Aston Merrygold drafts Chelcee Grimes, Future Cut for debut album

British singer/songwriter Aston Merrygold has added Chelcee Grimes and Future Cut to the list of contributors for his upcoming debut album.

Grimes’ songwriting resume includes works for Fleur East [Syco Music], Karen Harding [Capitol Records], Little Mix [Columbia Records], Conor Maynard [Parlophone Records] and Tulisa Contostavlos [All Around the World].

Some of her notable credits are “Million Miles” by Kylie Minogue [Parlophone] and “Walking Through the Desert” by The Saturdays [Polydor].

Meanwhile, Future Cut are known for producing and co-writing Olly Murs’ “Please Don’t Let Me Go” [Epic Records], Lily Allen’s “Smile” [Parlophone Records] and Stooshe’s “Black Heart” [Warner Bros Records].

The hitmaking duo – consisting of Darren Lewis and Tunde Babalola –also contributed to the next projects by Ella Eyre [Virgin EMI], Tamera Foster [Syco Music], Whinnie Williams [Night Beach Records], Alesha Dixon [Asylum Records] and Mutya Keisha Siobhan [Polydor Records].

As mentioned in earlier posts, Merrygold is expected to release his first studio collection later this year under Warner Bros. Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly features additional alliances with The Underdogs (Ciara, Justin Timberlake), Jin Jin (MNEK, Jess Glynne), Dem Jointz (Rihanna, Madison Beer) and Lil’ Eddie (Usher, Prince Royce).

Ciara confirms new single “Dance Like We’re Making Love”

Ciara has confirmed the title for her new single.

The singer/songwriter dubbed “Dance Like We’re Making Love” as the second promotional cut from her upcoming sixth album, “Jackie,” out on May 4th via Sony Music Entertainment / Epic Records.

“Dance Like We’re Making Love” was co-written by Ciara along with Theron Thomas of Rock City, whose other credits include Rihanna’s “Pour it Up” [Def Jam Recordings] and Ariana Grande’s “Be My Baby” [Republic Records].

Production duties were handled by Dr. Luke, who is also responsible for Nicki Minaj’s “Pills ‘N Potions” [Republic Records], Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” [Capitol Records] and Ne-Yo’s “She Knows” [Motown Records].

Other musicians backing Ciara on the new album are Cirkut (Sia, Britney Spears), Harmony Samuels (Brandy, Jennifer Lopez), Polow Da Don (Kelis, Nicole Scherzinger) and The Underdogs (Usher, Tamar Braxton).

Ciara has revealed the official tracklist for her upcoming sixth album.

The singer/songwriter is scheduled to release “Jackie” on May 4 under Sony Music Entertainment / Epic Records.

Lead single “I Bet” – now available for download via iTunes – was co-written by Rock City (Usher, Nicki Minaj) and produced by Harmony Samuels (Brandy, Teyana Taylor) and Chris “TEK” O’Ryan (Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Scherzinger).

Other album producers include Polow Da Don (Fergie, Keri Hilson), Mike WiLL Made It (Miley Cyrus, Keyshia Cole), Dr. Luke (Tinashe, Britney Spears), Cirkut (Rihanna, Katy Perry) and The Underdogs (Tyrese, Justin Timberlake).

Songwriting collaborators are Diane Warren (Paloma Faith, Kelly Rowland), Ester Dean (Rita Ora, Florence Welch), Livvi Franc (Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez) and Ali Tamposi (Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson).

Ciara has scheduled the release date for her upcoming sixth album.

The singer/songwriter’s next studio collection “Jackie” will hit stores and digital outlets on May 4 via Sony Music Entertainment / Epic Records.

Lead single “I Bet” – which was produced by Harmony “H-Money” Samuels and Chris “TEK” O’Ryan – is now available for download via iTunes.

“Jackie” serves as the follow-up to 2013’s “Ciara,” which peaked to number two on the US Albums Chart and spawned hit singles including the Mike WiLL Made It-produced “Body Party” and the Nicki Minaj-assisted “I’m Out.”

Other producers backing Ciara on “Jackie” are The Underdogs (Beyonce, Justin Timberlake), Dr. Luke (Tinashe, Britney Spears), Cirkut (Rihanna, Katy Perry), Polow Da Don (Fergie, Jamie Foxx) and Soundz (Usher, K. Michelle).

On the songwriting front, the keenly-awaited album boasts contributions from Diane Warren (Rita Ora, Florence Welch), Ester Dean (Selena Gomez, Chris Brown) and Rock City (Kelly Rowland, Leona Lewis).

Aston Merrygold has signed a new deal with Warner Bros. Records.

The music production and distribution label – which is an imprint of Warner Music Group – also oversees releases by CeeLo Green, Lianne La Havas, Joss Stone, Biffy Clyro, Diane Birch, Muse, and The Overtones.

Merrygold – who used to be a member of JLS until their split in 2013 – is currently working on his upcoming solo debut studio collection.

The still-untitled project reportedly boasts contributions from The Underdogs (Rihanna, Justin Timberlake), Lil’ Eddie (Usher, Tessanne Chin), Dem Jointz (Marsha Ambrosius, Chris Brown) and Kevin McCall (Brandy, Sevyn Streeter).

Usher confirms Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams for new single “She Came to Give it to You”

Usher his confirmed the details for his new single.

The R&B crooner – born Usher Raymond – christened “She Came to Give it To You” as the second promotional single from his upcoming eighth album.

The Nicki Minaj-assisted track was produced by Pharrell Williams, who previously teamed up with the artist on singles and album cuts “You Don’t Have to Call,” “Sweet Lies,” “Twisted” and “Hot Thing.”

As previously reported, the highly-anticipated new album by Usher is scheduled for release later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records.

It serves as the follow-up to 2012’s “Looking 4 Myself,” which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and featured hit singles “Climax,” “Scream,” “Lemme See,” “Dive” and “Numb.”

Among the musicians backing Usher on the still-untitled LP are The Underdogs (Rihanna, Tamar Braxton), Da Internz (Tamia, John Legend), Tha Bizness (Brandy, Chris Brown) and Diplo (Marsha Ambrosius, Sevyn Streeter).

The British singer/songwriter – born Craig Ashley David – posted “Cold” to his official SoundCloud page on Wednesday (July 3, 2014).

The track is slotted for inclusion on the artist’s upcoming sixth studio album, which is expected to be released later this year.

As previously reported, the still-untitled LP will boast productions and songwriting contributions from Toby Gad (Robin Thicke, Alicia Keys), Lindy Robbins (Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez) and The Underdogs (Tank, Chris Brown).

Sevyn Streeter has unleashed a new music video online.

“B.A.N.S.” is lifted from the singer/songwriter’s debut mini-album, “Call Me Crazy, But…,” out now via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

The track was co-written by Eric Bellinger, whose resume includes works for Usher (“Lemme See”), Chris Brown (“Love More”), Brandy (“Without You”), Fantasia (“So Much to Prove”) and Jennifer Hudson (“Think Like a Man”).

Production duties were handled by Da Internz, who are also responsible for Candice Glover’s “Could’ve Been Me” [Interscope Records], Tamar Braxton’s “Tip Toe” [Epic Records] and James Arthur’s “Suicide” [Syco Music].

As previously reported, Sevyn – born Amber Streeter – is expected to release her highly-anticipated debut album later this year.

The still-untitled LP is said to yield contributions from Warren “Oak” Felder, Andrew “Pop” Wansel, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, James “J-Doe” Smith, The Underdogs, and Dwayne “Dem Jointz” Abernathy.

K. Michelle has drafted Harvey Mason Jr. for her upcoming sophomore album.

The hitmaker – who forms one half of songwriting and production duo The Underdogs – is known for helming singles “How You Gonna Act Like That” by Tyrese [J Records] and “All the Way Home” by Tamar Braxton [Epic Records].

He also confirmed placements on the next projects by Usher [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records], Rihanna [Universal Music Group / Roc Nation Records] and Tank [Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records].

Meanwhile, the highly-anticipated new collection by K. Michelle is expected to be released later this year via Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records.

It serves as the follow-up to 2013’s “Rebellious Soul,” which debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and featured hit singles “The Right One,” “Can’t Raise a Man” and “V.S.O.P.”

The still-untitled LP will be executively produced by Jeff Robinson, who’s also overseeing the next releases by Elle Varner [RCA Records], Tiara Thomas [Interscope Records], Daisha [Epic Records] and Gabi Wilson [RCA Records].

In addition to Harvey Mason Jr., K. Michelle – born Kimberly Pate – also collaborated with songwriters and producers Steve “Ace” Mostyn, Ronald “Flip” Colson, Sevyn Streeter, and Stacy Barthe on the new album.

R&B singer/songwriter Mary J. Blige has added The Underdogs to the list of contributors for her upcoming studio album.

The songwriting and production duo – consisting of Harvey Mason Jr. and Damon Thomas – previously teamed up with the artist on “My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act 1)” tracks “The Living Proof” and “Miss Me With That.”

They have also confirmed placements on the next projects by Rihanna [Universal Music Group / Roc Nation Records], Usher [Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records] and Tank [Warner Music Group / Atlantic Records].

As previously reported, the highly-anticipated new album by Mary J. Blige is expected to be released later this year via Universal Music Group / Matriarch Records / Interscope Records.

It serves as the follow-up to 2011’s “My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act 1),” which debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
