JONES hits the studio with Laconic, Tom Havelock

British singer/songwriter Cherie Jones, professionally known as JONES, has teamed up with Tom Havelock and Laconic for a new collaboration.

Notable songwriting credits by Havelock include Kwabs’ “Forgiven,” Ginny Blackmore’s “Right Spot,” Taya’s “Deeper,” Ben Haenow’s “Brother,” Cheryl’s “A Million Lights,” Eric Prydz’s “Liberate,” and Aquilo’s “Never Hurt Again.”

Composed of Daniel Goudie and Ashley Milton, Laconic’s production resume boasts works with Cover Drive (“Easy Life”), Mic Lowry (“Whiskey Kisses”), Aston Merrygold (“Jazzman”), Karen Harding (“Chemistry”), Fleur East (“Heart Attack”), Sigrid (“Deep”) and KStewart (“Face Value”).

JONES, on the other hand, is expected to release her sophomore studio collection, which follows 2016’s “New Skin,” later this year via 37 Adventures.

The still-untitled project reportedly features additional alliances with Ollie Green (Stephen Puth), Isa Machine (Ella Henderson), Starsmith (Jess Glynne), Rachel Furner (Sam Smith), Martin Sjolie (Charlotte OC), Laura Dockrill (Jessie Ware), Ed Harcourt (James Bay) and Max McElligott (Rita Ora).

Sigrid delivers music video for new single “Plot Twist”

Sigrid has delivered the music video for her new single online.

The Norwegian singer/songwriter (born Sigrid Solbakk Raabe) posted the visual clip for “Plot Twist” to her Vevo channel on Friday (July 07, 2017).

The track, which follows the Martin Sjolie-produced “Don’t Kill My Vibe,” was written by Sigrid alongside George and Henry Flint of songwriting and production duo The 23rd.

Sigrid’s upcoming project, on the other hand, is expected to arrive later this year via Universal Music Group / Island Records.

The still-untitled collection reportedly boasts productions and songwriting contributions from Future Cut (Ella Eyre), Justin Parker (Grace Carter), Electric (Little Mix), Fred Ball (Rihanna), Laconic (Antigoni Buxton), Joe Janiak (Snakehips), Al Shux (Leona Lewis) and Jonny Coffer (Emeli Sande).

Janice Kavander liberates new single “Love You Like I Should”

Swedish singer/songwriter Janice Kavander has liberated her new single online.

“Love You Like I Should” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was written by Janice alongside James “Jay” Norton, whose other credits include Clare Maguire’s “The Valley,” DJ S.K.T’s “All I Wanna Do,” Jax Jones’ “Celebrate,” Duke Dumont’s “Ocean Drive,” Symphony Hall’s “One Night Stand,” and High Contrast’s “Questions.”

Production duties on “Love You Like I Should” were handled by Andreas Soderlund, whose resume boasts further works with artists / acts including Feels Like Violence, Lilly Ahlberg, Erik Rapp, Grace Carter, Duncan de Moor, Rhys Lewis, and Elias & The Wizzkids.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Janice’s debut project – featuring previous promotional singles “Answer,” “Secrets” and “Don’t Need To” – will arrive later this year via Four Music Productions / If Music Could Talk.

Among the musicians expected to appear on the still-untitled collection are Javeon McCarthy (Sasha Keable, Julio Bashmore), Two Inch Punch (Noah Cyrus, Ella Eyre) and Martin Sjolie (Sam Smith, Charlotte OC).

Sam Smith drafts Timbaland for sophomore album

British singer/songwriter Sam Smith has drafted the production services of Timbaland for his upcoming sophomore album.

The American record producer, singer, songwriter, rapper and DJ – born Timothy Mosley – is known for his works with Missy Elliot (“Work It”), Aaliyah (“Try Again”), Justin Timberlake (“Cry Me a River”), Nelly Furtado (“Maneater”), Rihanna (“Rehab”) and Beyonce (“Drunk in Love”).

Timbaland’s extensive resume boasts further works with Ginuwine (“Pony”), Adina Howard (“Sexual Needs”), Nicole Wray (“Make it Hot”), Keri Hilson (“Return the Favor”), Demi Lovato (“All Night Long”), Jennifer Hudson (“Pocketbook”), Kelis (“Running Mate”), Brandy (“Drum Life”), Solange (“Get Together”) and Destiny’s Child (“Get on the Bus”).

Meanwhile, Smith is expected to release his sophomore studio collection in late September via Method Records and Capitol Records.

The follow-up to 2014’s “In the Lonely Hour” reportedly boasts additional productions from Jimmy Napes (Eliza Doolittle), Two Inch Punch (Rag’n’Bone Man), Malay (Frank Ocean), Cass Lowe (AlunaGeorge), Martin Sjolie (Nathan Sykes), Paul Epworth (Adele) and Joel Little (Ellie Goulding).

Among the songwriters expected to appear on the still-untitled project are Rachel Furner (Craig David), Jason Boyd (Jennifer Lopez), Levi Lennox (Zayn Malik), Johnny McDaid (Ed Sheeran) and Tobias Jesso Jr. (Kacy Hill).

Sam Smith reunites with Two Inch Punch for sophomore album

Sam Smith has reunited with Two Inch Punch for his second album.

The British musician – born Benjamin Ash – previously co-wrote and produced “Life Support,” “Safe With Me” and “Money on My Mind” (initially entitled “Do it for the Love”), which debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Other notable credits by Two Inch Punch include Ella Eyre’s “Deeper,” Lulu James’ “Sweetest Thing,” Moko’s “With You,” Anne-Marie’s “Boy,” Frances’ “Let it Out,” Louis Mattrs’ “Bow Down,” Zac Samuel’s “Never Letting Go,” Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Human,” SG Lewis’ “All Night,” JONES’ “Bring Me Down,” Becky Hill’s “Caution to the Wind,” Javeon’s “Precious,” and Years & Years’ “Desire.”

The highly-anticipated project boasts productions from Tim Anderson (BANKS), Jon Levine (Bebe Rexha), Chris Spilfogel (Halsey), Daniel Nigro (Sky Ferreira), Trevor Lawrence Jr. (Bruno Mars) and Linda Perry (Alicia Keys).

The acoustic rendition of “Darkest Hour” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was written by Charlotte OC alongside Jarrad Rogers (Demi Lovato, Rita Ora) and Sean Foreman (Kesha, Ariana Grande).

Production duties on “Darkest Hour” were handled by Tim Anderson, whose other credits include BANKS’ “Mind Games,” Sam Sparrow’s “Yellow Orange Rays,” Halsey’s “Hurricane,” and Solange’s “Sleep in the Park.”

As mentioned in earlier posts, Charlotte OC will release her sophomore studio collection “Careless People” on March 31 via Harvest Records.

The highly-anticipated project delivers further songwriters contributions from Tom Aspaul (Celeste Waite), Andrew Jackson (Ellie Goulding), Nate Campany (Tori Kelly), Daniel Nigro (Sky Ferreira) and Laura “LP” Pergolizzi (Becky Hill).
