Kelsey Lu releases new promotional single “Due West”

Kelsey Lu has released her new promotional single online.

“Due West” – which was collectively produced by Rodaidh McDonald, Michael Uzowuru, Jeff Kleinman, Sonny “Skrillex” Moore, and Jahphet “Roofeo” Landis – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

The track was also co-written by Sarah Aarons, whose other credits include Zedd (“The Middle”), Demi Lovato (“Lonely”), Jessie Ware (“Alone”), Mabel (“Bedroom”), Lykke Li (“Sex Money Feelings Die”), Nao (“Drive and Disconnect”) and David Guetta (“Don’t Leave Me Alone”).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Lu’s upcoming project – featuring previous single “Shades of Blue” – is scheduled to arrive via Columbia Records.

Kelsey Lu has shared the music video for her new single online.

The Vincent Haycock-directed clip for “Shades of Blue” was posted the American singer/songwriter’s Vevo channel on Thursday (April 26, 2018).

Written by Kelsey Lu and produced by Adrian Younge; “Shades of Blue” is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

Lu’s upcoming debut album and follow-up to 2016’s “Church”- featuring additional alliances with Rodaidh McDonald and Jeff Gitty – is scheduled to arrive later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records.

Lily Allen christens “Trigger Bang” as lead single from new album

Lily Allen has announced the details for her new single online.

The British singer/songwriter christened “Trigger Bang” – featuring Giggs – as the lead promotional cut from her upcoming album under Parlophone Records, tentatively entitled “The Fourth Wall.”

Released in 2014; Allen’s previous studio collection “Sheezus” topped the UK Albums Chart and peaked to number twelve on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. That project also spawned three singles in the shape of “Hard Out Here,” “Air Balloon” and “As Long As I Got You.”

Among the songwriters and producers expected to appear on “The Fourth Album” are Mark Ronson, Jenna Andrews, Benny Cassette, Andrea “Nylo” Landis, BloodPop, Chloe Angelides, Tev’n, Sarah Hudson, Dre Skull, Liana Banks, Ari PenSmith, Rodaidh McDonald, and Sam Duckworth.

It is also important to note that Allen co-wrote “Mr. C” for Nina Nesbitt alongside Karen Poole and Steve Mac, as well as “Can’t Dance without You” for Professor Green alongside Peter “Merf” Kelleher, Benjamin Kohn and Thomas “Froe” Barnes of UK songwriting/production team TMS.

Jorja Smith releases “Beautiful Little Fools” music video

Jorja Smith has released the music video for her new single online.

The British singer-songwriter posted the Hector Dockrill-directed clip for “Beautiful Little Fools” to her Vevo channel on Wednesday (March 08, 2017).

Production duties on “Beautiful Little Fools” were handled by Charlie Perry, who previously teamed up with Smith on “Carry My Home,” “Imperfect Circle,” “So Lonely” and “Something in the Way.”

As mentioned in previous posts, Smith is expected to release her debut album – featuring productions and songwriting contributions from Maverick Sabre, Ed Thomas, Joel Compass, Felix Joseph, and Illangelo – later this year.

Other musicians expected to appear on the still-untitled project are Bradford Ellis (Anne-Marie), Laura Dockrill (Foxes), Josh Record (Pixie Geldof), Chris Loco (Ella Eyre), Two Inch Punch (Sinead Harnett), Utters (Purple Ferdinand), Nineteen85 (Drake), GRADES (Dua Lipa), Rodaidh McDonald (Adele), Noah “40” Shebib (Alicia Keys) and Benny Blanco (Ed Sheeran).

Mabel McVey teams with RAYE for new collaboration

Mabel McVey has teamed up with label mate RAYE for a new collaboration.

The British singer/songwriter – real name Rachel Keen – is known for co-writing Charli XCX’s “After the Afterparty,” Snakehips’ “Don’t Leave,” M.O’s “Not in Love,” Blonde’s “All Cried Out,” Era Istrefi’s “Home with You,” Jax Jones’ “You Don’t Know Me,” and Matoma’s “The Wave.”

RAYE’s mini-collection “SECOND” – featuring “I, U, Us,” “Tell Me,” “Ambition,” “Shhh,” and “Distraction” – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming outlets.

Meanwhile, McVey is expected to release her first studio collection – featuring singles “Know Me Better,” “My Boy, My Town” and “Thinking of You” – later this year via Universal Music Group / Polydor Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly delivers further songwriting contributions from Joel Pott (George Ezra), Marlon Roudette (Liam Payne), Jin Jin (Dido), Levi Lennox (Sam Smith) and Negin Djafari (Fifth Harmony).

Amongst the producers expected to appear on the album are Tre Jean-Marie (Craig David), Kid Harpoon (Shakira), Crada (Drake), Joel Compass (Tinashe), Free School (Kelis), Christian Rich (Sinead Harnett), DJ Freedo (Zara Larsson), Bless Beats (Jess Glynne), Digital Farm Animals (JONES), Rodaidh McDonald (Adele), MeLo-X (Beyonce), Stint (NAO) and Nineteen85 (Majid Jordan).

Sampha delivers new promotional single “(No One Knows Me) Like the Piano”

Sampha has delivered a new song online.

“(No One Knows Me) Like the Piano” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Sampha produced the track alongside regular collaborator Rodaidh McDonald, whose other credits include Adels’s “If It Hadn’t Been for Love,” Lapsley’s “Hurt Me,” The XX’s “Hold On,” and JONES’ “Deep.”

As mentioned in earlier posts, Sampha’s upcoming debut album “Process” – featuring previous promotional singles “Blood on Me” and “Timmy’s Prayer” – will arrive on February 3 via Young Turks Recordings.

As a songwriter and record producer, Sampha recently helmed Solange’s hit single “Don’t Touch My Hair” alongside fellow musicians Raphael Saadiq, David Andrew Sitek, and Patrick Wimberly of Chairlift.

His extensive resume boasts further works with Alicia Keys (“Give Me Life”), FKA twigs (“Numbers”), Katy B (“Play”), Drake (“Too Much”), SBTRKT (“Hold On”), Emile Haynie (“A Kiss Goodbye”) and Jessie Ware (“Valentine”).

Sampha announces details for debut album “Process”

Sampha has announced the details for his upcoming debut album.

The British electronic music singer, songwriter, and record producer – born Sampha Sisay – christened his first studio collection “Process” and will release it on February 3, 2017 via Young Turks Recordings.

Current single “Blood On Me” – which was produced by Sampha alongside Rodaidh McDonald – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

In related news, Sampha recently co-wrote and co-produced “Don’t Touch My Hair” for Solange alongside Patrick Wimberly, Dave Sitek and Raphael Saadiq. The track appears on Solange’s latest album, “A Seat at the Table.”

Sampha’s extensive resume boasts further works with FKA twigs (“Numbers”), Katy B (“Play”), Drake (“Too Much”), SBTRKT (“Hold On”), Emile Haynie (“A Kiss Goodbye”) and Jessie Ware (“Valentine”).
