Stargate celebrate 20 years in the music business

Norwegian songwriting and production duo Stargate, which is composed of members Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, have celebrated 20 years in the music business.

Alongside former member Hallgeir Rustan, and before relocating to the United States, Stargate have helmed hits for Samantha Mumba (“Always Come Back to Your Love”), Misteeq (“Scandalous”), Shola Ama (“Still Believe”), Blue (“All Rise”), Javine (“Real Things”), Atomic Kitten (“It’s OK”), Billie Piper (“Day & Night”), Fierce (“Sweet Love 2K”) and Ashley Ballard (“Hottie”).

Stargate’s recent credits include David Guetta’s “Light Headed,” Charli XCX’s “Girls Night Out,” Khalid’s “Stay,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Almost Love,” Ne-Yo’s “Without You,” Tinashe’s “Faded Love,”  Majid Jordan’s “Body Talk,” Camila Cabello’s “OMG,” and Sam Smith’s “Too Good At Goodbyes.”

Under Tim Blacksmith and Danny D’s management, Stargate have also worked with songwriters Johnta Austin, Frankie Storm, Claude Kelly, Starrah, Phillip “Taj” Jackson, Autumn Rowe, Justin Tranter, Ester Dean, Ross Golan, Amanda Ghost, James Fauntleroy, Kristal “Tyterwriter” Oliver, and Ryan Toby.

Ne-Yo drops seventh studio collection “Good Man”

American singer, songwriter, and record producer Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Smith) has dropped his seventh studio collection online.

“Good Man” – featuring the Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don-assisted “Push Back” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The follow-up to 2015’s “Non-Fiction” boasts further guest appearances from Romeo Santos (“Nights Like These”), PartyNextDoor (“On Your Mind”), Eric Bellinger (“Hot Box”) and Candace Boyd & Sam Hook (“Ocean Sure”).

On the production front, Ne-Yo has teamed up with Stargate, Jesse “Corparal” Wilson, Dr. Luke, Cirkut, Billboard, Darhyl “DJ” Camper, Maejor, Curtis “Sauce” Wilson, Joseph Hill, and The Stereotypes.

Bebe Rexha guests on Ne-Yo’s new single “Push Back”

American singer, songwriter and record producer Ne-Yo has enlisted Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don for his new promotional single “Push Back,” now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

Production duties on “Push Back” were handled by Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen of Stargate, who previously teamed up with Ne-Yo on singles “So Sick,” “Sexy Love,” “Because of You,” “Go On Girl,” “Closer,” “Independent Woman,” “Beautiful Monster,” “Let Me Love You” and “Coming With You.”

Ne-Yo’s upcoming seventh studio collection “Good Man” – featuring further productions from Dr. Luke, Cirkut, and Darhyl “DJ” Camper – is scheduled to arrive on June 8 via Universal Music Group / Motown Records.

Having worked with Stargate on “I Got Time” and “Bad Bitch,” Rexha also co-wrote “All Hands on Deck” with the Norwegian hitmaking duo. The Cashmere Cat-assisted track appears on Tinashe’s debut album, “Aquarius,” which debuted at number seventeen on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Rexha’s upcoming album “Expectations” will hit stores later this year via Warner Brothers Records.

The highly-anticipated project reportedly delivers alliances with The Stereotypes, Lauren Christy, Jason Evigan, Asia Whiteacre, Jussi Karvinen, Kamille, Justin Tranter, David Garcia, Talay Riley, and Josh Miller.

Megan Rochell releases debut album “You, Me and the Radio”

Megan Rochell has released her debut album online.

Originally intended to arrive in 2006 via Universal Music Group / Def Jam Recordings, “You, Me and the Radio” – featuring singles “The One You Need,” “Floating” and “Let Go” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Album producers include Stargate (Justin Timberlake), Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (Tamar Braxton), Needlz (Bruno Mars), Ryan Leslie (Cassie), Antonio Dixon (Kevin Gates) and Madd Scientist (Christina Milian).

On the songwriting front; Rochell has enlisted Keri Hilson (Mary J. Blige), Shaffer “Ne-Yo” Smith (Fantasia), Makeba Riddick (Jennifer Lopez), Sean “The Pen” Garrett (Brandy), Delisha Thomas (Janet Jackson), LaShawn “Big Shiz” Daniels (Ciara), Thabiso Nkhereanye (Alessia Cara), Patrick “J. Que” Smith (Kelly Rowland) and Ezekiel Lewis (Amerie).

La’Porsha Renae releases debut album “Already All Ready”

American singer/songwriter La’Porsha Renae has released her debut album online.

“Already All Ready” – featuring singles “Good Woman,” “Somebody Does” and “What is Love?” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The highly-anticipated project also includes songs that were initially recorded by fellow artists Bridget Kelly (“When in Rome”), Zara Larsson (“No Problem / Self Talk”) and Jojo (“Already All Ready”).

Among the producers backing Renae on “Already All Ready” are Harmony “H-Money” Samuels (Jordin Sparks), Edgar “JV” Etienne (Keyshia Cole), Ne-Yo (LeToya Luckett), Jesse “Corporal” Wilson (Musiq Soulchild), Curtis “Sauce” Wilson (K. Michelle) and Toby Gad (Natasha Bedingfield).

La’Porsha Renae releases new single “Somebody Does”

La’Porsha Renae has released a new promotional single online.

“Somebody Does” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Hailey Collier alongside Andrae Alexander, whose other credits include K. Michelle’s “All I Got” [Atlantic Records] and Raheem DeVaughn’s “Superhero” [Jive Records].

Production duties on “Somebody Does” were collectively handled by Shaffer “Ne-Yo” Smith (Beyonce, Kelly Rowland) and Jesse “Corporal” Wilson (Celine Dion, Justin Bieber).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Renae’s first studio collection “Already All Ready” – featuring previous singles “Good Woman” and “What is Love” – will arrive on March 31 via 19 Recordings and Motown Records.

Other album contributors include Harmony Samuels (Sevyn Streeter), Tiffany Fred (Zendaya_, Edgar “JV” Ettiene (Keyshia Cole), Al Sherrod Lambert (Fantasia Barrino), and Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd (Sam Smith).

Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Smith) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actor. He gained fame for his songwriting works with Mario (“Let Me Love You”), Beyonce (“Irreplaceable”), Rihanna (“Unfaithful”), Jennifer Hudson (“Spotlight”), Janet Jackson (“Rock With You”), RaVaughn (“Better Be Good”), Paula DeAnda (“Walk Away”), Keri Hilson (“Pretty Girl Rock”), LeToya Luckett (“Not Anymore”), Mack Wilds (“Own It”) and Lindsay Lohan (“Bossy”).
