Vance Joy announces new single “Lay it On Me”

Vance Joy has announced the details for his new single.

The Australian singer/songwriter – born James Gabriel Keogh – christened “Lay it On Me” as the first promotional cut from his upcoming sophomore album under Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The track was written by Vance Joy alongside American Grammy nominated multi-platinum musician Dave Bassett, whose credits also include Elle King’s “Ex’s & Oh’s,” Shinedown’s “Second Chance,” Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song,” Daughtry’s “Torch,” and Halestorm’s “Love Bites (So Do I).”

Other songwriters expected to appear on the follow-up to 2014’s “Dream Your Life Away” are Ross Golan (Charlie Puth), Jin Jin (RAYE), Ammar Malik (Shawn Mendes), Ryn Weaver (Jojo), Danny Parker (Jessie Ware), Charli XCX (Ricky Reed), Justin Tranter (Nick Jonas) and Julia Michaels (Labrinth).

On the production front, Joy has reportedly worked with Jason Evigan (Andy Grammer), Cashmere Cat (Kacy Hill), Nolan Lambroza (Jason Derulo), Teddy Geiger (Christina Aguilera), Benny Blanco (Ed Sheeran), Happy Perez (Demi Lovato) and Justin Parker (Conrad Sewell).

Gwen Stefani reveals new song title “Used to Love You”

Gwen Stefani has revealed a new song title from her upcoming third album.

“Used to Love You” is slotted for inclusion on the singer/songwriter’s next studio collection and follow-up to 2006’s “The Sweet Escape.”

The track was co-written by Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, who are also behind Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself” [Republic], Selena Gomez’s “Good for You” [Interscope] and Nicole Scherzinger’s “Run” [Epic].

Production duties on “Used to Love You” were handled by Jonathan Rotem, who is also behind Fifth Harmony’s “Like Mariah” [Syco], Meghan Trainor’s “No Good for You” [Epic] and Nicki Minaj’s “Marilyn Monroe” [Republic].

As mentioned in earlier posts, Stefani is expected to release her forthcoming album – featuring previous singles “Baby Don’t Lie” and “Spark the Fire” – later this year through Mad Love Records and Interscope Records.

The still-untitled LP reportedly boasts further alliances with Benny Blanco, Charli XCX, Cashmere Cat, Ryn Weaver, Calvin Harris, Sia Furler, Ryan Tedder, Noel Zancanella, Raja Kumari, Greg Kurstin, and Mattman & Robin.

Jojo premieres “When Love Hurts” music video

JoJo has premiered the music video for her new single online.

The singer/songwriter – born Joanna Levesque – posted the visual clip for “When Love Hurts” to her YouTube channel on Monday (September 28, 2015).

“When Love Hurts” was written by fellow recording artist Ryn Weaver along with Benny Blanco (Katy Perry), Jason Evigan (Fifth Harmony), Ammar Malik (Prince Royce) and Daniel “Robopop” Omelio (Lana Del Rey).

Video treatment was handled by Patrick “Embryo” Tapu, whose resume includes further works with Eric Bellinger (“ASAP”), Kaptin (“Ricky Ricardo”), Paypa (“All of My Everything”) and Nylon Pink (“Run Devil Run”).

Jojo’s current EP “Tringle” – featuring “Save My Soul” and “Say Love” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Atlantic Records.

Gwen Stefani hits the studio with Mattman and Robin for third album

Singer/songwriter Gwen Stefani has added Mattman and Robin to the list of contributors for her upcoming third album.

The songwriting and production duo – consisting of Mattias Larsson and Robin Fredriksson – recently helmed “Cake to the Ocean” by pop group DNCE.

Other notable credits by Mattman and Robin include Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Run Away With Me” [Interscope], Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself” [Republic] and Taylor Swift’s “All You Had to Do Was Stay” [Big Machine].

Meanwhile, Stefani is expected to release her next studio collection – featuring singles “Baby Don’t Lie” and “Spark the Fire” – later this year through Mad Love Records and Interscope Records.

The follow-up to 2006’s “The Sweet Escape” reportedly delivers further alliances with Benny Blanco, Julia Michaels, Pharrell, Justin Tranter, Cashmere Cat, Sia, Ryan Tedder, Noel Zancanella, Ryn Weaver, and Greg Kurstin.

“Say Love” – now available for download via iTunes and all other digital outlets – was co-written by Chloe Angelides (Jessie J, Ariana Grande) and Wayne Hector (Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood).

Production duties were handled by Harmony Samuels, whose recent credits include Ciara’s “I Bet” [Epic], Fifth Harmony’s “I’m in Love with a Monster” [Syco Music] and Jennifer Lopez’s “Let it Be Me” [Capitol].

As mentioned in earlier posts, Jojo’s third studio collection – featuring “When Love Hurts” and “Save My Soul” – is scheduled to hit stores later this year through Warner Music Group imprint Atlantic Records.

The singer/songwriter posted the visual clip for “Traveling Song” to her Vevo channel on Thursday (June 18, 2015).

“Traveling Song” was written by Weaver – real name Erin Michelle Wüthrich – along with regular collaborators Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit (Madeon, Nelly Furtado) and Benny Blanco (Ariana Grande, Jordin Sparks).

Weaver’s debut album “The Fool” – featuring hit single “OctaHate” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Friends Keep Secrets and Interscope Records.

“The Fool” – featuring hit single “OctaHate” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Friends Keep Secrets / Interscope Records.

Benny Blanco serves as the project’s executive producer. His recent credits include Jessie Ware’s “Say You Love Me” [Polydor], Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” [Atlantic] and Ariana Grande’s “Be My Baby” [Republic].

Other musicians backing Weaver on “The Fool” are Michael Angelakos (Madeon, Nelly Furtado), Cashmere Cat (Miguel, Kanye West), Charli XCX (Rihanna, Icona Pop) and Ryan Tedder (Madonna, Sky Ferreira).

On the songwriting front, Weaver has contributed to the third album by Gwen Stefani. The still-untitled CD and follow-up to 2006’s “The Sweet Escape” is expected to hit stores later this year through Mad Love / Interscope Records.
