Mabel releases new single “Boyfriend”

British-Swedish singer/songwriter Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, known mononymously as Mabel, has released her new single online.

“Boyfriend” – which samples Marlena Shaw’s “Woman of the Ghetto” – is now available via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

The track was co-written by Mabel alongside Camille “Kamille” Purcell and Steven “Steve Mac” McCutcheon, who previously teamed up with the artist on hit singles “Don’t Call Me Up” (UK No. 3) and “Mad Love” (UK No. 8).

Mabel’s debut studio album, 2019’s “High Expectations,” debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart. She also won the award for Best Female Solo Artist at the 2020 Brit Awards.

Jessie Ware announces details for new single “Spotlight”

Jessie Ware has announced the details for her new single.

The British singer/songwriter (born Jessica Lois Ware) christened “Spotlight” as her next promotional cut and will release it on February 28th via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

“Spotlight” was written by Ware alongside regular collaborators Alexandra “Shungudzo” Govere (Alina Baraz, Louisa Johnson), Danny Parker (Shawn Mendes, Nick Jonas) and James Ford (Haim, Florence and the Machine).

Ware’s most recent studio collection under Island Records UK, 2017’s “Glasshouse,” peaked to number seven on the UK Albums Chart and spawned three singles in the shape of “Midnight,” “Selfish Love” and “Alone.”

Mabel has announced the details for her new single.

The British-Swedish singer/songwriter (born Mabel Alabama McVey) dubbed “Boyfriend” as her next promotional cut and will release it on February 26 via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

The track was co-written by Camille “Kamille” Purcell and Steven “Steve Mac” McCutcheon, who previously teamed up with Mabel on hit singles “Don’t Call Me Up” (UK No. 3) and “Mad Love” (UK No. 8).

Mabel’s debut studio album, 2019’s “High Expectations,” peaked to number three on the UK Albums Chart and spawned productions from Dre Skull (“Bad Behaviour”), Al Shux (“We Don’t Say”), Fraser T. Smith (“Selfish Love”), Josh Crocker (“Not Saying”) and Snakehips (“Stockholm Syndrome”).

Lost Girl signs deal with Island Records UK

Lost Girl has signed a new deal with Island Records UK.

“I’m so happy to able to finally announce that I signed my first RECORD deal with @islandrecordsuk about 9 months ago. Anyone who knows me will know I’ve worked my entire life to get to this point, I’ve been singing since I came out the womb, but I never ever gave up. I had a dream and made it a reality,” the British singer/songwriter posted to Instagram.

The Universal Music Group imprint is also home to other artists including Ariana Grande, Drake, Ella Eyre, Hailee Steinfeld, Jaden Smith, Kid Kudi, Miraa May, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, Ray BLK, Sean Paul, and The Weeknd.

Among the songwriters and producers Lost Girl has worked with are Ed Thomas, Celetia Martin, Bless Beats, Katy B, Okan, Joel Compass, Darhyl “DJ” Camper, Simon Jonasson, Alana Maria, Robin Danielsson, Nia V, Sean1da, Nastylgia, Aida Lae, Joel Malka, and PJ Pipe It Up.

Lost Girl’s debut (and yet-to-be-announced) debut single is scheduled to arrive by the end of this month via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The Weeknd releases new single “After Hours”

Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye) has released his new single online.

“After Hours” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was written by The Weeknd alongside Ahmad Balshe, Carlo “Illangelo” Montagnese, Jason “DaHeala” Quenneville, and Mario Winans.

The Weeknd’s upcoming studio album “After Hours” – featuring previous single “Heartless” – is scheduled to arrive on March 20 via Republic Records.

Ella Mai teams up with Johnta Austin for new collaboration

Ella Mai has teamed up with Johnta Austin for a new collaboration.

Austin is responsible for co-writing Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together,” Toni Braxton’s “Just Be a Man About It,” Aaliyah’s “Miss You,” Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You,” Janet Jackson’s “Call on Me,” Fantasia’s “Hood Boy,” Jessica Simpson’s “A Public Affair,” and Melanie Fiona’s “This Time.”

His debut album “Love, Sex & Religion” – featuring productions from Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox, Troy Taylor, J-Kits,  Drumma Boy, Harmony Samuels, Xeryus Gittens, and Troy Oliver – is out now via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Besides featuring on Usher’s latest single “Don’t Waste My Time,” Mai is also scheduled to release her second studio album later this year via DJ Mustard’s label 10 Summers Records in partnership with Interscope Records.

Her self-titled debut studio album debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles “Boo’d Up,” “Naked,” “Trip” and “Shot Clock.”

Sam Smith announces details for new album “To Die For”

Sam Smith has announced the details for her his new album.

The British singer/songwriter (born Samuel Frederick Smith) christened his third studio collection “To Die For” and will release it on May 1st via Universal Music Group / Capitol Records.

Current promotional single “How Do You Sleep” – which was written by Smith alongside Savan Kotecha, Ilya Salmanzadeh, and Max Martin – is now available via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

The follow-up to 2017’s “The Thrill Of It All” boasts further songwriting contributions from Ryan Tedder, Louis Bell, Ali Tamposi, Andrew Watt, Two Inch Punch, Amy Allen, Kamille, and Steve Mac.

As a songwriter, Smith recently co-penned Celine Dion’s “For the Lover That I Lost” alongside regular collaborators Jimmy Napes and Stargate (aka Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen). The track appears on Dion’s latest studio album, “Courage,” which topped the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
