Mabel releases new single “Boyfriend”

British-Swedish singer/songwriter Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, known mononymously as Mabel, has released her new single online.

“Boyfriend” – which samples Marlena Shaw’s “Woman of the Ghetto” – is now available via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

The track was co-written by Mabel alongside Camille “Kamille” Purcell and Steven “Steve Mac” McCutcheon, who previously teamed up with the artist on hit singles “Don’t Call Me Up” (UK No. 3) and “Mad Love” (UK No. 8).

Mabel’s debut studio album, 2019’s “High Expectations,” debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart. She also won the award for Best Female Solo Artist at the 2020 Brit Awards.

Mabel reunites with Kamille, Steve Mac for new single “Boyfriend”

Mabel has announced the details for her new single.

The British-Swedish singer/songwriter (born Mabel Alabama McVey) dubbed “Boyfriend” as her next promotional cut and will release it on February 26 via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

The track was co-written by Camille “Kamille” Purcell and Steven “Steve Mac” McCutcheon, who previously teamed up with Mabel on hit singles “Don’t Call Me Up” (UK No. 3) and “Mad Love” (UK No. 8).

Mabel’s debut studio album, 2019’s “High Expectations,” peaked to number three on the UK Albums Chart and spawned productions from Dre Skull (“Bad Behaviour”), Al Shux (“We Don’t Say”), Fraser T. Smith (“Selfish Love”), Josh Crocker (“Not Saying”) and Snakehips (“Stockholm Syndrome”).

Mabel has shared the music video for her new single online.

The British singer/songwriter posted the visual clip for “Loneliest Time of Year” to her Vevo channel on Friday (06 December 2019).

The track was co-written by Kamille “Kamille” Purcell (Sam Smith, Lianne La Havas), Nayla “Sillkey” Nyassa (Ray BLK, Jaz Karis), Uzoechi “MNEK” Emenike (Kelis, Christina Aguilera) and Tre Jean-Marie (Ella Eyre, Paloma Faith).

Mabel’s debut studio album, “High Expectations,” was released in August this year via Polydor Records. The collection peaked to number three on the UK Albums Chart and spawned singles “Don’t Call Me Up” and “Mad Love.”

Mabel reunites with Kamille for new collaboration

British singer/songwriter Mabel McVey, known mononymously as Mabel, has reunited with fellow recording artist Kamille for a new collaboration.

Kamille previously co-wrote hit singles “Don’t Call Me Up” and “Mad Love,” taken from Mabel’s debut album, “High Expectations.” The Steve Mac-produced tracks peaked to numbers 3 and 8 on the UK Singles Chart, respectively.

Fans of Kamille’s songwriting works should also keep an eye on the next releases by Little Mix, Sam Smith, Louis Tomlinson, David Guetta, Ellie Goulding, Mullally, Liam Payne, Dua Lipa, Zara Larsson, Rihanna, and Lianne La Havas.

Meanwhile, Mabel’s upcoming project under Polydor Records reportedly features further contributions from Tre Jean-Marie (Craig David, Jacob Banks) and MNEK (Christina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue).

Kamille’s new single “Santa x4” – which was co-produced by Frank Nobel and Linus Nordstrom of Goldfingers and features RCA recording group Next Town Down – is now available via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

English singer/songwriter Mabel McVey, known mononymously as Mabel, has released her debut studio collection online.

“High Expectations” – featuring singles “Don’t Call Me Up,” “Mad Love” and “Bad Behaviour” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The highly-anticipated project boasts songwriting contributions from Marlon Roudette (Sinead Harnett), Kamille (Anne-Marie), Joel Compass (Tinashe), Sarah Aarons  (Justin Timberlake), Maria Hazell (Alma), Jimmy Napes (Alicia Keys) and Kelly Kiara (Era Istrefi).
