Kandace Springs teases new collaboration with Terrace Martin

Kandace Springs has teased a new collaboration with Terrace Martin.

“In Hollywood working with @terracemartin on my second album,” the American singer, songwriter, and pianist tweeted on Monday (June 12, 2017).

Martin recently co-produced Kacy Hill’s “Like a Woman” alongside DJ Mustard and DJDS, as well as Kendrick Lamar’s “Loyalty” alongside DJ Dahi, Sounwave and Anthony Tiffith.

The German-French-African-American two-time Grammy Award winning artist and music producer is also known for his works with several prominent artists, such as Snoop Dogg, The Game, Busta Rhymes, Stevie Wonder, Charlie Wilson, Raphael Saadiq and YG among others.

Springs, on the other hand, is expected to release her sophomore studio collection later this year via SRP / Blue Note Records.

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up to 2016’s “Soul Eyes,” which featured productions and songwriitng contributions from Greg Wells (Katy Perry), Lindy Robbins (Selena Gomez), Jimmy Harry (Kylie Minogue), Evan Rogers (Christina Aguilera) and Carl Sturken (Kelly Clarkson).

Kandace Springs teams up with Benny Cassette for debut album

Singer/songwriter Kandace Springs has teamed up with Benny Cassette for her upcoming debut studio collection.

Cassette is known for producing Miguel’s “NWA” [RCA Records], Wynter Gordon’s “Bleeding Out” [Harvest Records], Mary Lambert’s “Secrets” [Capitol Records] and Stacy Barthe’s “Live for Today” [Motown Records].

The record producer and songwriter – real name Benedetto Rotondi – also contributed to the next projects by Lily Allen [Parlophone], Keri Hilson [Interscope], Elle Varner [RCA] and Sevyn Streeter [Atlantic].

Meanwhile, Springs is expected to release her first album later this year through SRP Records in partnership with Blue Note Records and Capitol Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly features other collaborations with Rodney Jerkins (Beyonce, Janet Jackson), Dan Wilson (Rae Morris, John Legend), Jack Splash (Solange, CeeLo Green) and Andre Harris (Ciara, Justin Timberlake).

Rihanna confirms new single “B*tch Better Have My Money”

Rihanna has confirmed the details for her new single.

The singer/songwriter christened “Bitch Better Have My Money” as the second promotional cut from her upcoming eighth album, tentatively entitled “R8.”

Production duties on “My Money” were handled by Roc Nation signee Deputy, who also worked with A-list writers and artists such as Wale, J Cole, NeYo, Rick Ross, French Montana, Flo Rida, The Dream, Sean Garrett to list a few.

Previous single, the Kanye West and Paul McCartney-assisted “FourFiveSeconds,” is now available for download via iTunes.

“R8” serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “Unapologetic,” which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned hit singles including “Diamonds,” “Stay (featuring Mikky Ekko)” and “Pour it Up.”

Other producers backing Rihanna on “R8” are Stargate (Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez), Alex Da Kid (Nicki Minaj, Skylar Grey), DJ Mustard (Omarion, Keyshia Cole) and Naughty Boy (Emeli Sande, Leona Lewis).

Kandace Springs has worked with Carmen Reece for her debut album.

Reece is known for co-writing Ariana Grande’s “Almost is Never Enough” [Republic Records], Teyana Taylor’s “Put Your Love On” [Def Jam Recordings] and Michelle Williams’ “Say Yes” f/ Beyonce & Kelly Rowland [eOne Music].

Her resume also includes works for Samantha Jade [Sony Music Entertainment Australia], Melissa Steel [Atlantic Records], Zendaya [Hollywood Records] and Little Mix [Syco Music / Columbia Records].

Meanwhile, Springs’ first studio collection will be released later this year via SRP Records in partnership with Capitol Records and Black Note Records. The still-untitled project is executive produced by Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken.

On the songwriting and production front, the still-untitled project features further contributions from Rodney Jerkins, Andrea Martin, James Poyser, Stacy Barthe, Andre Harris, Dan Wilson, Brandon “B.A.M.” Hodge and Jack Splash.

Kandace Springs has hinted at a new collaboration with Rodney Jerkins.

“Bout to head into the studio with @RodneyJerkins” the singer, songwriter and pianist tweeted on Wednesday (February 25, 2015).

Jerkins recently served as executive producer for Mary J. Blige’s latest album “The London Session,” which is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with Universal Music Group imprint Capitol Records.

His extensive resume also includes works for Mariah Carey [Epic Records], Toni Braxton [Motown Records], Sia [RCA Records], Rihanna [SRP Records], Ariana Grande [Republic Records] and Tori Kelly [Capitol Records].

Meanwhile, Springs is expected to release her debut album later this year via SRP Records in partnership with Blue Note Records and Capitol Records.

The still-untitled project will be prominently helmed New York-based songwriting and production duo Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken.

Other songwriters and producers backing Springs on the still-untitled project are Brandon “B.A.M.” Hodge, Jack Splash, Stacy Barthe, Andre Harris, James “Malay” Ho, Dan Wilson, Andrea Martin and James Poyser.

Kandace Springs has enlisted James “Malay” Ho for her first studio collection.

“Had an incredible 3 days in the studio with #Malay” the singer, songwriter and pianist posted to her Instagram page on Tuesday (February 24, 2015).

Malay recently produced and co-wrote “Angels & Airwaves,” “April’s Fool” and “Battle Cry” for Angel Haze. These tracks appear on the rapper’s debut album, “Dirty Gold,” out now via Island Records (UK) and Republic Records (US).

His resume also includes works Goapele (“Undertow”), Alicia Keys (“One Thing”), Frank Ocean (“Lost”), John Legend (“You & I”), Fantasia Barrino (“Teach Me”), Jamie Foxx (“15 Minutes”) and Cris Cab (“Paradise on Earth”).

Meanwhile, Springs’ debut album will be released later this year via SRP Records in partnership with Blue Note Records and Capitol Records. The still-untitled project is executive produced by Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken.

Kandace Springs releases “West Coast” music video

Kandace Springs has released a new music video online.

The singer, songwriter and pianist posted the Julie Vastola-directed clip for “West Coast” to her Vevo channel on Monday (January 12, 2015).

“West Coast” was co-written by Springs along with Andrew “Pop” Wansel, Warren “Oak” Felder, Steve “Aceface” Mostyn and Ronald “Flip” Colson.

The track appears on the artist’s self-titled EP, which is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with SRP Records and Blue Note Records.

Springs’ full-length debut album will hit stores and digital outlets later this year. As mentioned in previous posts, the still-untitled LP is executive produced by songwriting and production duo Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken.

Other album contributors are James Poyser (Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu), Dan Wilson (Adele, John Legend), Andre Harris (Usher, Mariah Carey), Jack Splash (Solange, Alicia Keys) and Brandon “B.A.M.” Hodge (Ne-Yo, Chris Brown).

Kandace Springs has recorded new material with Dan Wilson.

“Had an amazing day in the studio with Dan Wilson cutting a dope song, then rehearsed with the band for Kimmel tomorrow!!” the singer, songwriter and pianist tweeted on Wednesday (January 14, 2015).

Wilson is responsible for co-writing and / or producing Adele’s “Someone Like You” [XL Recordings], John Legend’s “You & I (Nobody in the World)” [Columbia Records] and Pink’s “The Great Escape” [RCA Records].

His extensive songwriting and production resume includes further works for Taylor Swift [Big Machine Records], James Blunt [Atlantic Records], Paloma Faith [RCA Records] and James Morrison [Island Records].

Meanwhile, Springs is expected to release her full-length debut album later this year via SRP Records and Blue Note Records.

New York-based songwriting and production duo Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken will serve as the executive producers for the still-untitled project.

Among the musicians backing Springs on the keenly-awaited album are Jack Splash (Solange, Alicia Keys), Stacy Barthe (Rihanna, K. Michelle), Andre Harris (Usher, Melanie Fiona) and Andrea Martin (LeToya Luckett, Ella Eyre).

Her self-titled EP is now available for download via iTunes (US). The mini-collection features singles “Love Got in the Way” and “West Coast,” as well as contributions from Steve Mostyn, Jessyca Wilson, and Brandon Hodge.

Rihanna recruits Sam Smith for new album?

Sam Smith has hinted at a new collaboration with Rihanna.

“I’m personally very excited for Rihanna’s album. I know some stuff about that record that no-one knows” the British singer/songwriter stated in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Smith – real name Samuel Frederick Smith – recently co-wrote four songs on Mary J. Blige’s latest CD, “The London Sessions.” The songs in question are “Right Now,” “Nobody But You,” “Therapy” and “Not Loving You.”

His debut album “In the Lonely Hour” is now available for download via PMR Records and Capitol Records. The platinum-selling project includes singles “Money on My Mind,” “Stay with Me” and “I’m Not the Only One.”

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s next studio collection will be released later this year via Roc Nation in partnership with SRP Records.

The highly-anticipated project serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “Unapologetic,” which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Other songwriters previously linked to the new album, tentatively entitled “R8,” are Natalia Kills, Elijah Blake, Kiesza, James Fauntleroy, Emeli Sande, Charli XCX, Ne-Yo, Anjulie Persaud, Kelly Sheehan, and Ester Dean.

Barbadian songbird Rihanna has registered a new song title with ASCAP – The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

“Não Tenho Culpa (Not My Fault)” was co-written by James Fauntleroy along with Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen of Stargate, who previously teamed with Rihanna on hit singles “Te Amo” and “Wait Your Turn.”

The track is expected to appear on Rihanna’s highly-anticipated eighth album, which will be released via Roc Nation in partnership with SRP Records.

Other musicians backing the “Pour it Up” star on the new LP, tentatively entitled “R8,” are Jeff Bhasker, Kiesza, Tiago Carvalho, Natalia Kills, Ester Dean, Ne-Yo, Charli XCX, DJ Mustard, Emeli Sande, Alex Da Kid, and Naughty Boy.
