Mikky Ekko reunites with Justin Parker for new promotional single “Fame”

Mikky Ekko has announced the details for his new single.

The American singer/songwriter (born John Stephen Sudduth) christened “Fame” as the first promotional cut from his upcoming project and will release it on October 13 via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

The track was co-written by regular collaborator Justin Parker, whose other credits include Lana Del Rey (“Video Games”), Ellie Goulding (“I Know You Care”), Kwabs (“Fight for Love”), Banks (“You Should Know Where I’m Coming From”), Keith Urban (“Shame”) and Birdy (“Deep End”).

As a songwriter, Ekko has co-penned Christina Aguilera’s “We Remain” alongside Ryan Tedder and Brent Kutzle. The track appears on the original motion picture soundtrack “Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”

Rihanna’s 2013 single “Stay,” which Ekko co-wrote with Parker, peaked to number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.

Ekko’s debut album, 2015’s “Time,” delivered contributions from Stargate (“Watch Me Rise”), Greg Kurstin (“Smile”), Noel Zancanella (“Love You Crazy”), BloodPop (“U”), Jeff Bhasker (“Burning Doves”), Clams Casino (“Comatose”), David Andrew Sitek (“Riot”) and Elof Loelv (“Mourning Doves”).

Niia liberates new promotional single “Nobody”

American singer/songwriter Niia Rocco, known mononymously as Niia, has liberated her new promotional single online.

“Nobody” – featuring Goldlink – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was written by Niia alongside Simon Wilcox (Nick Jonas, Britney Spears), Alexandra “Sasha Sloan” Yatchenko (Camila Cabello, Louis Tomlinson) and Robin Hannibal (Jacob Banks, Kacy Hill).

Niia’s debut studio collection “I” – featuring further contributions from Kid Harpoon, Mikky Ekko, Cass Lowe, and August Rosenbaum – is out now via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

Niia liberates debut album “I”

American singer, songwriter and Pianist Niia Bertino, professionally known as Niia, has liberated her debut studio collection online.

“I” – featuring “Nobody,” “Hurt You First,” “Last Night in Los Feliz” and the Jazmine Sullivan-featuring “Sideline” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The album was entirely produced by regular collaborator Robin Hannibal, whose resume boasts further works with Kendrick Lamar (“Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe”), Yuna (“Falling”), Laura Welsh (“Breathe Me In”), Quadron (“Hey Love”), Erik Hassle (“No Words”) and Chairlift (“Ch-Ching”).

Other musicians backing Niia on “I” are Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles), Simon Wilcox (Demi Lovato), Mikky Ekko (Christina Aguilera), Sasha Sloan (Camila Cabello), August Rosenbaum (Rhye), Cass Lowe (Nick Jonas) and Purple Ferdinand (Raleigh Ritchie).

Ellie Goulding reveals new song title from third album

Ellie Goulding has shared a new song title from her upcoming third album.

“Two Years” is slotted for inclusion on the British singer/songwriter’s next studio collection and follow-up to 2012’s “Halcyon” and 2013’s “Halcyon Days.”

The still-untitled project features productions from Max Martin (Adele, Celine Dion), Greg Kurstin (Pink, Lily Allen), Carl Falk (Madonna, Nicki Minaj), Diplo (Sia, Britney Spears) and Stephan Moccio (The Weeknd, Skylar Grey).

On the songwriting front, the “Burn” star has teamed up with Laleh Pourkarim (Demi Lovato, Tori Kelly), Mozella (Tinashe, Miley Cyrus), Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Alicia Keys) and Mikky Ekko (Rihanna, Christina Aguilera).

Furthermore, Goulding has recently provided guest vocals on the track “Powerful,” taken from Major Lazer’s latest album “Piece is the Mission,” now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Mad Decent Records.

Her international hit single “Love Me Like You Do,” taken from the original motion picture soundtrack “Fifty Shades of Grey,” peaked to number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.

Mikky Ekko has debuted his new single online.

The singer and songwriter – real name John Stephen Sudduth – posted the audio for “Pressure Pills” to his Vevo channel on Monday (June 01, 2015).

“Pressure Pills” was co-written by Justin Parker, whose other credits include Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” [Interscope Records], Ellie Goulding’s “I Know You Care” [Polydor Records] and Rihanna’s “Stay” [Def Jam Recordings].

Production duties were handled by Clams Casino, who is also responsible for Jhene Aiko’s “W.A.Y.S.” [Def Jam Recordings], Pia Mia’s “Fight for You” [Interscope Records] and FKA twigs’ “Hours” [Young Turks Recordings].

Ekko’s debut album “Time” – featuring hit singles “Smile” and “Pull Me Down” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with RCA Records.

Ellie Goulding drafts Sacha Skarbek, Jamie Scott for third album

Ellie Goulding has drafted the songwriting and production services of Sacha Skarbek and Jamie Scott for her upcoming third album.

Skarbek is known for co-writing “Wrecking Ball” for Miley Cyrus along with Maureen “Mozella” McDonald and Stephan Moccio. The Dr. Luke and Cirkut-produced track peaked to number one on the US Singles Chart.

Jamie Scott, on the other hand, is responsible for co-writing and / or producing One Direction’s “Story of My Life” [Columbia], Ella Henderson’s “All Again” [Syco] and Colbie Caillat’s “If You Love Me Let Me Go” [Republic Records].

As mentioned in earlier posts, Goulding’s third studio collection will hit stores later this year under Polydor Records (UK) and Interscope Records (US).

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “Halcyon,” which peaked to number nine on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles including “Anything Could Happen” and “Explosions.”

Other album contributors are Greg Kurstin (Sia, Charli XCX), Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Alicia Keys), Carl Falk (Labrinth, Enrique Iglesias), Rami Yacoub (Madonna, Britney Spears) and Mikky Ekko (Rihanna, Christina Aguilera).

Ellie Goulding has collaborated with Mozella on new music.

“Dark studio times with the bae @mozellamusic,” the British singer/songwriter posted to her official Instagram account on Tuesday (April 28, 2015).

Mozella – real name Maureen McDonald – previously co-wrote “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus [RCA], “Tumbling Down” by Tessanne Chin [Republic], “Living for Love” by Madonna [Interscope] and “Secrets” by Mary Lambert [Capitol].

Her extensive resume includes additional works for Pixie Lott [Virgin EMI], Tinashe [RCA], Rihanna [Westbury Road Entertainment / Roc Nation], Pia Mia [Interscope], Cheryl [Polydor] and Kelly Clarkson [RCA].

Meanwhile, Goulding will release her third studio collection later this year under Polydor Records (UK) and Interscope Records (US).

The follow-up to 2012’s “Halcyon” reportedly boasts further productions and songwriting contributions from Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, Stephan Moccio, Jimmy Napes, Mikky Ekko, and Greg Kurstin.

Current single “Love Me Like You Do” – taken from the original motion picture soundtrack “Fifty Shades of Grey” – is now available for download via iTunes. The track was written by Tove Lo along with Savan Kotecha, Ilya “KnocDown” Salmanzadeh, Ali Payami and Max Martin.
