Liza Owen teams with Cedric Gervais on new single “Somebody New”

British singer/songwriter Liza Owen has teamed up with French DJ and house music producer Cedric Gervais for his new single “Somebody New,” now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Owen alongside Asia Whiteacre, whose other credits include Hey Violet’s “O.D.D.,” Astrid S’s “Breathe,” Hailee Steinfeld’s “Most Girls,” and Sophie & The Bom Boms’ “Creme De La Creme.”

As mentioned in earlier posts, Owen is expected to release her upcoming debut project – featuring the Goldfingers-produced “Better with Me” and Ali Tamposi & Robopop-assisted “Don’t Call Me Baby” – later this year via Lava Records and Republic Records.

The still-untitled collection reportedly delivers further productions from Knighstarr, Digital Farm Animals, Youthonix, Maestro the Baker, Benny Cassette, Mick Schultz, Luke Fitton, Sam Sumser, and Mac & Phil.

On the songwriting front, Owen has worked with Rachel Furner, Danny Parker, Ilsey Juber, Jesse St. John, Shungudzo Kuyimba, Ed Drewett, Chloe Angelides, Brian Lee, Sarah Hudson, Philip Plested, Negin Djafari, Levi Lennox, Eyelar Mirzazadeh, JHart, Tayla Parx, Andrew Watt, and Lauren Aquilina.

Raphael Saadiq graces new album by Chromeo

Chromeo have teased a new collaboration with Raphael Saadiq.

“The god @raphael_saadiq laced us too. People don’t even know how incredible of a bass player he is. We got a bunch some of our idols on this album,” the Canadian electro-funk duo posted on Instagram on Saturday (June 17, 2017).

Saadiq’s recent songwriting and production credits include Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky,” Usher’s “Champions,” Andra Day’s “Cheers to the Fall,” Miguel’s “Flesh,” and Adrian Marcel’s “Eyes Don’t Lie.”

His extensive resume boasts additional works with Joss Stone (“Tell Me ‘Bout It”), D’Angelo (“Lady”), TLC (“So So Dumb”), Kelis (“80s Joint”), Mary J. Blige (“Color”), Kelly Price (“So Sweet”), Teedra Moses (“Take Me”), Alicia Keys (“Lesson Learned”) and Whitney Houston (“Fine”).

Meanwhile, Chromeo – consisting of David “Dave 1” Macklovitch and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel – are expected to drop their new album later this year via Last Gang Records / Big Beat Records / Atlantic Records.

The follow-up to 2014’s “White Women” reportedly delivers further productions from Jason Evigan (Enrique Iglesias), Digital Farm Animals (Rita Ora), Kaytranada (Craig David), Ian Kirkpatrick (Selena Gomez), Illangelo (Emeli Sande), Ariel Rechtshaid (Kylie Minogue) and MNEK (Dua Lipa).

Among the songwriters expected to appear on the album are Lindy Robbins (Jason Derulo), Ross Golan (Charlie Puth), Priscilla Renea (Nick Jonas), Sean Douglas (Big Boi), Andrew Jackson (Sean Paul), Billy Walsh (Alicia Keys), Scott Harris (The Chainsmokers) and Ammar Malik (Ed Sheeran).

Louisa Johnson registers new song title with ASCAP

Louisa Johnson has registered a new song title with ASCAP – The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

“Feeling It” was written by Alexandra “Ali” Tamposi (Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato), Chloe Angelides (Lily Allen, Jason Derulo) and Steven “Steve Mac” McCutcheon (Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora).

The track is slotted for inclusion on Johnson’s upcoming debut album under Simon Cowell’s Sony imprint Syco Music.

Current promotional single “Best Behaviour” – which was written by Shungudzo “Alexandra Govere” Kuyimba and Daniel “Danny” Parker alongside the song’s producers Thomas “Froe” Barnes, Benjamin Kohn and Peter “Merf” Kelleher of TMS – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

For her first studio collection, Johnson has also worked with producers Tobias “Toby” Gad (Madonna), Matthew “BURNS” Burns (Kacy Hill), Dallas Austin (Ciara), Tre Jean-Marie (Mabel McVey), Arnthor Birgisson (RAYE), Joseph “Joe” Janiak (Britney Spears) and Nicholas “Digital Farm Animals” Gale (Little Mix).

British singer/songwriter Grace Carter has teamed up with Max McElligott for a new collaboration.

McElligott previously wrote songs for Kylie Minogue & Giorgio Moroder (“Your Body”), Rudimental & Ed Sheeran (“Lay it All on Me”), Tom Chaplin (“Bring the Rain”) and Alex Maxwell (“Letting You Know”).

His resume boasts additional works with fellow musicians including Tre Jean-Marie, Andrea Martin, Diztortion, Negin Djafari, Jonny Harris, Caroline Ailin, Electric, Talay Riley, Chelcee Grimes, James Newman, Cara Salimando, MNEK, Rachel Furner, Jimmy Harry, Alex Stacey, Iain James, Philip Plested, BullySongs, Freddy Wexler, Bastian Langebaek, Chris Loco, and Mac & Phil.

Meanwhile, Carter is expected to release her debut project – featuring lead promotional single “Silence” – later this year.

American singer/songwriter Katriana Huguet, better known by her stage name Kat Dahlia, has delivered her new promotional single online.

“Sirens” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Meleni Smith, professionally known as Polly A., whose other credits include Alicia Keys’ “Love is My Disease.” J. Cole’s “Crooked Smile,” Selena Gomez’s “Bang Bang Bang,” Jordin Sparks’ “Left … Right,” Ben Stevenson’s “Love Could Be,” and Natasha Bedingfield’s “Happy.”

Production duties on “Sirens” were handled by J-Roc, who is also responsible for Jennifer Hudson’s “Walk it Out,” Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love,” Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie,” and Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good.”

As mentioned in earlier posts, Dahlia is expected to release her sophomore album and follow-up to 2015’s “My Garden” – featuring previous single “Friday Night Majic” – later this year via Vested in Culture / Epic Records.

Fifth Harmony announce details for new single

Fifth Harmony have announced the details for their new single.

The American pop quartet – composed of Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui – christened “Down” as the first promotional cut from their upcoming third album and will release it on June 2 via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Claire “Jude” Demorest alongside Joshua “Ammo” Coleman and Dallas Koehlke, who previously teamed up with Fifth Harmony on the Ty Dolla Sign-assisted “Work from Home,” which peaked to number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.

As mentioned in earlier posts, the follow-up to 2016’s “7/27” is scheduled to arrive later this year via Syco Music and Epic Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly delivers further songwriting contributions from Dayo Olatunji (Jason Derulo), Akil “Forever Fresh” King (Iggy Azalea), Carmen Reece (Pia Mia), Verse Simmonds (K.
