Mario releases new promotional single “Care for You”

American singer/songwriter Mario Barrett, known mononymously as Mario, has released his new promotional single online.

“Care for You” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Jackson Dimiglio-Wood alongside former Cherish member Felisha King, whose resume boasts additional works with Sevyn Streeter (“Before I Do”) and Tamar Braxton (“Simple Things”).

Production duties on “Care for You” were handled by Jake Gosling, who is also responsible for Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” Shawn Mendes’s “Mercy,” Paloma Faith’s “Picking Up the Pieces,” Lupe Fiasco’s “Old School Love,” Shania Twain’s “Light of My Life,” and Rebecca Ferguson’s “Waiting for Me.”

Mario’s latest studio collection “Dancing Shadows” – featuring further contributions from Daecolm, Elijah Blake, XSDTRK, Ari PenSmith, P2J, Bianca “Blush” Atterberry, J Warner, Carla Marie Williams, Pham, Guordan Banks, and Ryan McDermott – is out now via New Citizen LLC / Empire.

Mario hits the studio with Jake Gosling, Carla Marie Williams

American singer/songwriter Mario Dewar Barrett, known mononymously as Mario, has enlisted the songwriting and production services of Carla Marie Williams and Jake Gosling for an upcoming project.

Williams is known for co-writing Girls Aloud’s “The Promise,” Alesha Dixon’s “The Boy Does Nothing,” The Saturdays’ “Never Giving Up,” Naughty Boy’s “Runnin’ (Lose it All),” Beyonce’s “Freedom” (featuring Kendrick Lemar), Britney Spears’ “Private Show,” and Craig David’s “Better with You.”

Meanwhile, Gosling’s production resume boasts works with Ed Sheeran (“Lego House”), Nina Nesbitt (“Stay Out”), Shawn Mendes (“Ruin”), Hilary Duff (“Tattoo”), James Bay (“Incomplete”), Shania Twain (“Poor Me”), One Direction (“Little Things”) and Christina Perri (“Be My Forever”).

Mario, on the other hand, is expected to release his fifth studio collection, tentatively entitled “Cosmo 17,” later this year via his new independent recording label, New Citizen LLC.

The highly-anticipated project follows 2009’s “D.N.A.” (previously known as And Then There Was Me), which peaked to number nine on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles including the Sean Garrett-penned/Bangladesh-produced “Break Up” and “Thinkin’ About You.”

Mario unleashes new single ‘Fatal Distraction’

Mario has unleashed his new single online.

“Fatal Distraction” marks the second promotional single from the singer/songwriter’s upcoming fifth studio album, “Evolve,” out soon via Sony Music Entertainment / 3rd Street / RCA Records.

The track was produced by Roosevelt “Bink!” Harrell, whose credits include “Who Do We Think We Are” by John Legend featuring Rick Ross [Columbia Records] and “Next Move” by Keyshia Cole featuring Robin Thicke [Geffen Records].

Bink has also collaborated with the likes of Jamie Foxx [RCA Records], Drake [Republic Records], J. Cole [Columbia Records], Kanye West [Def Jam Recordings] and Jay-Z [Roc Nation Records].

For the follow-up to 2009’s “D.N.A,” Mario has also enlisted the production services of Jamal “Polow Da Don” Jones (Nicole Scherzinger, Usher Raymond) and Thomas “Tommy” Brown (Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Rowland).

R&B crooner Mario has collaborated with hit producer Thomas “Tommy” Brown for his upcoming album, “Restoration,” which is due later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

Recent songwriting and production credits by Brown include “Visual Love” by Chrisette Michele [Universal Music Group / Motown Records] and “Malice in Wonderland” by Victoria Monet [Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records].

He is also known for collaborating with the likes of Kelly Rowland [Universal Music Group / Republic Records], Trey Songz [Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records] and Jennifer Lopez [Universal Music Group / Capitol Records].

“Restoration” serves as the follow-up to 2009’s “D.N.A.” That release debuted at number nine on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It also delivered three hit singles in the shape of “”Break Up,” “Thinkin’ About You” and “Ooh Baby.”

The set is preceded by lead single “Somebody Else,” which features Nicki Minaj. The track was produced by Jamal “Polow Da Don” Jones, who previously teamed up with Mario on hit single “Crying Out for Me.”
