Monica teams up with Akon for new song “Hustler’s Ambition”

Monica has debuted a new song online.

The singer/songwriter posted the audio clip for “Hustler’s Ambition” – featuring Akon – to her Vevo channel on Wednesday (November 25, 2015).

Production duties on “Hustler’s Ambition” were handled by DJ Dahi, whose other credits include Madonna’s “Beautiful Scars” [Interscope], Tinashe’s “Bet’ [RCA] and Kelela’s “All the Way Down” [Cherry Coffee].

As mentioned in earlier posts, Monica is scheduled to release her eighth studio collection “Code Red” on December 18 through RCA Records.

Lead single “Just Right for Me” – now available for download via iTunes – was co-written by Jocelyn “Jo’zzy” Donald (Zendaya, Chris Brown) and produced by Polow Da Don (Tamia, Jamie Foxx).

Other album contributors include Timbaland (Aaliyah), Johnta Austin (Ciara), Bryan Michael Cox (Faith Evans), Jermaine Dupri (Alicia Keys), Tami LaTrell (Keyshia Cole), Danja (K. Michelle) and Keri Hilson (Mary J. Blige).

Monica has unveiled the official artwork for her new single online.

“Just Right for Me” – featuring Lil Wayne – marks the first promotional cut from the singer/songwriter’s upcoming studio album “Code Red.”

Production duties on “Just Right for Me” – now available for download via iTunes – were handled by Polow Da Don, who previously teamed with Monica on hit singles “Here I Am” and “Without You.”

Other notable credits by Polow Da Don include Fergie’s “London Bridge” [Interscope], Ciara’s “That’s How I’m Feeling” [Epic], Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” [Republic] and Mario’s “Someone Else” [RCA].

Meanwhile, Monica is scheduled to release “Code Red” later this year through Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

The follow-up to 2012’s “New Life” boasts additional productions from Jermaine Dupri (Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey), Bryan Michael Cox (Tamia, Faith Evans), Timbaland (Beyonce, K. Michelle) and Danja (Usher, Keri Hilson).

Monica has announced the title for her new single.

The R&B songstress christened “Just Right for Me” – featuring Lil Wayne – as the first promotional cut from her upcoming studio album “Code Red.”

Production duties on “Just Right for Me” were handled by regular collaborator Polow Da Don, who also teamed with Monica on the Mansur Zafr-assisted “Without You” and Ester Dean-penned “Here I Am.”

Other recent credits by Polow Da Don – real name Jamal Jones – include Tamia’s “Stuck with Me” [Def Jam Recordings], Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” [Republic Records] and Mario’s “Someone Else” [RCA Records].

Meanwhile, “Code Red” is scheduled to hit stores and digital outlets later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

The highly-anticipated project serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “New Life,” which peaked to number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and delivered singles including “Anything (To Find You)” and “Until It’s Gone.”

“Code Red” serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “New Life,” which peaked to number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and featured singles “Anything (To Find You),” “Until It’s Gone” and “It All Belongs to Me.”

On the songwriting and production front, “Code Red” boasts contributions from Polow Da Don, Keri Hilson, Nathaniel “Danja” Hills, Timbaland, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox, Warren “Oak” Felder and Andrew “Pop” Wansel.

The super producer – born Timothy Mosley – is responsible for “Try Again” by Aaliyah [Blackground Records], “Who is She to You?” by Brandy [Atlantic Records] and “Drunk in Love” by Beyonce f/ Jay-Z [Columbia Records].

His extensive resume also includes works for Justin Timberlake [RCA Records], Rihanna [Roc Nation Records], Demi Lovato [Hollywood Records], Jason Derulo [Warner Bros. Records] and Drake [Republic Records].

Meanwhile, Monica’s next studio collection is expected to be released later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up 2012’s “New Life,” which peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Keri Hilson and Danja have graced the upcoming studio album by Monica.

The songwriting and production duo previously helmed songs for other artists including Britney Spears (“Gimme More”) and Danity Kane (“Want It”).

They’ve also collaborated on hit single “Knock You Down,” taken from Hilson’s debut album “In a Perfect World.” The Ne-Yo & Kanye West-assisted track peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.

Meanwhile, Monica’s next collection is expected to be released during the first quarter of 2015 via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

Elliot is also responsible for co-writing and producing Whitney Houston’s “Things You Say” [Arista Records], Fantasia’s “Free Yourself” [J Records] and Jazmine Sullivan’s “Need U Bad” [RCA Records].
