Rachel Platten confirms title, release date for new album

Rachel Platten has confirmed the title and release date for her new album.

The American singer-songwriter christened her second major-label album “Waves” and will release it on October 27 via Columbia Records.

Current single “Broken Glass” – which was co-written by Nate Cyphert and Jarrad Rogers with co-production duties by Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen of Swedish production duo Stargate – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The follow-up to 2016’s “Wildfire” boasts further productions from Jon Levine (Bebe Rexha), Ryan Tedder (Adele), Zach Skelton (Camila Cabello), Ian Kirkpatrick (Dua Lipa), Mick Schultz (Rihanna), Jason Evigan (Julia Michaels), Warren “Oak” Felder (Demi Lovato) and Jonas Jeberg (Selena Gomez).

Among the songwriters expected to appear on the album are Asia Whiteacre (Carly Rae Jepsen), Sean Douglas (Madonna), Fransisca Hall (Ella Eyre), Johnny McDaid (Zara Larsson), Leland (Sabrina Carpenter), Evan “Kidd” Bogart (Christina Milian) and Scott Harris (Melanie Martinez).

Carly Rae Jepsen has recorded new music with Asia Whiteacre.

The Warner/Chappell signee’s resume boasts songwriting works with Astrid S (“Breathe”), Laura Marano (“Hot Mess”), Hailee Steinfeld (“Most Girls”), Liza Owen (“Somebody New”), Sofia Carson (“When I Was Your Girl”), Hey Violet (“ODD”) and Liz Huett (“Love Me More”).

Whiteacre has also worked with fellow songwriters and producers including Electric, Laura “LP” Pergolizzi, Red Triangle, Diana Gordon, Captain Cuts, Kara DioGuardi, Illangelo, Taylor Parks, Happy Perez, Kate Nash, Dallas K, Lisa Scinta, Jonathan “J.R.” Rotem, Stephenie Jones, and Ross Golan.

Meanwhile, Jepsen is expected to release her next album and follow-up to 2015’s “E.MO.TION” later this year via School Boy Records and Interscope Records.

The still-untitled collection reportedly delivers further songwriting contributions from Chloe Angelides (Era Istrefi), Nate Campany (Raye), MNDR (Charli XCX), Evan “Kidd” Bogart (Beyonce), Noonie Bao (Dua Lipa), Tobias Jesso Jr. (Adele), Phoebe Ryan (Britney Spears) and Nate Cyphert (Rachel Platten).

Fifth Harmony liberate new self-titled album

Fifth Harmony – composed of Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui – have liberated their third studio album online.

Released by Simon Cowell’s Sony imprint Syco Music in partnership with Epic Records, the self-titled collection – featuring singles “Down,” “Angel” and “He Like That” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The follow-up to 2016’s “7/27” boasts productions from The Monsters & Strangerz, AMMO, Dallas K, Skrillex, Tommy Brown, Harmony Samuels, Dreamlab, Ian Kirkpatrick, Electric, Jason Evigan, and The Stereotypes.

On the songwriting front, Fifth Harmony have worked with Nate Cyphert, Jude Demorest, Ester Dean, Sebastian Kole, Candy Shields, Tayla Parx, Ryan Toby, Whitney Phillips, Dayo Olatunji, Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, and Lisa Scinta.

L Devine drafts Tre Jean-Marie for new collaboration

British singer/songwriter Olivia Devine, professionally known as L Devine, has drafted Tre Jean-Marie for a new collaboration.

The UK record producer and songwriter is responsible for Jacob Banks’ “Monster,” Vanessa White’s “Don’t Want You Back,” Kaytranada’s “Got it Good,” Tom Grennan’s “Praying,” Brayton Bowman’s “Skin Deep,” Monsieur Adi’s “Stay Up Late,” and Craig David’s “Couldn’t Be Mine.”

Jean-Marie’s resume boasts additional works with fellow musicians including Ali Tennant, Caroline Ailin, Ed Drewett, Jin Jin, Iain James, Karen Poole, Sebastian Kole, Chelcee Grimes, Talay Riley, Maegan Cottone, Bryn Christopher, Negin Djafari, Andrew Jackson, Celetia Martin, and Jacob Attwooll.

Meanwhile, L Devine’s debut project – featuring current single “School Girls” – is expected to arrive later this year via Warner Brothers Records.

Rachel Platten has unveiled the music video for her new single online.

The American singer/songwriter posted the visual clip for “Broken Glass” to her Vevo channel on Friday (August 18, 2017).

Co-written by Nate Cyphert (Trey Songz, Florida Georgia Line) and Jarrad Rogers (Ella Eyre, Rita Ora); the track is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Production duties on “Broken Glass” were collectively handled by Rogers alongside Norwregian duo Stargate (aka Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen), who have recently worked with Bebe Rexha (“I Got Time”), Julia Michaels (“Issues”), Zara Larsson (“Sundown”) and Charli XCX (“After the Afterparty”).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Platten’s second major label album and follow-up to 2016’s “Wildfire” is expected to arrive later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records.

Canadian singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen has teamed up with Chloe Angelides, Farrago, and Jonas Jeberg for a new collaboration.

The songwriting trio are responsible for Selena Gomez’s “Fetish,” which peaked to number twenty-seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.

Farrago’s songwriting resume boasts further works with Daya (“Sit Still, Look Pretty”) and Jojo (“Disaster”), meanwhile Angelides has contributed to the next projects by Stanaj, Louisa Johnson, Era Istrefi, Liza Owen, Demi Lovato, Lily Allen, Molly Kate Kestner, and Charlie Puth.

As a record producer, Jeberg has helmed songs for artists including Bebe Rexha (“The Way I Are”), Jason Derulo (“Marry Me”), Sabrina Carpenter (“Why”), Fifth Harmony (“Sledgehammer”) and Chris Brown (“Remember My Name”).

Jepsen, on the other hand, is expected to release her next album later this year via School Boy Records and Interscope Records.

The follow-up to 2015’s “E.MO.TION” reportedly delivers additional productions from Patrik Berger (Charli XCX), Kyle Shearer (Tori Kelly), Alex Hope (Troy Sivan), Justin Raisen (Sky Ferreira), Pontus Winnberg (Britney Spears), Fred Ball (Alicia Keys), Captain Cuts (Halsey) and BloodPop (Justin Bieber).

Norwegian singer/songwriter Dagny Norvoll Sandvik, known mononymously as Dagny, has enlisted the songwriting and production services of Lucy “Pawws” Taylor and Electric for her upcoming project under Republic Records.

Taylor’s songwriting resume boasts works for Dua Lipa (“Be the One”), Etham (“Close Enough”), Liv Dawson (“I’ll Be Waiting”), Tom Walker (“Boys Will Be Boys”), Annalisa (“Used to You”) and Redlight (“I’ll Be Waiting”).

Composed of members Edvard Erfjord and Henrik Michelsen, Electric are responsible for producing Little Mix’s “No More Sad Songs,” Machine Gun Kelly’s “At My Best,” Fleur East’s “Sax,” Olly Murs’ “Love You More,” Cheryl’s “Live Life Now,” Ben Haenow’s “Brother,” and M.O’s “Not in Love.”

DAGNY’s current promotional single “Wearing Nothing” – which was co-written with Tommy English, Alx Reuterskiold and Ludgvig Soderberg – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

On the follow-up to 2016’s “Ultraviolet,” DAGNY has reportedly teamed up with producers Jon Levine (Bebe Rexha), Mark Ralph (Craig David), Jonny Coffer (Ella Eyre), Cass Lowe (Sam Smith), Fred Ball (Alicia Keys), Justin Parker (Mikky Ekko), Bastian Langebaek (Kiah Victoria), Rami Yacoub (Charlie Puth), Axident (Dua Lipa), Big Taste (Jake Miller) and The 23rd (Grace Carter).
