Nico and Vinz enlist Pharrell Williams for sophomore album

Norwegian duo Nico and Vinz have recently recorded new material with Pharrell Williams for their upcoming sophomore album.

Williams is known for producing and co-writing Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” [Interscope], Beyonce’s “Blow” [Columbia], Ed Sheeran’s “Sing” [Atlantic] and Kylie Minogue’s “I Was Gonna Cancel” [Parlophone].

He also confirmed placements on the next projects by Alicia Keys [RCA], Gwen Stefani [Interscope], Stacy Barthe [Motown], Lion Babe [Polydor], Maxine Ashley [Outsiders Recorded Music] and Christina Aguilera [RCA].

Meanwhile, Nico and Vinz are expected to release their second studio collection later this year under Warner Bros Records.

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up to 2014’s “Black Star Elephant,” which spawned four hit singles in the shape of “Am I Wrong,” “In Your Arms,” “When the Day Comes” and “My Melody.”

Other musicians backing Nico and Vinz on their next CD are Warren Felder (Sia, Kelly Clarkson), Charlie Puth (Trey Songz, Jason Derulo), Stacy Barthe (Rihanna, Katy Perry) and The Stereotypes (Miguel, John Legend).

Tamia announces new single “Sandwich and a Soda”

Tamia has announced the details for her new single.

The Canadian singer/songwriter christened “Sandwich and a Soda” as the first promotional cut from her upcoming album, “Love Life,” out on June 9 via Universal Music Group imprint Def Jam Recordings.

Among the musicians backing Tamia on “Love Life” are Da Internz, Johnta Austin, Chuck Harmony, Bryan Michael Cox, Claude Kelly, Warren Felder, Andrew Wansel, The-Dream, Tricky Stewart, and The Stereotypes.

Tamia’s last studio collection, 2012’s “Beautiful Surprise,” peaked to number six on the US Billboard Top R&B / Hip-Hop Albums Chart and spawned hit singles “Give Me You” and the Salaam Remi-produced “Beautiful Surprise.”

Canadian singer/songwriter Tamia has recruited Terius “The-Dream” Nash and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart for her upcoming sixth album.

The songwriting and production duo are responsible for Rihanna’s “Umbrella” [Def Jam Recordings], Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” [Columbia Records] and Britney Spears’ “Me Against the Music” f/ Madonna [Jive Records].

Their extensive resume also includes works for Celine Dion [Columbia Records], Usher [RCA Records], Mariah Carey [Def Jam Recordings], Nicole Scherzinger [RCA Records], Ciara [Epic Records] and Mary J. Blige [Capitol Records].

Meanwhile, Tamia’s next studio collection is expected to be released during the first quarter of 2015 via Universal Music Group / Def Jam Recordings.

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “Beautiful Surprise,” which peaked at number 23 on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

For the highly-anticipated album, Tamia also teamed up with Claude Kelly, Chuck Harmony, Da Internz, The Stereotypes, Bryan Michael Cox, Johnta Austin, Warren “Oak” Felder and Andrew “Pop” Wansel.

Jojo is working on music with new collaborator MNEK.

There’s currently no word on what the recording session was supposed to yield — new Jojo music, new MNEK material or a combination thereof.

MNEK recently co-wrote and / or produced “Losing” by Becky Hill [Parlophone], “Sing That Song” by TIEKS f/ Celeste [Atlantic], “All I See” by Bondax f/ Tanya Lacey [Relentless] and “Special” by Billon f/ Maxine Ashley [Virgin EMI].

His upcoming debut album – featuring singles “Every Little Word” and “Wrote a Song About You” – is scheduled for release in 2015 via iTunes in partnership with Virgin EMI Records (UK) and Cherrytree / Interscope Records (US).

Meanwhile, Jojo’s third studio collection with hit stores and digital outlets via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The still-untitled project serves as the follow-up to 2006’s “The High Road,” which peaked at number two on the US Albums Chart and spawned the Billy Steinberg and Josh Alexander-produced hit single “Too Little, Too Late.”

Among the musicians backing Jojo on the highly-anticipated album are Harmony “H-Money” Samuels, Diane Warren, Andrew “Pop” Wansel, Marsha Ambrosius, Da Internz, Ruth-Anne Cunningham, and The Stereotypes.

Danity Kane have scheduled the release date for their upcoming album.

The pop trio – consisting of members Dawn Richard, Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex – dubbed their third studio collection “DK3” and will release it in the United States on October 27 via Mass Appeal Records.

The highly-anticipated project boasts contributions from Jonathan Yip, Ray Romulus and Jeremy Reeves of songwriting and production team The Stereotypes (John Legend, Chris Brown, Trevor Jackson).

Danity Kane’s last album, 2008’s “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and boasted hit singles “Damaged” and the Missy Elliot-assisted / Danja-produced “Bad Girl.”

Notable songwriting credits by Johnta Austin include Jacob Latimore’s “Heartbreak Heard Around the World” [RCA], Melanie Fiona’s “This Time” [Republic] and Alexis Jordan’s “Say That” [Roc Nation / Columbia].

Meanwhile, Bryan Michael Cox is responsible for producing Mariah Carey’s “You Don’t Know What to Do” [Def Jam], Tamar Braxton’s “Where it Hurts” [Streamline / Epic] and Whitney Houston’s “Never Give Up” [Arista / RCA].

Tamia’s sixth studio collection will hit stores and digital outlets in early 2015 via Universal Music Group / Def Jam Recordings.

Joel Compass confirms new song title “Dance”

Joel Compass has revealed a new song title from his debut album.

“Dance” is slotted for inclusion on the British singer, songwriter and record producer’s first studio collection “Science.”

The highly-anticipated LP is scheduled for release in early 2015 via Outsiders Recorded Music Limited / Polydor Records.

Current single “Girlfriends” – now available for download via iTunes (UK) – was written by Compass, Nicola Roberts, Amanda Ghost and Miranda Cooper along with Jason Pebworth, George Astasio and Jon Shave of The Stereotypes.

“Science” will boast further collaborations with Starsmith (Ellie Goulding, Charli XCX), Ian Dench (Beyonce, Alesha Dixon), MNEK (Becky Hill, The Saturdays) and Dan Carey (Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue).

In related news, Compass recently co-wrote and produced “Kicks” for fellow British artist FKA twigs. The track is lifted from her debut album, “LP1,” out now via iTunes in partnership with XL Recordings imprint Young Turks.

The songwriting and production team – which consists of members Jonathan Yip, Ray Romulus and Jeremy Reeves – are responsible for Danity Kane’s “Lemonade” and Trevor Jackson’s “Me Likey.”

Their extensive resume also includes works for Chris Brown [RCA Records], John Legend [Columbia Records], Stacy Barthe [Motown Records], Far East Movement [Interscope Records] and Justin Bieber [Island Records].

Meanwhile, Miguel is currently working on his upcoming project, which is expected to be released later this year via RCA Records.

The still-untitled collection serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “Kaleidoscope Dream,” which debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

He also co-wrote and produced songs for other artists including Mariah Carey (“#Beautiful”), John Legend (“Tonight”) and Beyonce Knowles (“Rocket”).

The R&B artist posted the official audio for “Me Likey” – featuring Kirko Bangz – to his official YouTube page on Wednesday (July 23, 2014).

The track was co-written and produced by The Stereotypes, who have also worked with John Legend [Columbia Records], Stacy Barthe [Motown Records], Justin Bieber [Island Records] and Chris Brown [RCA Records].

Previous release “Good Girl, Bad Girl” – co-written by Ne-Yo and produced by Jim Jonsin – is now available for download via iTunes (US).

Trevor Jackson’s upcoming as-yet-untitled project is expected to hit online outlets later this year via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

Danity Kane have debuted their new single online.

The pop trio posted “Lemonade” – which samples “Grindin” by Clipse – to their official SoundCloud page on Thursday (May 15, 2014).

The Tyga-assisted track was produced by The Stereotypes, who previously teamed up with Danity Kane on hit single “Damaged.”

As previously reported, the group’s upcoming as-yet-untitled third studio album is scheduled for release later this year.

It serves as the follow-up to 2008’s “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
