Beyonce Knowles taps Shaffer “Ne-Yo” Smith for new album

Beyonce Knowles has added Ne-Yo to the list of contributors for her upcoming as-yet-untitled fifth album, which will be released in early 2013 via Sony Music Entertainment / Parkwood Entertainment / Columbia Records.

The R&B singer/songwriter – real name Shaffer Chimere Smith – previously teamed up with the artist on “B’Day” tracks “Irreplaceable,” “Welcome to Hollywood,” “Back Up,” “If” and “Flaws and All.”

His new album “R.E.D.” recently debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It features hit singles “Let’s Go,” “Don’t Make ‘Em Like You,” “Lazy Love,” “Forever Now” and “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself).”

Meanwhile, the new collection by Beyonce Knowles – which serves as the follow-up to 2011’s “4” – is confirmed to boast further songwriting contributions from Terius “The Dream” Nash (Christina Milian, Nicole Scherzinger), Miguel Pimentel (Alicia Keys, Elle Varner), Justin Timberlake (Leona Lewis, Ciara Harris) and Christopher “Frank Ocean” Breaux (John Legend, Brandy Norwood).

Producers include Kanye West (Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson), Chauncey “Hit-Boy” Hollis (Keyshia Cole, Mary J. Blige), Ryan “Alias” Tedder (Adele Adkins, Natasha Bedingfield), Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot (Fantasia Barrino, Jennifer Hudson) and Sacha Skarbek (Lana Del Rey, Jason Mraz).

Terius “The Dream” Nash, Justin Timberlake grace new album by Beyonce Knowles

Beyonce Knowles has collaborated with Justin Timberlake and Terius “The Dream” Nash for her upcoming fifth album, which is scheduled for release in early 2013 via Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records.

Justin Timberlake has previously teamed up with the singer/songwriter on “FutureSex / LoveSounds” track “Until the End of Time,” which peaked at number seventeen on the US Billboard 100 Singles Chart.

He has also co-written songs for other artists including “Slow Dance” by Keri Hilson [Universal Music Group / Interscope Records], “Love Sex Magic” by Ciara [Sony Music Entertainment / Jive Records] and “Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You” by Madonna [Warner Music Group / Maverick Records].

Meanwhile, recent songwriting and production credits by Terius “The Dream” Nash include “Sight of You” by Tulisa Contostavlos [Universal Music Group / Island Def Jam Records] and “Nobody’s Business” by Rihanna featuring Chris Brown [Universal Music Group / Island Def Jam Recordings].

American singer/songwriter Lauriana Mae has snagged the production services of Jack Splash for her upcoming debut album, which will be released in 2013 via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The super producer – real name Matthew Kahane – has previously crafted tracks such as “I Choose You” by Keyshia Cole [Universal Music Group / Geffen Records], “Bones” by Melanie Fiona [Universal Music Group / Republic Records] and “Saviour” by Alicia Keys [Sony Music Entertainment / J Records].

He also teamed up with hit musicians Angela Hunte, Cathy Dennis, Sia Furler, Thomas “Cee-Lo” Callaway, Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot, John “Legend” Stephens, Olivia “Livvi Franc” Waithe, Harold Lilly, Paloma Faith, Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, Sean “Elijah Blake” Fenton, Lundon Knighten and Andre Merritt.

The pair previously teamed up on the Robert Shea Taylor-produced “I Miss You,” taken from the artist’s previous album “4.”

Other songwriting credits by Frank Ocean include “One Thing” by Alicia Keys [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records], “Pictures” by Conor Maynard [EMI Music Group / Parlophone Records] and “Scared of Beautiful” by Brandy [Sony Music Entertainment / Chameleon Records / RCA Records].

His second album and first major release, “Channel Orange,” peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It also delivered hit singles “Thinking About You,” “Lost,” “Pyramids” and “Sweet Life.”
