Yuna enlists Chloe Angelides, Big Taste for new collaboration

Malaysian singer/songwriter Yunalis Mat Zara’ai, professionally known as Yuna, has enlisted Chloe Angelides and Big Taste for a new collaboration.

Angelides is responsible for co-writing Selena Gomez’s “Fetish,” Era Istrefi’s “No I Love Yous,” Demi Lovato’s “Ruin the Friendship,” Little Mix’s “Dear Lover,” Ariana Grande’s “Thinking Bout You,” Lea Michele’s “Tornado,” Nicki Minaj’s “Get on Your Knees,” Jessie J’s “Burning Up,” and Tinashe’s “Player.”

Meanwhile, Big Taste’s production resume boasts works with Justin Bieber (“Company”), Sage the Gemini (“Now and Later”), Jake Miller (“Overnight”), Adam Lambert (“Two Fux”), Train (“Ziplock Full of Sunshine”), Nakita (“Vision”), Maty Noyes (“Falling Out of Love”) and Dua Lipa (“Genesis”).

Yuna, on the other hand, is expected to release her next project – featuring further contributions from Fiona Bevan and Jamie Hartman – early next year via Universal Music Recordings / Verve Music Group.

The still-untitled collection serves as the follow-up to 2016’s “Chapters,” which spawned contributions from DJ Premier (“Places to Go”), Robin Hannibal (“Too Close”), David Foster (“All I Do”) and Fisticuffs (“Crush”).

Bevan is responsible for co-writing One Direction’s “Little Things,” Lights’ “Skydiving,” Billie Marten’s “Ribbon,” Tom Walker’s “Heartland,” Little Sea’s “Cut it Out,” Stefflon Don’s “Forever,” Hey Violet’s “Unholy,” Una Healy’s “Angel Like You,” Steps’ “Scared of the Dark,” and Laura Welsh’s “Sex & Violence.”

Meanwhile, Hartman’s songwriting/production resume boasts works with Kacy Hill (“Lion”), JP Cooper (“Passport Home”), Rag’n’Bone Man (“Human”), Jennifer Hudson (“Remember Me”), Kygo (“Stargazing”), Andy Grammer (“Forever”), Birdy (“Shadow”) and Kylie Minogue (“Your Body”).

Yuna, on the other hand, is expected to release her next project in 2018 via Universal Music Recordings / Verve Music Group.

Thirdstory debut new single “G Train”

Thirdstory have debuted their new single online.

The American male group – composed of members Elliott Skinner, Richard Saunders, and Ben Lusher – posted the audio clip for “G Train” to their YouTube channel on Friday (May 13, 2016).

“G Train” was co-written by Ruth-Anne Cunningham (One Direction, Alex & Sierra) and Jon Levine (Fefe Dobson, Rachel Platten).

Production duties were handled by James “Malay” Ho, who also worked with the likes of Zayn Malik (“BeFour”), Alessia Cara (“Wild Things”), Tori Kelly (“Talk”), Alicia Keys (“One Thing”) and Frank Ocean (“Lost”).

Thirdstory’s debut mini-collection “Searching” – featuring “Grows Old” and “Searching for a Feeling” – is now available for download via iTunes in partnership with UMG Recordings and Verve Music Group.

Chrisette Michele unveils “Love in the Afternoon” music video

Chrisette Michele has unveiled the music video for her new single online.

“Love in the Afternoon” – which features Nello Luchi – marks the fourth promotional single from the R&B singer/songwriter’s latest album, “Better,” out now via Universal Music Group / Motown Records / Def Jam Recordings.

The track was written by Michele – born Chrisette Payne – along with British record producer Isra “Wizzy Wow” Lohata, who previously teamed up with the artist on the 2 Chainz-assisted hit single “Charades.”

“Love in the Afternoon” serves as the follow-up to previous release “Love Won’t Leave Me Out,” produced by Ivan Barias and Carvin Haggins.

“Better” yields additional alliances from Shea Taylor (Daley, Bridget Kelly), Darhyl Camper (Jay Z, Elle Varner), Chuck Harmony (Tamia, Keke Wyatt), Warren Felder (Rihanna, Trey Songz) and Andrew Wansel (Usher, Nicki Minaj).

In related news, Michele recently co-wrote “Can’t Help Who You Love” for Ledisi along with Stacy Barthe, Arden Altino and Jerry Duplessis. The track appears on Ledisi’s latest album, “The Truth,” out now via Verve Music Group.

Ledisi has unwrapped the songwriting credits for her upcoming album, which serves as the follow-up to 2011’s “Pieces of Me.”

The singer/songwriter is scheduled to release “The Truth” in the United States on March 11 via Universal Music Group / Verve Music Group.

Lead single “I Blame You” was written by Ledisi along with regular collaborators Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony.

Other album songwriters include Johnta Austin (Brandy, Mariah Carey), Stacy Barthe (Rihanna, Melanie Fiona), Ivan Barias (Tamia, Jazmine Sullivan), Carvin Haggins (Estelle, Faith Evans) and John Webb Jr. (Karmin, Jessie J).

“I Blame You” marks the first promotional single from the singer/songwriter’s upcoming album, “The Truth,” out on February 11 via Verve Music Group.

The track was co-written by Claude Kelly, whose credits include “Thunder” by Jessie J [Republic Records], “Baptized” by Daughtry [RCA Records] and “Satellites” by James Blunt [Atlantic Records].

Production duties were handled by Chuck Harmony, whose recent credits include “Better” by Chrisette Michele [Island Def Jam Recordings] and “To Whom It May Concern” by Ne-Yo [Motown Records].

Yuna has unveiled the music video for her new single online.

“Rescue” is taken from the Malaysian singer/songwriter’s latest studio album, “Nocturnal,” out now via Verve Music Group.

The track was written by Yuna along with regular collaborator Chris Braide, whose recent credits include “God Made You Beautiful” by Beyonce [Columbia Records] and “Perfume” by Britney Spears [RCA Records].

Braide is also known for collaborating with the likes of Lana Del Rey (“Million Dollar Man”), Diana Vickers (“Boy Who Murdered Love”), Christina Aguilera (“Blank Page”) and Kylie Minogue (“After Dark”).

“Nocturnal” boasts further productions and songwriting contributions from Chad Hugo (Kendrick Lamar, Mariah Carey), Robin Hannibal (Quadron, Gilles Peterson) and Om’Mas Keith (Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt).

The singer/songwriter dubbed her new collection “The Truth” and will release it on February 11 via Universal / Verve Music Group.

Lead single “I Blame You” – available for download via iTunes – was written by regular collaborators Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony.

Other album contributors include Angela Hunte, Jerry “Wonda” Duplessis, Carvin “ Ransum” Haggins and Ivan “Orthodox” Barias.

“The Truth” serves as the follow-up to 2011’s “Pieces of Me.” That release debuted at number eight on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
