Since its a slow news day, I thought about writing this post, which has been on my mind for a while now. Its about songwriters/producers who worked with two artists that are frequently associated with one another. For this post, I have chosen Alicia Keys and Beyoncé.  In case you did not know, Keys was signed to Columbia Records (which is Beyoncé’s current label) before signing to Clive Davis’ J Records.  Here are the musicians that both artists have worked with:

Antonique Smith debuts new single “Higher”

Antonique Smith has debuted her new single online.

The actress, singer, and songwriter posted the audio clip for “Higher” to her official YouTube channel on Friday (August 28, 2015).

Co-production duties on “Higher” – out now via iTunes – were handled by Kevin Risto and Wayne Nugent of Midi Mafia, who are also behind John Legend’s “Quickly” f/ Brandy and Justin Bieber’s “Overboard” f/ Jessica Jarrell.

Smith’s upcoming mini-collection “Love is Everything” – featuring previous promotional cut “Hold Up Wait a Minute (Woo Woo)” – is slated to hit digital outlets later this year through 9:23 Music Group.

Among the musicians who reportedly contributed to the EP are Toby Gad (Beyonce, Alicia Keys), Danja (Usher, Britney Spears), Novel (Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson) and Dr. Dre (Eminem, Kendrick Lamar).

Avery Wilson hits the studio with Shama “Sak Pase” Joseph

Avery Wilson has teamed up with Shama “Sak Pase” Joseph for his new project.

Joseph is known for co-writing and producing Jennifer Lopez’s “Emotions” [Capitol Records], Rihanna’s “Man Down” [Def Jam Recordings] and Kid Ink’s “No Miracles” featuring Elle Varner [RCA Records].

His resume also includes works for Kanye West [Roc-A-Fella Records], Frank Ocean [Def Jam Recordings], Sevyn Streeter [Atlantic Records], Tessanne Chin [Republic Records] and Chris Brown [RCA Records].

Meanwhile, the still-untitled project by Wilson is expected to be released later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

It reportedly features further contributions from Sean “The Pen” Garrett (Usher, Janet Jackson), Ursula Yancy (Estelle, Keyshia Cole) and Alonzo “Novel” Stevenson (Evan Ross, Natasha Bedingfield).

MPrynt enlist Jasper Cameron, Alonzo “Novel” Stevenson for debut album

MPrynt have added Alonzo “Novel” Stevenson and Jasper Cameron to the list of contributors for their upcoming debut album, which is due later this year via Universal Music Group / Motown Records.

Recent songwriting credits by Jasper “Fatso” Cameron include singles “Sorry” by Ciara [Sony Music Entertainment / Epic Records] and “Do It Again” by Lloyd [Universal Music Group / Interscope Records].

Meanwhile, Alonzo “Novel” Stevenson is responsible for producing tracks such as “Tell You Something” by Alicia Keys [Sony Music Entertainment / J Records] and “Music” by Joss Stone featuring Lauryn Hill [EMI Music Group / Virgin Records].

Nikki Flores releases debut album ‘This Girl’ online

Nikki Flores has unveiled her debut album “This Girl” online.

The previously unreleased project contains 17 songs that were recorded between 2005 – 2008 along musicians Evan Rogers & Carl Sturken (Rihanna, Christina Aguilera), Ryan “Alias” Tedder (Adele Adkins, Beyonce Knowles), Richard “Biff” Stannard (Pixie Lott, Kylie Minogue), Fernando Garibay (Britney Spears, Wynter Gordon), Alonzo “Novel” Stevenson (Joss Stone, Fantasia Barrino), Jonathan “J.R.” Rotem (Livvi Franc, Shontelle Layne) and The Jam: Michael Mani & Jordan Omley (Brandy Norwood, Leona Lewis).

Flores is currently pursuing a full time career as a songwriter under the direction of Sony / ATV Publishing, where she has been signed as a writer since 2006.
