Julia Michaels enlists Jimmy Napes for new collaboration

American singer/songwriter Julia Carin Cavacos, professionally known as Julia Michaels, has enlisted Jimmy Napes for a new collaboration.

The British songwriter and record producer has previously helmed songs for Sam Smith (“Too Good at Goodbyes”), Alicia Keys (“Hallelujah”), Mary J. Blige (“When You’re Gone”), Lianne La Havas (“Wonderful”), Rita Ora (“Velvet Rope”), Gregory Porter (“Holding On”), Ray BLK (“Doing Me”), Ellie Goulding (“Heal”), Ria Ritchie (“In My Blood”) and Jessie Ware (“Pieces”).

Napes’ debut mini-album “The Making of Me” – featuring the Jacob Banks-penned / Disclosure-produced “Keep You to Myself” – is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

Michaels, on the other hand, is expected to release her upcoming project and follow-up to 2017’s “Nervous System” later this year via Republic Records.

Her current promotional singles “Heaven” (co-written with MNEK and Tayla Parx) and “Are You” (co-written with Justin Tranter and produced by Mattias Larsson and Robin Fredriksson Mattman & Robin) appear on the original motion picture soundtrack, “Fifty Shades Freed.”

Jacob Banks hits the studio with Stargate, Hue Strother

British singer/songwriter Jacob Banks has teamed up with Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen of Stargate and Hue Strother for a new collaboration.

Stargate’s recent production and songwriting credits include Tinashe’s “Faded Love,” Daya’s “New,” Charli XCX’s “Track 10,” Camila Cabello’s “OMG,” Sam Smith’s “Too Good at Goodbyes,” Rachel Platten’s “Broken Glass,” Majid Jordan’s “Body Talk,” and Bebe Rexha’s “I Got Time.”

Meanwhile, Strother’s songwriting resume boasts works with Mack Wilds (“Night Time”), Kiana Lede (“One of Them Days”), Ledisi (“Add to Me”), Cassie (“Radio”) and H.E.R. (“Every Kind of Way”).

Banks, on the other hand, is expected to release his upcoming project – featuring further contributions from Francis “Eg” White, Charlie Handsome, Bibi Bourelly, Two Inch Punch, Jonny Lattimer, Sam Romans, and Benny Cassette – is expected to arrive later this year via Interscope Records.

His current promotional single “Unknown (To You)” – which was produced by Robin Hannibal and co-written by John Newman and Zane Lowe – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Grace Carter premieres music video for new single “Silhouette”

Grace Carter has premiered the music video for her new single online.

The visual clip for “Sihouette” was posted to the British singer/songwriter’s Vevo channel on Wednesday (February 14, 2018).

Co-written by Justin Parker and produced by regular collaborators The 23rd; “Silhouette” is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Carter’s upcoming debut project – featuring previous singles “Silence” and “Ashes” – is expected to arrive later this year via Polydor Records.

The still-untitled collection reportedly yields further contributions from Stephen Kozmeniuk, Fred Cox, Digital Farm Animals, Om’Mas Keith, Two Inch Punch, Max McElligott, Harry James, KIN, Paddy Byrne, Ilsey Juber, Francis “Eg” White, Jordan Riley, Fabienne Holloway, Martin Sjolie, and Plested.

Toni Braxton schedules release date for new album

Toni Braxton has scheduled the release date for her upcoming album.

The American singer, songwriter, and actress will drop her eighth studio collection “Sex & Cigarettes” on March 23 via Def Jam Recordings.

Current promotional single “Long As I Live” – which was co-written and produced by Antonio Dixon – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

In addition to Colbie Caillat, who duets on Braxton on “My Heart,” the follow-up to 2010’s “Pulse” and 2014’s “Love, Marriage & Divorce” yields further alliances with Fred Ball (Rihanna, Jessie Ware), James Newman (Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris) and Stuart Crichton (Kesha, Tina Arena).

Shungudzo unleashes new promotional single “Come On Back”

Zimbabwean/French/Native-American singer-songwriter Alexandra Govere, known mononymously Shungudzo, has unleashed her new single online.

“Come On Back” – which was co-written by Shungudzo alongside fellow recording artist Jenny Owen Youngs – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Production duties on “Come On Back” were handled by Jordan Palmer, whose resume boasts additional works with Andy Grammer (“This Ain’t Love”), Lights (“New Fears”), Allie X (“Paper Love”), Leland (“Mattress”), Liza Owen (“Don’t Call My Baby”), Prince Fox (“Fragile”) and Greyson Chance (“Afterlife”).

The track also appears on the original motion picture soundtrack “Fifty Shades Freed,” out now via Universal Music Group / Republic Records.

Stanaj teams up with Afrojack for new promotional single “Bed of Roses”

American singer/songwriter Stanaj has teamed up with Dutch DJ/record producer Afrojack (born Nick van de Wall) for his new promotional single “Bed of Roses,” out on February 14 via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Stanaj and fellow recording artist Molly Kate Kestner alongside Thomas Troelsen (Charlie Puth, Jason Derulo) and Giorgio Tuinfort (David Guetta, Gwen Stefani).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Stanaj’s upcoming project – featuring the Simon Wilcox-assisted / Nadir “RedOne” Khayat-produced “The Way I Love Her” – is expected to arrive later this year via Republic Records.
