Ruth B announces new promotional single “Rare”

Ruth B has announced the details for her new single.

The Canadian singer/songwriter (born Ruth Berhe) christened “Rare” as the first promotional cut from her upcoming sophomore album under Columbia Records.

Co-written and produced by Dernst “D’Mile” Emile (Janet Jackson’s “Feedback,” Mary J. Blige’s “Gonna Breakthrough,” Rihanna’s “That La La,” Victoria Monet’s “Little More Time,” and The Carters’ “Boss”), the track will arrive on September 21 via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

On the follow-up to 2017’s “Safe Haven,” which is expected to arrive later this year, Ruth B has also worked with songwriters and producers including Justin Tranter (Bebe Rexha), Simon Wilcox (Nick Jonas), Andrew Wells (Meghan Trainor) and Danny Parker (Shawn Mendes).

Ruth B. hits the studio with Justin Tranter for new collaboration

Canadian singer, songwriter, and pianist Ruth Berhe (professionally known as Ruth B.) has enlisted Justin Tranter for a new collaboration.

Tranter recently co-wrote “Make Me Feel” for Bad Boy recording artist Janelle Monae alongside Julia Michaels and Swedish production duo Mattias Larsson and Robin Fredriksson of Mattman & Robin.

The Warner/Chappell signee’s credits also include Camila Cabello’s “Into It,” Nick Jonas’ “Home,” Gwen Stefani’s “My Gift is You,” Britney Spears’ “Slumber Party,” Justin Bieber’s “Friends,” Selena Gomez’s “Bad Liar,” Fergie’s “Tension,” Jason Derulo’s “If I’m Lucky,” and Halsey’s “Bad at Love.”

Meanwhile, Ruth B. is expected to release her second project – featuring further songwriting contributions from Simon Wilcox, Andrew Wells, and Danny Parker – later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records.

Her debut studio collection, 2017’s “Safe Haven,” peaked to number thirteen on the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart and spawned three promotional singles in the shape of “Lost Boy,” “In My Dreams” and “Superficial Love.”

Canadian singer, songwriter, and pianist Ruth B has released her new single online.

“If This is Love” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Production duties on “If This is Love” were handled by New Zealand musician Joel Little, whose other credits include Lorde’s “Green Light,” Tove Lo’s “Imaginary Friend,” Khalid’s “Therapy,” Noah Kahan’s “Young Blood,” Ellie Goulding’s “The Greatest,” and Jarryd James’ “How Do We Make It.”

As mentioned in earlier posts, Ruth B will drop her first studio collection “Safe Haven” – featuring previous singles “Superficial Love,” “In My Dreams” and “Lost Boy” – on May 5 via Columbia Records.

Ruth B premieres “Lost Boy” music video

Ruth B has premiered the music video for her new single online.

The Canadian singer-songwriter-pianist posted the visual clip for “Lost Boy” to her Vevo channel on Monday (May 09, 2016).

Video treatment was handled by Emil Nava, whose recent credits include Dua Lipa’s “Hotter Than Hell” [Warner Brothers], AlunaGeorge’s “I’m in Control” [Island] and Tinashe’s “Player” [RCA].

Ruth B’s debut mini-collection “The Intro” – featuring “2 Poor Kids,” “Golden” and “Superficial Love” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment / Columbia Records.
