fauntleroy-penned “Brave.”
